After Andrea left the relative safety of the truck to "Get Carol", which conveniently made room in the truck for Lori & Herschel's other daughter. Guess Andrea should have been standing there screaming like Carol -- she might have been the one to get the ride from Daryl.
I think they tried to make it look like that Lori or T-Dog was raising their hand up to the window and they only saw a body go down and thought it was Andrea.

At the end of season 1 I was thinking "ok, now the story really starts..but I can wait until next season."
At the end of season 2 I was "OMG! More please. Now!"

They are a very flawed bunch, but I think any group of survivors would be.
Lori...I don't know. The way they write her character is so bizarre. It's like..they don't want us to like her?

The final shot of what I assume is the legendary prison was nice.
I do think that they'll spice things up a bit once they make it there. Throw in some extra story lines.

I can't decide if they are trying to write Lori differently than the comic or they are just writing her really badly. Never had a problem with her in the books, but she's an idiot here.

They (the writers) seem to make me hate all the main female characters. Andrea for letting that girl try to kill herself and snipin' Daryl. Lori for not being able to watch Carl, and stirring the pot with both Rick and Shane. Now Carol trying to convince Daryl to turn heel on Rick.

HER!!!

I thought this one of the better finales that have been done. Just wall to wall full of awesomeness. I loved it. Lori is a bitch in the comics and now we are starting to really see it. Andrea was a complete Bad Ass and we finally have the farm out of the way in a more logical way than in the comics. I do think they are doing a great job of lining things up to a very incredible end to season 3. That final shot of the jail was, man, just man. Some of you are going to lose your damn minds.

With Michone, I did not read the comic so I don;t know if there is an answer to this, but why wouldn;t the chained up zombies just walk up and bite her? I know they have no arms but they do have a mouth and there seems to be a lot of slack with the chains. Is there an answer to this in the comics?

In the comics she has cut off most of their bottom jaw so they can't clamp down. It looks like they are missing their bottom jaw on the show as well, but the scene is pretty dark.

Also, if you purchase the latest Playboy magazine out on newsstands this week (Sex + Music issue - Bruno Mars on the cover), there is a 6 page "origin" story that shows Michonne in the first days following the zombie outbreak that is by Kirkman and regular series artist Charlie Adlard. *THAT* is what it took for me to purchase a Playboy off the shelves for the first time since I was a teenager (no, really).

From CollegeHumor.com:
10 Reasons Why The Walking Dead Should Just Kill Carl

1 Carl, stay in the house.

2 Seriously, Carl. Stay in the house

3 Carl, I don’t want to yell but it’s the middle of the zombie apocalypse and we’re going to need you to stay close by.

4 Okay, buddy. Can you be a good little sheriff and stay put? I don’t know, guard the living room. Yes, okay here’s a special hat and you are officially on duty to protect the couch cushions. Just stay in the house.

5 Carl, I’d ground you but it seems a bit trite what with the hordes of Zombies outside trying to eat our faces.

6 Remember what happened when another little kid wandered off alone? You were here for that.

7 It’s great you’re keeping your childish rebellion alive but if one of the bad guys gets you, Daddy is going to have to shoot you in the head.

8 Please, Carl. Just stay here. I’ll be right back. Protect the couch cushions. Make some lunch. Get back to doing that math homework we inexplicably cared about 4 episodes ago.

9 Carl, I’m not fucking around. Please, Carl. Just stay in the house. Do this one fucking thing. Just stay in the house for the next 5 minutes.

10 HAS ANYONE SEEN CARL?? HE’S NOT IN THE HOUSE.

Awesome.

I don't necessarily support the #killcarlalready movement, since it's entirely Lori's inability to keep track of one not-so-wily 10 year old. Still. Carl, stay in the fucking house.

I thought it was a pretty solid season finale. I couldn't make out the building in the final shot either (my tv is good, but my eyes suck) but watching it again (and moving a couple feet closer) the prison looks cool. The opening few shots, showing how the zombies saw the same helicopter Rick did and just started walking in that direction until another sound redirected them was cool to see. That and Andrea's midnight run gives a sense that the walkers really are "death." You can stay ahead of them for a while, but you can't outrun them. They'll keep coming for you, slowly, methodically, never needing to rest while you exhaust yourself from running.

