Impact started off with yet another good video package going over Roode’s last few months where he cheated to win the title and what lengths he went to so he could remain champion and reviewing his feud with Sting centering on last weeks beat down on Sting. I especially liked Roode putting on Stings glasses. Roode’s promo was very solid and he drew good heat from the normally apathetic crowd. I don’t like that the were hinting at yet another retirement, I really liked Roode boasting about ending Stings career , as he bragged that he was able to do something that guys like Vader, Flair and Luger weren’t able to do. The was a good set up for later on the show.

Magnus and Joe Vs Morgan and Crimson got nine minutes, but we only got 3-4 minutes of action because they went to commercial break which ate up pretty much the entire supposed heel team beat down What we saw was not bad at all. Magnus and Joe really work well together. Crimson accidentally took out Morgan to set up the finish so it looks like they’re mercifully breaking up. It looks like Crimson is turning heel, as he blamed Morgan for the loss at AAO before tonight’s match. I am not looking forward to the Morgan-Crimson feud. TNA’s tag division is back to one tag team, man tag team wrestling is in a depressing state right now. I remember when TNA had some of the best tag teams in the world

I thought the Jacobs-Bully Ray segment was pretty good with Jacobs handling himself well on the mic and getting the crowd on his side. Jacobs in two weeks has shown more personality and potential than Garrett Bischoff has in the last six months. I know that’s not saying much ,but I think he’s shown more than most celebs or athletes that have made appearances in wrestling. I thought Ray was his usual good self on the mic boasting that he’s won 23 titles to Jacobs’ two and that Jacobs only rushed for 59 yards in the Superbowl. I can’t say I liked seeing Ray backing away from a non wrestler, but it wasn’t bad with him mentioning that he had a match later on.

The Ion-Shelley match was pretty solid match with some high flying and both guys even working in submission moves, but like all X division matches only got four minutes. I liked that Aries was on the show even if he did nothing, but eat popcorn and drink wine, but I would have liked to hear him cut a promo backstage, but hey a five minute segment with Garrett Bischoff is better, no? I know that they’re protecting him with non clean finishes , but I hate Shelley jobbing two weeks in a row after putting on a four star match at AAO. I like Ion, but I’d much rather see Aries taking on Shelley in a best of five or seven series that concludes at Lockdown.

The Hogan-Garrett backstage segment was not as terrible as their segments have been in the past with Hogan spewing gibberish. This week Hogan sounded like a normal human being, but I have no interest in this ”underdog” story where Garrett has more heart than anyone and there’s a target on Garrett’s back blah blah. What a waste of time.

Gail Kim Vs ODB was an okayish match with Kim controlling the action for the most and ODB coming back with power moves. Eric Young was really a distraction ringside jumping on the apron every second and was a distraction which was annoying. Madison coming ringside and arguing with Gail in addition to Young being at ringside made it feel like too much was going on at once. Gail going over clean was fine by me and I’m really glad she’s being pushed so strongly. I suspect she’s going to turn face sooner than later.

The video on Jesse Sorensen with sound bytes from him and his mom was really good and it’s nice to hear he’s home already.

Styles Vs Robbie E was a pretty solid five minute match with Styles holding things together and Robbie looked better in the ring than he usually does. Styles even pulled out a couple of moves we really having seen him use. Styles’ promo before the match talking about moving on from Kaz and Daniels and going after the world title was pretty good and set up the finish. Kaz attacking Styles without Daniels’ prompting adds some intriguer as Daniels sold being surprised. Not all that interested in a gauntlet match between Styles and Daniels and Kaz. I really wish they'd do more with Styles. Taz putting over Jersey shore during the match was bizarre considering you know Jersey shore goes head to head with Impact. That was strange. I really wish they’d get rid of the TV title it’s a useless title at this stage.

The Main Event match between Storm and Hardy Vs Angle and Ray was okay with a finish I didn’t love. I really liked Ray shoving Borash around and introducing himself. I didn't love that the attention of the match was on Jacobs rather than Storm. Jacobs is only around for two weeks vs Storm who's gonna be in the Main Event at Lockdown. Man was Jacobs over though. If he wants to wrestle after he retires from the NFL he could have a good future in wrestling. He is already better than Mongo McMichael not that it says much. I wonder what Storm and Bully will do at Victory Road.

The closing segment with Roode and Sting didn’t do much for me because Sting was a little too goofy for my tastes, as he’s morphing back into Joker Sting. The crowd was going nuts for Sting being done playing Mr. nice guy and him getting his revenge on Roode with the low blow. I’m not crazy about a Sting-Roode match, but it’s been inevitable for months. I hope to God that Roode goes over Sting at Victory Road or else he’ll go into Lockdown looking like a joke of a champion.

