Hello, friends. This week's 271 titles break out to 225 DVDs, 42 Blu-rays and four "digital" releases.
As usual, you can click on icons respectively representing links to a movie's IMDb listing, a TV season's tv.com listing, a film's website, The W discussion or John Orquiola's review. Click on a title to be taken to Amazon's listing, where you can place an order and we'll earn a small referral. Remember, titles are usually the cheapest just prior to release!
Titles in large italics were in the top 24 preorders at the time I put this list together. Blue titles are in Blu-ray, with a lighter blue for the Blu-ray 3D release.

If I were to buy ANYTHING this week, it would be the long, anxiously awaited, American release of Olaf Ittenbach's The Burning Moon.
I have this on a very worn and used VHS tape. It's picture is grainy and faded from it's being, I'll guess, a 5th or 6th generation dub. It's got terrible subtitles that isn't timed to match what the actors are saying correctly. the sound is also low on the tape, to where you have to turn your television up all the way to actually hear the sound. When I've watched this film, it's like I have to work at it to enjoy it.
Having said that, putting in all that extra effort just to watch a German film is very, very well worth it. This classic gore masterpiece is yet another 'Holy Grail' of the DVD age. Seeing THIS film released on DVD in ANY quality, is a Godsend. Seeing it come out come out with a clear, crisp picture, proper subtitles, AND uncut... well, to a gorehound like myself, that's like having Olivia Wilde offering me anal and saying she's a virgin. I'm saying this is something I NEVER thought would EVER see the light of day.
If you are so inclined to purchase anything this month... buy this.
Yeah, that was one of those films where I read the description and thought of you. Your ringing endorsement during your self-imposed giving up of buying stuff for Lent merely reinforces my certainty that nobody needs to see that film. 1/2 ;-)
All I can tell you about "Basketball Wives" is it premieres during RAW and just about every black person on Twitter watches it and lets you know they're watching it
I love that they expect you to buy the American Pie series NOW, with the fourth (!) movie coming out in April. This will of course render your purchase null and void when they have the American Pie 4 pack by the fall. Still, I do love the series, so I might bite on this when all four are available.
Of the new movies, I want to see Descendents, Tintin, and especially Young Adult. And next week is the Muppets!

I saw Tintin, Descendants, Melancholia and Young Adult.
None were really up to par with people's previous work (Young Adult wasn't anywhere near as good as Juno or Thank You for Smoking, but might be somewhere close to Up In The Air - Descendents was half the movie that Sideways was, etc.)
Tin Tin had a couple of nice scenes and Young Adult definitely had some laughs (mostly courtesy of Patton Oswalt).
I'm looking forward to the Swell Season doc, and I'm vaguely thinking about watching The Killing. Also, there's a movie called Abscentia, from a filmmaker whose short film I love. I'm not big into horror but I'm thinking about watching that.

Well, technically this is like the eighth one. Did you miss the four-pack of direct-to-video sequels also being offered?
This is obviously a rhetorical question, so I shall not answer...except that I just did I guess. And hey, whatever keeps Eugene Levy working is fine by me.
