According to Bryan Alvarez of Figure Four Weekly, the match is a "done deal".

I love it.

Wrestlemania 24 was the 2nd best ever Mania, only behind X-Seven, in my opinion. And Show vs Mayweather was an entertaining match which really added to the show. Mayweather was tremendous in his role, and Show played his part well too. I don’t know a lot about Shaq, but I assume after the Mayweather experience WWE will guide him well. Surely they can’t mess this one up…

Yeah, expect Mayweather/Show had the fans shit all over Mayweather which is not what they wanted. Also, the Sumo wrestler was a disaster as well. I think Shaq will do better, but you have to find a way to turn Big Show heel you would think, you could do that with him knocking down AJ, yet does that make Bryan a face again? Seems awkward when it happens. I understand that celebrities in matches since Mr. T in WM I is tradition, but I prefer them to be seen and not heard or wrestle. I wish they would kill the musical acts, too.

WM24, really over WM III, X, XIV, XX and X-8. Ok, each their own.

Well, it wasn't on week 1-2, but it was the night of the match.

I thought that match was so fun. Come to think of it Mayweather was actually kind of Daniel Bryanesque in managing to be a tiny heel going against a giant and finding ways to believably control the match. With Shaq/Show I think it could be babyface vs. babyface, two gentle giants getting mad, since they're both so likeable. But I guess Show could turn between now and then if need be.

The match itself is going to have that bowling shoe ugly vibe, but who cares? This is going to be entertaining as hell. If Charles Barkley isn't in someone's corner, I'm going to be disappointed.

There is absolutely no way they can turn Show heel that quickly. His is a stable career, an immediate turn is just not possible!!

Seems like the best way to go is a bodyslam contest. First one to hit the move wins. Lots of cheer spots to stretch time, lots of clubberin' forearms (which even Shaq can learn to do well), and Show can make that Hulk/Lex hiptoss slam look good.

Considering Shaq's career ended because of leg issues I don't know if he has a solid enough base to even pull off the hip toss slam.

I'll OK any gimmick so long as it removes Show's punch as a finisher. If he can't use that, the match can logically last longer than five seconds.

I think Shaq comes to play. Maybe try a suplex (a forward roll by Show with Shaq holding his singlet). Maybe a sleeper or clothesline. He might be one of the approximately 15 performers who will bust out a figure four in homage of the newly inducted Flair.

Who says Big Show will be the one who turns? Shaq didn't exactly leave the Heat on good terms, so he could be the heel to the Miami crowd.

Right, but you'd also have to portray Shaq as a heel on the TV building up, and with 24 NBA cities remaining that Shaq didn't burn his bridges with, odds are he'll be the loveable muppet on other Raws.

It really doesn't matter what happens once they are there as long as they hype it all the way there. I imagine Shaq is face all the way to WM and if they boo him he will probably go with it and heel it up. Shaq was made for this.

So, with the notion of the Big Show being hurt, I was tlaking to some people about who could replace him in the match with Shaq.

And floated out this very crazy idea:

Shaq ends the Undertaker's streak.

How much mainstream attention would this get Vince?

not going to happen, of course, a fun thought experiment.

I think, if Show can't go, they would go with Kane, since he's a big guy and known for being relatively safe and has worked in the past with celebrities.

I know the idea is big guy vs big guy, but why not match Shaq up with a mouthy smaller guy that can make him look better while getting some mainstream rub out of the deal?

The Miz would actually be the perfect foil, but he is already kind of somebody. Although, he'd be the right choice on the talk show circuit.

Dolph or Cody would be fun to see just to see them in a high profile match.

How are they going to build this? Big Show picking on the smaller wrestlers and someone say pick on someone your own size?

There's lots of angles they can go with Show vs Shaq but I think Shaq ends up having a wrestlemania moment by slamming Big Show (a bodyslam is actually one of the easier things to do, specially since Big Show sells moves well for a giant)
