I recently got a survey from one of those "Fill out these surveys and get points" companies. It was pretty detailed so it seemed to be on the up and up. One of the questions they asked was which of a long list of celebrities could I see replacing Alex Trebek in the future. So it appears they're at least thinking about it.

Just curious, do you remember who some of the choices were?

I do not, sorry.
Actually, I do remember one -- because it was the only female in the list. Katie Couric.

Trebek has a Dick Clark thing going where he seems to have stopped aging around 47, but he is 71 and he might not want to do this forever. Hosting Jeopardy is not the world's hardest job, but it may also be something you don't want to do forever.
Ken Jennings Anderson Cooper Jeff Probst Brad Rutter - the other guy on the Watson games Todd Alan Crain - he was the guy who hosted the Watson test games Bob Costas Pat Kiernan

Jennings would make great marketing sense, but he's been critical about the show's production on his blogs. I dunno if he'd have the stamina to put up with the show's style, specifically the director's adoration of older female contestants.

From what you guys listed, my choices would be either Patrick or Jennings. My real choice is one I know would never happen but I really wish it would: Stephen Fry. He's perfect if you ask me. He's incredibly intelligent, comedic, and based on what I've seen on a couple of episodes of QI, he's a very good host. I just don't see him leaving the UK and a whole ton of career opportunities just to host the show.

We take an extended breather after last week's Fall of Terminus, and there's no better way for this show to do a "breather" episode than a good ol' fashioned supply run.
