The "Slow Donny" episode of Just Shoot Me was so well-written. David Cross fakes being special/challenged just cause he's too lazy to do anything else.
"Cape Feare" was the peak for the Simpsons, imo.
The Owen Hart tribute episode of Raw was a real standout. Well done and classy considering how emotional everyone must have been at the time.
I agree with TKOK about Through the Looking Glass, although my vote might be for that, the Season 4 finale ("The Getaway") of Dexter, or the infamous "Douche and Turd" (S8 Ep8) episode of South Park
FWIW, I also have a place in my heart for:
- "Wooly Bullies", S3 Ep11 of 21 Jump Street - "Showdown", S2 Ep20 of How I Met Your Mother - "Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen", series finale of M*A*S*H
Either "In The Pale Moonlight", "For the Uniform", "The Wire", "The Visitor" or "Duet" from Deep Space Nine. A lot of good episodes in that series.
I think I'll take "For the Uniform" as the best of that bunch right now.
TNG: "Best of Both Worlds", of course, is the obvious choice. "The Inner Light" has already been mentioned. But "Ensign Ro" and "Disaster" were also fantastic.
West Wing: "Celestial Navigation". Honorable mention to the dual-episode "20 Hours in America", the dual-episode "In the Shadow of Two Gunmen", and "A Proportional Response".
"Got some partners I can count on called The Boogy-Woogy Sheep..." "WHAT?!?" --Ernie & Bert, "Dance Myself to Sleep", Sesame Street

Lots of good choices already mentioned ("Best of Both Worlds":TNG. "Goodbye, Farewell, Amen": M.A.S.H. Series finale of "The Shield") I'd like to add a few more...
"All Good Things": TNG series finale
"Mirror Image": Quantum Leap series finale
"Abyssinia, Henry": M.A.S.H

This. That was the BEST episode of a decent show and if Just Shoot Me was that good every episode, it would have been WAY more popular.
I loved the episode of TAXI when Jim gets his license (What does a yellow light mean? Slow down. Whaaaaat.....dooooooesss....aaaaaaaa.....yelllllooowwwww.....liiiiiight.....mean? SLOW DOWN. This went on for a while and it was hysterical.
The series finale of Six Feet Under was really good in terms of closure, as was the end of MASH. Fo rthat matter, so was Family Ties.
The episode of Friends where they bet the apartment was easily their best.
The episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm when Larry ate the Jesus cookie and the pube caught in his throat.

And now for an Anglophile choice: "School Reunion", Doctor Who, Series 2, Episode 3. I could replay the scene where Sarah Jane finds the TARDIS - and then the Doctor finds Sarah Jane - endlessly.

I think even before Liz's death, this was probably one of the top ten Doctor Who episodes of all time. Now, it means a lot more and to me its easily in the top five with Doctor's Wife, End of Time, the Season 4 finale and Vincent and the Doctor. Ironically I watched Reunion a day before her death, I don't think I can watch it again.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.
Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
Originally posted by JSTObjects In Space, the Firefly finale. Jubal Early at the time was a most interesting new character.
I loved this episode as a finale. It introduced a fascinating new character, opened up the universe even wider and then made it clear that the crew was still out there, still flying. From a storyteller's perspective, ending on that episode was genius. It made sure those characters would live forever in viewers minds. That episode is a lot of the reason that there's so much passion for Firefly long after it went off the air.

I once knew a married couple from work that couldn't quit and went to a hypnotist. They thought it was a waste of time, but a friend of theirs talked them into it and said it was the real deal and it worked on him.
