Imagine Friday Night Lights mixed with X-Men, Superman II, Spider-Man, Unbreakable, and Cloverfield made at a fraction of the cost. A remarkable low budget superhero tale filled with "how'd they do that?!" moments. Really impressive, fun, thrilling, worth seeing.
Easily better than all of those movies you mentioned combined, especially Jumper and I Am Number Four. I sort of liked Push, it just had a shitty screenplay.
Chronicle is the rare beast that builds and builds throughout and then actually overdelivers in its third act.
The Death and Return of Superman skewered hilariously (and pretty accurately) by Max Landis, writer of Chronicle (and son of director John Landis), along with his celebrity friends, Mandy Moore, Elijah Wood, Simon Pegg, Chris Hardwick, and even Ron Howard.

Orq...just when I think you can't get any dumber, you go and do something like recommend Chronicle...
AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!
This was a fun movie. I think the crude "found footage" style actual helped give a lot of the scenes an extra punch. The best parts of the movie focus on the guys doing what normal high school boys would do with newfound powers (blowing up skirts, playing football 20,000 feet in the air).
Also liked how they used one superpower (telekinesis) to give them all the usual superhero power sets (invulnerability, flight, etc.)
My only problem is the ending. The least interesting of the 3 leads is the one left standing. Now if Andrew had survived, I'd be really interested in what they could come up with for a Chronicle 2.

Thanks, I think. I'm still waiting for you to redeem yourself. Ho ho, I kid.
I've seen Chronicle twice and it was just as good the second time. In fact, it's more fun the second time in a way because with the "surprise factor" gone, you can more easily admire the craft the filmmakers put into making it.
