I know that fast food is awful for us and I try not to eat too much of it, but I came across this site (blog.couponsherpa.com) and wondered if anyone has ever ordered any of these. I'm tempted to try some of it, but I'd never go into McDonald's and ask for a McGangbang.

Well I can see several obvious mistakes in the article just from the restaurants I'm familiar with, but whatever. When I worked at Burger King in high school, we'd really make anything as long as we had the ingredients for it. I'm not sure if they'll be familiar with the names that they list here, but you described it in terms of products already on the menu, you shouldn't have trouble (as listed in the article, the Veggie Whopper is just the normal Veggie Burger + onions + pickles, for example).

Heck, I remember this annoying family that asked for all of their burgers "well-done". Burger King uses a broiler, which is basically a big flame-broiled conveyer belt. You insert frozen patties on one side, and they are cooked when they come out the other side. So all we could do was put the meat through the broiler a second time. It must have been hard as a hockey puck by the second time through, but the customer asked for it.

I made my own. You stuff an entire McChicken into a Double Cheeseburger, not just the chicken patty. Anyway, I can only describe it as follows: It tastes exactly like McDonalds smells. And after my McGangbang, I didn't get anything from McDonalds apart from soda and ice cream for two years. I just couldn't.

Also, I love how on that website, they list things like the Banana Split Blizzard and Peanut Buster Parfait as being secret. Either Canadian DQs are different from American ones, or else they have a pretty lax definition of "secret."

Being a west coast resident, I practically live by the In-N-Out secret menu. I can't think of anything better than a Neapolitan milkshake.

Of course, the secret menu at In-N-Out is now pretty much "secret" in name only. Hell, the iPhone app actually has a "secret menu" button in the top corner now!

The Peanut Buster Parfait is definitely a menu item here, as it is the only thing I order at DQ. But the local non-chain place does it SO much better because they surround it with a crown of pretzel sticks.

Little Caesar's had a stuffed crust pizza on the menu 10-15 years ago. I had to make many of those.

LJS actually charges for extra crunchies now? That's just wrong.

That's too bad for you. I eat a McGangBang probably 60% of the time I go to McDonalds. It is delicious and it is only 800 calories and 39 grams of fat. (I say "only" but a Double Quarter Punder with Cheese is 740 calories and 42 grams of fat by itself.) Plus if you buy the Double Cheeseburger Mini Meal and the McChicken the whole meal costs you $4.00.

I often get a mcdouble and a mcchicken from mcdonalds. I've never mashed them together tho.

My favorite, and I've only had it twice, is if you get there at 10:30, order some sort of burger (Quarter Pounder) and an Egg McMuffin. Burger with egg and cheese is great.

I see it says that they'll put a pie in a mcflurry. Over the summer, my co-worker and I would get carmel sundaes and stick apple pie's into them. Mmmmmm....it's a delicious treat, for $1.50 each.

There was a Chili's close to a place I worked once upon a time. We'd have lunch there at least a couple of times a week, & generally just sit in the bar. Always had the same waitress, who appreciated tech geeks who tip well. When asked for a specialty version of something, her response was. "Hey, we've got a kitchen back there." This has since become an intrinsic part of the menu discussion process.

On the flip side (No burger pun intended.), a thing I'm seeing more often on arrogant high-end menus is "substitutions politely declined". If you don't like it the way we've got it written, then go someplace else. Nice work if you can get it.

Short of In-N-Out and a couple of other places, I don't think a lot of this stuff is something you can actually order by the names noted and expect the counter people to know what you're talking about. I think people just order multiple items and re-assemble ingredients.

Sonic will make literally anything you can think up with available ingredients on hand, and my favorite used to be a Chili Breakfast Toaster, which is a breakfast toast sandwich with chili instead of bacon or sausage (chili, egg, and cheese).

My favorite McDonald's item to bastardize is what I call the "McQuad". Order two McDouble's, discard the bottom buns, and merge the sandwiches. You get a four-patty burger with crowns and garnishments on both sides.

I also do this with the Filet-O-Fish when they're on sale for Lent, but since they put the cheese on the bottom, it's a little messier to accomplish.

I got chance to meet some TNA stars after the 1 year show this past June ... and I must say that Christopher Daniels & Jerry Lynn were probably two of the nicest, most humble guys I've ever met. Real cool ...
