The opening segment with Sting, Hardy, Abyss, Roode, Ray, Storm and Angle really didn't do anything for me. There was too many moving parts and while it was done to set up a six man main event the segment left me wondering why the heck Angle and Roode are so chummy all of a sudden. Angle screwed Roode out of the title at BFG and Roode mentioned him getting screwed lead to him deciding to turn and become the selfish prick that he is. I also don’t understand why Ray’s goal now is to play Arn Anderson and protect Roode and make sure he keeps the title. The mic work was uninspiring in this segment. The only thing I liked was when Roode mentioned how Sting is supposed to be objective, but can’t stop kissing Hardy’s tuchis and giving his second and third chances.

The set up to the knockouts tag title match was lame with Gail and Madison trying to drown Traci and Mickie making the save. Good luck trying to drown Traci with those flotation devices. The match was fine with Mickie and Gail being kept apart for most of the match as Mickie and Madison did the heavy lifting. The silliness with Hebner took away from the match a bit they should save that silly crap strictly to house shows. Gail beating Traci pretty much clean was the right decision. TNA has done a good job keeping her strong. I still think Gail is better off as a face and turning Mickie heel would freshen her up. I’m looking forward to Mickie Vs Gail at Genesis as they had a excellent match last month.

Sad to see Garrett Bischoff back. There was a sense of hope seeing him in the referees gear but that was quickly extinguished when Sting put him over and announced he’s not a ref but a wrestler and handed him some boots. I can’t wait to see him in the ring again, note the sarcasm.

RVD Vs Gunner was an okay match. RVD has really slowed down in the ring and is unmotivated as it gets. I really hope the rumors are true about RVD heading back to the WWE when his contract is up in March. Gunner is not bad in the ring and held it together. The story of the match was Gunner didn’t need Flair(who was banned from ringside) to hold his own and take someone out. It made sense that the agents ran out to stop Gunner unlike the last few weeks due to Sting warning Gunner and Flair earlier.

Zema-Sorenson Vs Kash-Aries was a pretty solid match that got a few more minutes than most X division matches get on Impact. That said, it didn’t make much sense for Aries and Kash to get along since they have feuded they last few months and just had a match at the last PPV. Zema and Sorenson not getting along seemed forced then again Zema is a heel and Sorensen is the only face in the division even though he’s not over in the least. The crowd was their usual awful selves , but even if they were in front of a better audience they may not get much of a response because TNA hasn’t given people reason to care about any of the guys besides for maybe Aries. The four way match should be pretty solid and I hope Aries holds onto the title and gets a feud he can sink his teeth into vs a strong face.

Magnus and Joe Vs Styles and Kaz wasn’t as good as expected and only got like five minutes or so. It was also turned out to be more about an angle than about the match. Magnus and Joe did hit a couple of nice tag team moves and are far more intriguing as a team than Crimson and Morgan are IMO. As far as Kaz leaving AJ alone to get beat well it’s interesting I guess and gives Kaz something to do. Styles on the other hand has fallen pretty far after his feud with Roode. I do think a Daniels-Kaz tag team could be pretty damn good and add something to a dying division. I do think it’s weird the announcers ignored the fact that Daniels was in Kaz’s locker room before the match. It was a story they could have told during the match but they said nothing until Daniels came out. It doesn’t make a ton of sense to throw a storyline out there like this on a go home show. I do hope this doesn't just lead to another Daniels-Styles series of matches as their feud is totally played out.

The build up to the Main Event was pretty solid when the announcers mentioned it was coming up going into every commercial break and by having the heels and faces cut promos backstage. The six man match was pretty okay and one of the things that I liked was when Storm was hot tagged in he went after Roode before he went after Angle reminding the viewers he hasn't forgotten about Roode. The post match happenings was the much bigger part of the story though. I thought the end of the show with the faces getting beat down by the heels to end the show was a effective end to a go home show with the set up being watch the PPV to see the faces try and get revenge and that’s a much better finish to a go home show than TNA usually has. I sure hope Hardy doesn't end up getting his revenge as that will just cut Roode off at the knees.

All in all, this was an okay show that had a good finish and did give the X division guys some time to have a good match. There was also an interesting storyline with Kaz-Daniels and Styles. That said, giving Eric Young three segments on a go home show and bringing Garrett Bischoff back as well annoys me. I also would like to see them make Roode look stronger as he got beat down by Hardy first and then Storm during the postmatch brawl and only got the advantage with help. I will say that Impact has improved by a good deal the last five months and while there was issues with the show they are not the same type of issues or as many as I had six months ago.

They had a nice long break between taping the shows. I wonder what the chances are of Jeff Hardy showing up to the PPV all fucked up. 50/50?

I made it to the RVD/Gunner match. I do like Sting as the new owner, GM or whatever. He seems more natural and his confrontation with Flair really never gets old. His scene with Bischoff's son was pretty good in a 1980s After School Special by the way. Gail winning clean was the right choice. Glad, I did not stay up to see the Russo swerve in a tag match that looked awesome. TNA in this weird place where the things they are doing good are really interesting and their bad is unwatchable.