All in all, I really wasn’t crazy about the show, as it was a drop off from last weeks excellent show IMO. There wasn’t anything that actively bad, but I really didn’t feel the show. I am hoping we get a better show next week and I hope after Victory Road they go into overdrive in the build for Roode and Storm. I suspect this show will do a worse than usual rating with the first hour going against Linsanity.

I am two minds about Roode winning at Sting at Victory Road. Yes, it will cement him as a legit champion going into Lockdown. However, what do you do with Sting? If it is his final match, I guess that would be ok, but if it isn't they took one of the best parts of Impact ie Sting being in charge to be a jobber in a regular PPV. Joker Sting cannot run TNA without it turning into a bigger farce than it already is. They could have had someone else in that role like AJ. It will be great for Bobby, but it wouldn't shock me to see Sting win.

Magnus and Joe are the best options for the tag team division. Ion isn't. Shelly is over. Ion almost paralyzed a guy a few weeks ago, he has a flash in the pain gimmick and I don't think he is that safe let alone over to get these wins. I don't see what TNA sees in him. Gail's top was the MVP of that match.

Jacobs is fine, but it feels like LT/Bam Bam all over again. No cares about Garrett and it was nice like Graves said to have Hogan talk like a person. I thought he did great with his speech while Garrett continues to look like a dumb ass.

Why can Sting only lose in his "final match"? That's crazy talk. He can job to Roode here, go back to being Mr. Authority, and do another in his endless eries of potential swansongs at Bound For Glory.

Is it non-title? Because if this is to set up Storm/Sting at LockDown...man, heads are gonna roll.

They would not advertise Storm Vs Roode two months in advance and then do a bait and switch and do Storm Vs Sting which is a match that makes no sense. I'm sure the Sting-Roode match will be non title. I see no reason why Sting can't stick around as a authority figure after Victory Road, as it beats the hell out of Hogan or Bischoff playing a authority figure role yet again.

This is TNA. Plus, they kind of have been building to Sting/Roode for the last three months as well.

The promos ended up being fine, but I wasn't excited about another fake retirement storyline, which featured Sting again no less. I couldn't help but think of that Bound For Glory where Sting was going to retire and pass the torch to AJ. 3(?) years later, Sting is still in main events and is treated as the company's top face and AJ is back to mid-card feuds against Daniels. Here's hoping this works out better for Roode.

The tag title match was your usual Morgan/Crimson match. I'm curious who in TNA believes Morgan vs. Crimson was a good, hot match that fans are clamoring to see again. It's too bad there currently isn't another team, especially a good one, in that division for Joe & Magnus to feud with.

I don't care about Brandon Jacobs, but I thought he was far better than any of their recent celebrity guests. The main event tag was pretty good too.

Shelley/Ion was fun for the time it got. It's still disappointing that TV X matches always go 4-5 minutes, the division almost never gets a 2nd segment, and that Shelley's being used as an enhancement guy to put over Ion, who's far below Shelley in both talent and overness, to build Aries/Ion and will likely be left off the next PPV instead of getting a push himself going into a PPV rematch of what was apparently the only saving grace of last month's PPV and is far stronger than anything involving Ion. This feels like when they teased an awesome Aries/Shelley feud but went with a much weaker Aries/Kendrick one instead. I guess that's what you get for being the one babyface who worked well in the spot the last 6 or so months and being half of the best TNA match in months.

I wouldn't have minded a TV title change. Sure, AJ should be higher up the card, but if they must use him as a mid-card act, put the TV Title on him and use that as a vehicle for him to have more good TV matches instead of something to enhance yet another low level comedy act. The booking of that belt the last year (since AJ lost it coincidentally) has made it feel absolutely pointless. The AJ/Daniels/Kazarian stuff still does nothing for me. Every time I see Rob Terry, I find it baffling that they continually find roles for him yet have nothing for Doug Williams. At the very least, have Williams work a good chunk of house shows. Super green guys like Crimson & Garett, who they push on TV instead of sending to OVW where they belong, will learn more wrestling Williams than wrestling Morgan & Gunner