When Rick told Lori that he killed Shane, and she revolted, I took it to be that although she may have wanted them to fight to the death, she may not have wanted Rick to be the one to live.

Poor Andrea. That'll teach her to give up her seat again! It's interesting that last year's finale had her begging to be left behind to die, whereas one year later she spends the episode fighting against all odds to live. I have to wonder how pissed she'll be that the group left her (or at least, didn't look for her). Also interesting to think about how she'll react to Rick when she finds out about how he killed Shane, who she was close with.

I know nerds love ninjas, and the hardcore fans of the comics love ninja zombie killers, but I'm not sold on the ninja zombie killer yet. It was an interesting shot with her and the two neutered walkers in chains though. I wouldn't say it was a great debut for a character, it was just a debut. It really did seem overly campy that after slicing the head off the walker on top of Andrea, that she stood there doing her best Emperor Palpatine impersonation for a bit after. You'd think a customary "Come with me if you want to live" would be the natural thing to say.

Farmageddon itself was a little disappointing to me. I know it was 20 minutes of shooting zombies in the head with pinpoint accuracy, but while it started with a giant wave of zombies coming at the house in one direction, it soon became a case of the house being surrounded. 50 zombies because 500 instantly. Instead of the heroes trying to hold off the zombies, it was just chaos brought by zombies being behind everyone (or behind trees, poor Patricia) at the worst possible moment.

I thought Herschel was a dead man tonight, and hearing from the producer, I guess if Dale and Shane hadn't have wanted off the show, he was to die in Shane's death episode. I'm glad he's sticking around for a bit though. He does add something to the show that they need. With Dale gone, getting rid of the older, wiser character would be as bad as that year Buffy got rid of Giles.

And we now know that "we're all infected." With that one sentence, the title of the show now officially applies to the heroes we watch as well as the zombies.

ps. Fucking Lori...

It's my understanding that Jon Bernthal (aka Shane) wanted to STAY on the show, but the plot necessitated him being written out.

Ya know, starting around the beginning of Season 2 I wondered if the title of the show might have a double meaning and refer to the hopelessness of the situation; that is, everyone is going to die eventually, so they're basically a bunch of walking dead. But yeah, now that we know everyone* is already infected, I guess everyone really is the walking dead.

* I haven't read the comic, so I could be already wrong on this, but I'm not convinced that literally everyone is infected already. Call it a hunch.

Be convinced. And yes, the title is a double meaning. I like Hershel and I am glad he stayed on. Shane had to go, you can't run another season of Rick and Shane at each other's throats and expect people to buy into it while Shane is spiraling down the drain. The writers were correct and making that call. Plus, Shane and Dale are going to do LA Noir with Angel's Electro Girl, they are going to do great things.

About whether or not everybody is "infected" in the comics:

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
The books have never far gone into the mechanism of zombification. The rule has simply been that if you die you become a zombie. A zombie bite doesn't infect you with something that makes you a zombie, it infects you with something that spreads throughout the body and eventually kills you. You become a zombie after that sort of death because that's just what people do now. The only thing that stops a zombie is brain damage, so if you die from that you are dead for good.

Lloyd: When I met Mary, I got that old fashioned romantic feeling, where I'd do anything to bone her.
Harry: That's a special feeling.

Ordered "The Walking Dead: Compendium One" from Amazon and the comic is so fast paced! Carl being given a gun made more sense, as he used it to save both Lori and Rick. He wasn't a punk kid constantly disappearing and stealing people's guns and telling his pops to "do it." They also called the "Walkers" Zombies.

Finally caught up with the second half of season 2 over the weekend. I know hee haw about the comic, but I really enjoyed it. Delighted T-Dogg survived Farmaggedon.

And if Shane had known, he could've put down Randall for good, and Randall wouldn't have tried to eat Glenn and Daryl. Rick's decision to not tell them put everyone in peril.
I disagree. At the time the group had just lost a member, seen their 'safe haven' go up in smoke and at least one of them had just been pulled back from the brink of suicide IIRC. Telling people "PS - we're all infected" at that point could've easily driven one or more of them to despair or fractured the group. At least nobody died because he didn't tell people. No way of knowing how many could've bought it if he had.
