Bischoff outdid himself with that Slick disguise.

The first segment of the night I wasn’t feeling: The Lesnar/Heyman camp came off like total chumps.

Yep. You would've at least thought we'd get a follow-up segment of Brock destroying X-Pac and the Outlaws backstage to give him some heat back, but nope, tonight was all about the Game.

Punk's turn is very intriguing. If they make him into an actual tweener then this could be really cool...but, I don't trust the writing team to handle that well, especially given how Lawler was already pushing the betrayal aspect post-match. Looks like we'll still get Punk/Show/Cena in a triple threat at Summerslam, though it's odd that they picked Rock's title shot for Royal Rumble. I guess it leaves them a lot of room for future plans and an added bonus of 'will the Rumble winner potential face Rock in the Mania main event' or some such booking, whether it's Cena, Lesnar, Undertaker, etc. Or hell, maybe Punk retains all the way to Mania and finally loses the belt to surprise Rumble winner Steve Austin.

Oh lord, are we seriously getting Daniel Bryan vs. Charlie Sheen? For god's sake.

SEAN MOONEY is one distinguished-looking mofo in his old(er) age. Maybe Vince brought him back because someone told him Mooney suddenly looks like Mitt Romney's brother.

Thanks for the recaps Geemoney, you did great work week after week!

I personally do not agree with CRZ's opinion that recapping is pointless, and I don't believe I'm alone on this board. geemoney I've been reading your recap posts as well as other denizens of the board's recaps mainly for the entertaining personal commentary by the writer/typer about the show they are reviewing. Even if I didn't catch Raw that night, I'd always read your recaps geemoney, or If I saw some weird botch or questionable moment on Raw or any wrestling show I'd immediately log on The W to see if it was documented and sarcastically skewed. You have more patience than I could sum up by diligently typing these up week after week for five years. Thanks brotha.

Wait, so the 1000th episode of Raw is done in St. Louis Missouri and not one mention of Randy Orton is made? Even if his suspension is still going it has to be a few weeks short of 60 days. You'd think he'd get a "via-satellite" appearance at least?

I had a feeling Lita would show up. I don't know why nor do I care. Interesting things about her appearance: Awesome cleavage. I forgot she was a brunette, Heath and Lita look like cousins. I like how she went for the Twist of Fate and seemed to hesitate because her natural reaction was to the the "Hardy Boyz finger point" after the kick.

Heath sold that Clothesline from Hell like death!

Ahh the main event of the evening. Well first of all it was nice of Vince to put his current Heavyweight Champion CM Punk at the end of RAW for once instead of the show involving John Cena cutting a generic promo or a Cena-centered ending...oh what's that you say? CM Punk closes Raw defending against Cena in a title match?

Here's my problem with the Heel turn. Had Punk been treated in his year long title reign with the same attention as Cena has since Money in the Bank last year the Heel turn would of been UNNESSECARY. I've said it many times and I still stay true to the opinion CM Punk has been treated as a midcarder while Cena never stopped being portrayed as the main event champion. After the Worked-shoot promo, the "Summer of Punk", and the company walk-out they could of easily pushed a new tweener face of the company that the WWE hasn't been able to create since Steve Austin. All the ways they could of established Punk as the new anti-authority face of the company was handed to Cena.

Raw mainly closes with some kind of promo, match, or story involvement centered around Cena. Same with Pay-Per-Views, his matches are the highlight or the closer of the show despite not involving a championship (matches involving The Rock not included). Even though John Laurinaitis and Punk had it out when Johnny was Interim GM in the beginning it wasn't the rebellious champion who took him out, but the goofy-smirked, clean shaven, spotless company boy who suddenly wishes to stand up to authority and eliminates Johnny.

They tried well enough with the Jericho feud, and the D-Bry feud (which gave us awesome matches), but this is Sports Entertainment where the more tv time and in-depth diverse storylines show who is most valuable in the company. Vince still thinks of anyone not Cena, no matter how over they have been with fans for months or how much merchandise they sell, is still an afterthought in comparison.

I love Ziggler, Punk, Bryan, and AJ but if Cena takes the belt off Punk at Summerslam just to set up "Cena vs. Rock II" I wash my hands of this company. Rant over.

I'm not sure why you think this is a "problem" with the heel turn, as it's fairly obvious that this is going to be Punk's motivation for clobbering The Rock.

I appreciated all of your recaps... but I can totally understand how 3 hours is way too much. Especially when it's really 3 hours and 12 minutes, not just 3 hours.

Thank you!

We are how many posts in and we're not going to talk about Mae Young's hand-son? 15 years later, and I finally get the payoff I always wanted. I laughed so hard I was nearly crying. Please tell me you can't all be so cold.

I know I am in the minority, but I can't wait to see Punk wipe the floor with the Rock. I don't like the Rock. He been saying the same catch-phrases and doing the same schtick for so long. It bores me to tears. I thin Punk is the face, coming to save me from more of the Rock's asinine bakery metaphors.

I can't say that I catch RAW much these days, but this episode felt like a 60 year old man wearing skinny jeans. If you have to tell everyone that you're really hip and really cool, then you aren't hip and cool.

If Charlie Sheen - a man who was arrested multiple times for domestic battery - tells you that you need to start treating your girlfriend(s) better, then you REALLY should start treating your girlfriend(s) better.

And AJ's qualifications for running a nationally televised, live sports entertainment program are...

So maybe I'm missing something but as I understand it:

1) Brock Lesnar punks out HHH on RAW and breaks his arm.