Last night's show wasn't all that bad but it wasn't all that good either. I thought it was better than last week's IW, but I wasn't particularly thrilled by anything that went on either. Of the two main promo segments I saw, the opening one with Roode was short & sweet with Roode doing a good job on the mic. The other one, the one that closed the show with Roode & Sting, did nothing for me at all. I'm just hoping that this thing with Roode & Sting ends at VR so that TNA can actually build some heat between Roode and someone who's actually trying to take his title. Wrestling action overall was ok, nothing special. To me, the best match of the night was the tag title match. The two teams worked together and put on a solid, 9 minute match with the heels getting a clean win. Shelley vs. Ion didn't really spark my interest all that much. Ion comes off as a very one dimensional heel and it's hard for me to get excited about seeing him face Aries, yet again, when Aries has been beating him in one match after another for months now. They packed a lot of action into the 4 minutes they had, but it came off more along the lines of an old X Division spot fest in the sense that there was very little selling from both guys whenever a big impact move was hit. Garett Bischoff & Hulk Hogan was nothing worth talking about. Gail Kim vs. ODB could've been better than it was. The comedy antics weren't terrible, but I'm just over the stuff that ODB & EY's character brings. Robbie E vs. AJ Styles felt like a random filler match that didn't do anything but further expose how much of a chump Robbie is and re-establish the irrelevance of the TV title. The main event was ok for what it was, but it ultimately felt like it was nothing more than a prop set up to allow Brandon Jacobs to get the better of Bully Ray. Maybe I'd have been more into it had I been able to check out the interaction between Ray & Jacobs in their promo earlier in the night, even though I doubt that it was anything earthshattering.

TNA may have released Brian Kendrick according to the Wrestling observer and others say the same because his profile has been removed from TNA's website which usually means the guy has been released.http://www.wrestlingnewssoaurce.com/news/23138/Brian-Kendrick-Released-From-TNA/ TNA is now down to five X division guys including Kid Kash and Tony Nese who haven't been on tv in a month or two.

I liked Kendrick's spunky baby face act in the WWE and I really liked his cocky heel act as The Brian Kendrick, but his zen like character in TNA was awful. Who in their right mind thought that would connect with the audience? I thought his matches with Douglas Williams was disappointing, but he had real good matches with Aries and Shelley. I wish TNA would have brought in Paul London to team with Kendrick. Triple G is right the X division has only a few guys in iut with the non use of some guys and the injury to Sorensen. The X division does have some life unlike the tag division. If Kendrick's gone I suspect he asked four his release as TNA rather not use guys rather than release people for some reason. I'd love to see Anderson and Mexican America follow him out the door.

Speak of the devil, where is Mr. Anderson? He has not been on TV since November. On Kendrick: If he actually is gone, it's no big loss. I was somewhat glad to see him get hired because he was quite good at one time, but I found his TNA run very underwhelming at best. His promos were awful, his various gimmicks were also awful and made it impossible to get behind him or take him seriously, him as the top face in the X Division were total failures both times they tried it and both times got in the way of pushing guys who would have done well in that spot, and his two PPV singles matches against Aries and, to a lesser extent, his TV match with Shelley were the only good matches I recall him having in TNA, and even then, they weren't great or memorable.

The one downside about this is it means the X Division is even more depleted with the release of Kendrick and the injury of Sorensen that'll keep him out for a very long time. It's still as lacking in quality talent as it was a month ago, but I'm not sure there's even enough bodies to have a full, fleshed out division. The division currently has, what, 2 babyfaces? It also only has 2 all around great talents, one of which should be leaving the division soon when his tag partner returns, a bunch of green guys who are also woefully lacking in the promo department, and, uh Kid Kash. They really need to hire a couple new guys, preferably ones who aren't super green this time.

Kendrick hasn't been great shakes outside of TNA since leaving WWE. It just may not be working for him anymore.

Is Shannon Moore still around? Not that's a big help.

I think TNA may not be as interested in spending on the X Division guys now, and are stuck with a greener group of guys at the moment.

He unfortunately is. Shannon Moore wrestled last week on Impact, in a X division tag match, and at AAO against Robbie E. Any idea on whats the deal on Anderson?

From what I read he was making a movie. There was also reports that creative has nothing for him at the moment. He did wrestle at a couple of house shows a few weeks ago.

Given the genuine love he was getting from the crowds, this is astounding.

Anderson after all those turns wasn't really all that over anymore though. I never understand why he got over in the first place, but this is the same fans in the Impact Zone that went crazy for Lance Hoyt at one time and Matt Bentley because of the Bentley bounce. I don't get the appeal of Anderson, he is a below average worker , and he comes off as really annoying and obnoxious IMO. I enjoy the product a lot more with him not around. The only guy I find more annoying and hate seeing more in TNA is Garrett Bischoff.
