The biggest chunk of news: WWE 13 is bringing back the Attitude Era, allowing you to play through storylines from the late 90s as any of 8 of the biggest stars of the era. Weird. But could be cool.
I never played WWE 12, not even for a second. But as usual, THQ claims they're fixing all the problems and making it all super duper better.

“@ZackRyder: @CMPunk She played me bro” I got your back.
The A #1, crippling problem for WWE '12 was the online interaction servers appeared to have the bandwidth capacity of a late '90s BBS.
The game was average to play offline, but the amazing community creations almost mocking you with the inability to actually download them is what destroyed the replayability of the game.

Yeah, THQ is fixing the problems. I'll believe it when I see it...or successfully access any of their community creations or whatever.
I thought WWE 12 was terrible. Sure, it looked good, but the Road To Wrestlemania was way too short, and the computer was incredibly cheap.
Everything Mike said is 100% correct. WWE 12 is probably the worst wrestling game, I have played. Even tough I am a big Attitude mark, I am leery. Besides only 8 guys? Kinda weak.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.

Even though WWE 12 was nothing special, it was worlds better than WM XIX for Gamecube, Smackdown vs. Raw 09 with the mode where you had to rest every week and do "photo shoots" all the time, and of course the Raw games for the original XBox.
But I do agree that the Attitude Era storyline looks a little goofy. I never chose to do the "play as Andre vs. Hogan at WM III" kind of stuff that some games would put in there. Rehashing storylines that I remember really isn't my idea of a fun mode.

So that's THQ's "hook" or unprecedented feature they will try to use to sell WWE 13, you can go through the Attitude Era. It's a good metaphor for how this series seems to step backwards by leaps while stepping forward by baby steps year after year.
I bought WWE 12 about a week after it came out last year. Maybe because it was early and traffic was light online, the servers were manageable. I was able to download quite a few community created wrestlers (which looked amazing and exact for not being fan made) but the process wasn't perfect. I believe THQ did two or three updates to fix bugs with Community Creations disconnecting, and lagging in some of the heavier special matches in online play.
The updates MADE. THINGS. MUCH. WORSE. To the point where using "search" in CC was useless and If you saw a download you liked you had to download it and look at it later because even trying to view it my disconnect you. Then around March THQ said fuck it and just gave up trying to fix the broken online "We got your money nerds see you around fall". THQ are the biggest swindlers in gaming right now, I've heard similar bad stories about the online for their UFC games.
I'll give them this though I liked playing as head booker in the offline WWE Universe mode. Well except for the fact that the computer was adamant on ignoring the shows and feuds I was painstakingly putting together in favor of doing the same matches over and over again until I just let it have the match. Or the times I would make a specialty match like a No-DQ-two-out-of-three-falls elimination triple threat match, and the computer decides right as the match starts to make it a normal triple threat with a one fall finish. Is this what working for Vince is like?
I like Punk on the cover. There are things in the THQ wrestling games I can work with but WWE 12's negatives crushed the positives. I have low expectations.
I'd sell a firstborn for a new Fire Pro Wrestling game right now.
All I have is a cheap-o router from either Best Buy or Target (I don't remember which one), and it works fine with my Wii. The more expensive routers are the super-high-speed ones, extreme range on the wireless signal, built-in firewalls, etc.
