Would I have rather seen Oklahoma State face LSU than an Alabama rematch, yes. But, when you can't hold a 24-7 lead, you lose control of your destiny. There is a Big XII bias in the computers. How do they all have Oklahoma in the top 10, with most having them in the top 7? And a few have a mediocre at best Texas at 13? The 'oddness' of the computers might be the reason that TCU didn't bump up to the top 16 and get an automatic bid. Would also rather have seen Kansas State as the at-large instead of Va. Tech in the Sugar Bowl.

When questions like this come up, the answer is always "strength of schedule". Billingsley and Sagarin have the SEC ahead of the Big 12 in terms of conference strength, the other 4 have the Big 12 ahead.
Too bad for Houston. That loss to Southern Miss cost C-USA $10 million.
I think its a lot of bullshit. Iowa St. has more wins over teams with a record over 500 and has more top 25 wins. As much as people like to blame the computers, its the human voters who made this happen. So, we have another SEC champ in this system.
My Irish get to play FSU in the Champs sports bowl on Thursday before New Years. I love the match up, hate the bowl and the day. Thursday? Really? I also don't know how a 7-5 Auburn or Texas gets a BCS ranking when ND is 8-4. Sitting out helped out Bama, but not other teams? Again, a lot of bullshit and too much power given to voters who are SEC biased.

Yeah crappy night for the game, but I'm happy enough with the matchup. The way the defense has been playing they "should" be able to shut down Notre Dame. The way the offensive line has been playing, we'll be lucky to score 20 points.
Northwestern made a bowl game. We had a mediocre season. There are too many bowl games.
Northwestern hasn't won a bowl game since 15 years before I was born. I don't know quite how I'll feel if we do it in a year when we only went .500 and then beat another 6-6 team in a bowl.
Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you... Oklahoma State getting screwed is probably the worst BCS outcome since 2004, and the blame totally falls on the human voters for showing favoritism to the "big-name" schools within the power six conferences and being obstinate in their decision making without properly examining the profiles. You put Oklahoma State and Alabama's seasons up against each other blindly ala the NCAA basketball tournament committee, I guarantee you the Cowboys would get picked every time.

K-State is a direct victim of the OK State screwjob. Had the Cowboys jumped past Alabama into the national title game, the Fiesta almost surely would have replaced them with K-State rather than Virginia Tech. (Not considering that in a truly just world, BOTH K-State and Virginia Tech would have been left out in favor of Boise State.)
smark/net attack Advisory System Status is: Elevated (Holds; June 18, 2006) While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.

Against a 6-7 UCLA team no less. I think that pisses me off more than the rematch in the "championship" game. It is bad enough that they reward .500 teams with the chance to get selected to a bowl, but a team with a losing record should never, ever, get to play past the regular season.

UCLA might have declined to play in the Pac-12 championship if they hadn't gotten the exemption to make a bowl at 6-7. That would have been quite the embarrassment for the conference.
I'll never get why people say there are too many bowls. So what? We get more football, I'm all for it.
I would have liked to see Ok st versus LSU, but they weren't really "screwed" here. When you compare loses, Bama has a big edge. Oh well. Seeing OSU against Stanford will be fun anyway.
It's funny all the talk of a plus one now. Say OSU had gotten it's chance against LSU. Then LSU wins and Bama wins its bowl game and you get a plus one rematch so what did you fix?

Uh, OSU gets its chance against LSU?
Yeah, but I don't really care about that, me being me. I mean I don't think most people believe they'd win that game anyway. We got the two best teams and a perfect matchup in OSU/Stanford. I'm happy as always with the bowl lineup.
I actually believe OSU can beat LSU. LSU has looked liked dogs in the first half of most of their games. Someone needs to put up points on them and learn how to tackle Honey Badger then LSU is done. Georgia left 21 points on the field and the idiot refs who let that return count. OSU just needs to play loose and put up points. If they can keep Oklahoma from scoring a TD for four quarters they can do that to LSU.

So the BCS rules are meant to satisfy wmatistic and no one else should have an argument? Got it. Have your opinion but don't act all mystified why someone could have an opposing viewpoint.

There's your problem right there. If it was that easy, someone would have done it by now with their schedule. They beat the Pac 10 champs, the Big East champs and went undefeated in the SEC. I'm done doubting Les.

What? Where exactly did I act "mystified" that someone could have a different viewpoint about that? I gave my opinions, said it wasn't a big deal to me either way. Not sure why you're all pissy about it.

And I told you "OSU gets it's chance at LSU." That's what it fixes. Who cares if they lose, some people think they deserve a shot at it.

Not pissy at all. Just wholly amused by your arrogance. When you dismissed my response with "Yeah, but I don't care about that", I thought it was amusing that you had expected me to respond with a answer based on what you care about.

You fix the "not giving Oklahoma State a chance"-part. I find it funny that the argument against Oklahoma State getting the spot is "well, they shouldn't have lost", when Alabama - you know - lost, too.