Classic WCW-era divide-and-conquer tactics. Side-drain people like Joe, Kaz, Styles and Daniels into feuds with each other so the big boys can play on their own in the main event.

At least Roode remains champion. They wouldn't be stupid enough to put the belt on Hardy, would they?

I caught Kurt Angle on Fox and Friends today and he did a better job promoting TNA in ten minutes than Hogan did in his fifty interviews headed into Bound for Glory. Good job by Angle.

Hardy is trustworhy again crap and Abyss aside, the opening promo was good. Storm's momentum has taken a big hit the last month. The main event was kind of meh. It did a decent job of trying to get me excited for those PPV matches but I'm just not interested in Hardy main eventing or another Abyss push.

I question putting Traci in a pool brawl given how sloppy she is in a dry ring. I wonder if creative knows how easy it is now a days to get actual porn.

Yay, Garett is back! I feared he was going to be sent to OVW for some much needed training or sit at home for 2, 3, or even 4 months as has happened recently to the likes of Shelley, Williams & Magnus who, unlike Garett, can work a match that lasts more than 4 minutes, can do more than 4-5 basic wrestling moves, aren't awful on the mic, and can't count all their pro matches on one hand. Now he can go back to either the main event or plum 5th quarter slot. Huzzah!

I don't need to see RVD/Gunner again. It appears RVD will 1/3 ass his way through another bad-boring PPV match Sunday while AJ will sit at home.

"Many think 2012 will be the year of the X Division." Who thinks that, Tenay? Tonight's X match was the only one not in the rundown at the top of the show, the champ disappeared for 2 weeks this month, 2 guys in the PPV match have done nothing to earn title shots, TNA only uses 3-4 X guys at a time, Aries is the only great talent in the division who gets (fairly) regular TV time, and most of the guys they use are super green, sloppy, unover &/or have no personality. That tag was decent though underwhelming since it was the first X match in a long time to get that much time. I'm tired of the stale Sorensen +1 vs. Aries/Kash match, and I think Sorensen is a poor top X babyface. The people in charge are guys I expect use the term "vanilla midget" yet they push such a bland, character-devoid, unover guy as a division's top face.

AJ/Kazarian vs. Joe/Magnus was fine minus the fact it was the finals of a month long tournament. The Daniels storyline came out of left field. This tournament felt overbooked and unproductive.

They didn't do a mitb match at last years Wrestlemania did they? I'm pretty sure they didn't. I believe that match is now exclusively at the mitb PPV.

Rumors indicate they'll bust it out again this year at Mania. So Rumor (MITB at Mania) + Rumor (RVD coming back to the WWE) = SUPER RUMOR.

Aries should have been fueding with Shelley 5 months ago instead of all the time wasted with Kendrick and Cash.

I freakin' HATE Gunner. There is nothing special about him yet he is pushed to the moon. At least Crimson LOOKS like someone who should win.

I feel like having a wrestler stop Gunner from pile-driving RVD would've made more sense than having the agents do it, since you could always set something up with that wrestler and Gunner down the line, and could maybe (Maybe) get that face over a little more.

You're probably right. The issue is that the wrestler that would make the save would be Garrett Bischoff and he's not getting over no matter how much noise his father has piped in when he's on TV. I would suspect they'll have Garrett interfere in the Gunner-RVD match at Genesis.

Aha! So that solves the mystery of Undertaker's WM opponent! Streak vs. Streak, as 19-0 takes on 4-0! Winner takes on the winner of another undercard bout, 1-0 Michael Cole vs. 2-0 Santino Marella

Not a fan of the writing of the Knockouts segments but I can't complain about the bikinis. the match was fun as well as having a good amount of time. I know half the net didn't like the EY segments but I think he's hilarious. putting Madison in a locker, classic.

As has been said, the booking of the X Tag match didn't make too much sense, but it was kind of ok. The push Aires is getting should be shared with the rest of the decent guys left like Kendrick and Shelley.

I keep hearing good things about former NWA National Champion Phil Shatter but it's not translating to me as Gunner. must be the writing and the fact RVD doesn't care any more. Also obvious Joe is just collecting a check. Kaz & Daniels want to be great but again hindered by bad booking. I legit fell asleep during the ME.

Being overly generous giving this Impact a 30 % entertaining.

If Shelley is brought back to feud with Aries it might mean Sabin is aways away from returning because the plan was to bring Shelley and Sabin back together. It could also be that Shelley is being used on the house shows just to knock the rust off and too much is being read into him being used at the house shows.

I hope the Kaz/Daniels situation leads to Evil Fortune regrouping with Roode/Kaz/Daniels/Flair. I miss Flair getting iced.

Part of me thinks the worst thing they could have done to him was just left him there and put the camera on him for a couple minutes. He's just embarrassing. Anyhoo, since there's not a thread for it, how about those Survivor Series?
