The shocking parts here were that The Running Man and Remo Williams were adapted from a book.
IIRC The Running Man was another Stephen King book in name only adaptation, like the Lawnmower Man.

You can pick apart anything, and these days that's what the internet seems to be about. I go by the motto "It's ok to not like something, just don't be a dick about it." Mr. Plinkett does not. TPM is now almost 13 years old, I think people need to move on.
I will echo the love for Speed Race. The second half of the final race is the closest I have been to being on drugs* Every time I see it I am just mesmerized. Makes me tear up at the beauty of it.

Mike Z is pretty dead on. Internet critics have made livings off of bashing the prequels. When you could take that same logic to Matrix, Inception and even Gone with the Wind. We are cheering for slaver owners, people. Granted TPM is not a great movie, I would somewhere between good to just ok. Just because, its getting the big 3D release also doesn't change the fact that people ripped it to shreds, because they wanted to follow the internet sheep even though it was getting good reviews 3 stars from USA Today saying "Worth the wait" and Ebert gave it thumbs up. Its only after the cool kids at AINC decided to bash it at the same time making a ton of traffic for spoilers about the prequels did they make the prequels, the worst thing to happen to movies since Ted Turner saw color.

You liked GI Joe, but not Muppets. Ok, I'm gonna have to reconsider watching Chronicle now as you are apparantly my opposite.
The Village - M. Night gets a ton of heat and every movie he did after Unbreakable got progressively worse, but I think the The Village was still good. I thought the whole safety at all costs was pretty relevent to post 911 issues, and everyone was good in it.

Whatever, dude. Your loss if you don't see Chronicle. I'm done talking about The Muppets. I've said everything I'm ever gonna say about it.
I'll throw one more out there, because I know people who loathed this and others who don't care for it, but I thought it was pretty great. And I think CRZ liked it too.

I liked it better when it was called Running Out Of Time (The W at Amazon). It was a total ripoff of the book. That is why I hate it because I guessed the whole plot rather quickly because it seemed very familiar.

Regardless of thievery, I also enjoyed The Village, up until the ending of course. Furthermore, I really enjoyed Lady In The Water from M. Night.
But to be fair, I'm not just a blind M. Night supporter. The Happening was a terrible movie. Terrible.

Can this be TV series too? I never hear much good said about Star Trek: Enterprise - but that is my favorite of the four series - just a lot of cool aliens, and Joleane Blalock
We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

I loved it too. That last two seasons was so much better than the first two. The search for the Xindi weapon was very different and it was a nice change of direction and season four was really getting interesting.
I can understand all the hate as is was a very different series than all the Trekkies were expecting. The ship was more advanced looking/detailed than Kirk's Enterprise; the temporal cold war; the Xindo attack on Earth that was never mentioned on any other series.
I do not feel that Star Trek was rebooted with the latest movie, I feel that the reboot was really started with Enterprise and the temporal cold war mucking up the timeline.
That series finale...what a crock of shit that was. It was a glorified TNG episode.

Memento. Everyone I know hated that movie. I know it was not universally panned, but among my friends, they all thought it was awful. I remember walking out of the theater blown away by that movie. My wife and sister looked at my like I was high and both agreed it was the worst movie they had seen - and they never agree on anything.
She's Out of my League. It got panned, but I thought it was a decent rental and laughed more than a couple of times. Not a great movie, but no where near as bad as the reviews had it.
I have proclaimed my love for Speed Racer here in the past. I even wrote a review of it. It was my favorite film of the year it came out. I also loved G.I.Joe quite a bit.
Hudson Hawk. Why did everyone shit on it when it came out? I remember going to see it with a friend when it opened; at the start of the film, the theater was about 2/3 full and by the time it ended there were about 30 left in the theater. I loved it, I laughed through the whole thing. I know very few people who feels the same as I do about this film.
Another one was Bonfire of The Vanities. I admit I did not read the book before seeing the film. Perhaps if I had, I would have hated it. Instead, I still like it and even have the DVD of it.
I totally understand why people hate The Happening, but damned if I can't help myself from watching it. The script is terrible and Marky Mark is god awful... but I just really enjoy that film.
The remake of The Wicker Man is another one where I can understand why people would walk out of it and demand their money back. Personally, I see it as a comedy. It makes me laugh all through it.
I quite enjoyed Waterworld. It was a good popcorn movie and the aquatic fights on jet skis were fun.
Now no one actually likes Little Buddah... but I have warm fuzzy memories as it was the only movie my friends and I were the only people still in the theater at the end (the rest of the audience actually walked out-- about 20-30 people) because we started to MST3K half way through (no really don't go watch it, it isn't awesomely bad it is just bad. Keanu as the Buddah is the BEST part)

I actually prefer the first two season of Enterprise. Lots of "hard" sci-fi stories, and exploration going on. It was incredibly interesting when I gave it a second chance and got around to watching it last year. I was actually kind-of sad when they started all of the fan baiting in the fourth season.