2) HHH challenge Brock to a fight on a PPV of the company HHH runs with his family. Brock declines.

3) HHH then beats up an over-weight, middle-aged Paul Heyman on a national TV. Brock still declines.

4) HHH then brings out his wife to insult, berate, and smack around an over-weight, middle-aged Paul Heyman (while HHH looks on) until the Heyman finally snaps and accepts the match.

5) Who am I supposed to root for again?

The guy who got his arm broke? They've fumbled the ball on generating the heat for the match, but I don't think the face/heel lines are particularly blurred at all.

I am outraged! Where is Blackman? My son was in my office yesterday and asked who this figure on my bookcase is? It's the Lethal Weapon, son. Geeze.

And by the way, the recaps were well worth writing for us to read. There are many of us that watch only a little bit of the show from week to week and you filled in all the blanks for us. Thanks, G!

Let me add my thanks to geemoney, who provided one of the most unbiased and well written recaps out there at an insanely fast turnaround. Kudos.

SEAN MOONEY!!!!! I've never been so excited to see a backstage interviewer in all of my life.

Did you open your mouth? Sunofa.....

Geemoney, thankyouthankyouthankyou for your recaps. They will be missed!

Nostalgia all around:

-opening vid
-DX gunner truck
-Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls......
-Sean Mooney
-Brothers of Destruction
-Lita AND Trish
-Mae young's son - I DO believe she gave birth to a right hand, too. CONTINUITY~!
-Clothesline From hell
-Good 'Ol JR, with his snazzy new goatee and sans Cole dickness!
-Slick's facial expressions

I would have SWORE that they would have had Austin kill Slater, tho.

-edit - forgot about this one, too: GTV - Gene: "I wasn't even working here!" "That makes even MORE sense, then!" At least we got to see Golddust in the vid.
Oh, and Cena failed at cashing in MITB. Looozar.

Rock was struggling out there this week. How much is Punk going to have to pull his punches in the promos will be telling. They will start with Rock as face, then probably try for a 50/50 split, but he 's going to be booed by The Royal Rumble

He's really not. Punk got turned heel last night just by clotheslining the guy. People are engaged in some serious wishful thinking if they expect Punk to get cheered against Rock.

Geemoney, thank you for your contributions to my Tuesday Morning what did I miss thanks to having a kid internet searching. I also disagree, we need a recapper, because my DVR crapped out even before the shenanigans started.

It was not a bad show, it was actually quite good. I liked the DX/Sandow bit. I liked the entire AJ/DB to Punk/Rock/DB. I legit laughed at Rock's shots at DB. I even enjoyed most of the wrestling even Lita taking out Heath Slater. I just think they turned the wrong guy. Punk is more over than Cena, we hear almost every night. I also don't trust the writing staff to make Punk, a tweener. The only way it works is if Punk controls his promos and to some extent the story and matches. A Cena heel turn would be major and him beating down Rock and Punk and maybe even Big Show with a chair would be an epic visual. Instead they go for another storyline of Cena beating the bad guy which has long since left the train station and somewhere in the midwest.

I also didn't like Brock getting punked out. Steph being on my TV is not a good thing either. It seems since Brock got there, the WWE has done everything in their power to make Brock seem mortal. That is a not a receipt for success. If Brock had destroyed Cena then yes, this may work. He needed to at least destroy DX or Shawn. Instead, we get Alpha Mom an Daddy showrunners already using their kids to get a buyrate. Parents of the year, right there. The sad part, is they did nothing to make my buy SummerSlam. Royal Rumble, oh hell yeah. Speaking of Hell Yeah. No Austin? That is just weird.

Thank you, geemoney. You da man.

Shoutout to the hood on Undertaker's robe, which just didn't seem to want to come off the dead man's head. I fully expect the hood to make an appearance in the next episode of Botchamania.

And on a less snarky note, I really hope there's no sort of punishment for Hunico or Hawkins in the wake of the Brothers of Destruction reunion. It looked like they were meant to roll out of the ring a lot earlier after the stereo tombstones. I think I heard Undi bark "Out!" at Hunico as they booted both jobbers out of the ring.

Lawler even called him "JBL" when he did the Clothesline From Hell. Prior to that, Cole was careful enough to call him Bradshaw.

On a slightly related note, it would be completely awesome to have JBL back in the commentary booth. King and Cole are just not good enough.

I went to bed last night annoyed with Punk's turn, but I awoke this morning happy about it.

Punk sits there as champ and watches Cena continue to main event, and then watches a movie star who wrestles one match a year get a title shot. I imagine a heel CM Punk can do wonders with a promo on that.

And I add my thanks to Geemoney. Your recaps were often a lifesave for those of us who aren't able to sit through two hours once a week.

Love the WWE title has proper meaning again.

Anybody notice they didn't blur the WWF scratch logo on many of the highlights?

The Mae Young hand angle finally paid off for me.

Every week, after watching Raw, I've always come here to read the recaps and other people's opinions on the show. I usually don't post, as I usually don't feel it's necessary to add my 2¢. Some things make the recaps that I don't see, such as the odd backstage clip, or I may not be aware of something that the recapper brings up, like Damien Sandow being Idol Stevens. I would never have figured that out myself, and I usually can recognize guys in different gimmicks.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to geemoney for the recaps, and I certainly think recaps are still relevant in this day and age. But, I refuse to use facebook, twitter, pintrest, tout, or whatever other social media that is being pushed nowadays.
