16 months after his ankle(?) injury, Skip Sheffield is back. PW Torch has a pic of his return at a house show. (pwtorch.com)

Sheffield returns to WWE rings in a WWE Universe long since past The Nexus, or The Corre for that matter. And he went on the DL before my calling him "The Tank of the Nexus" ever had a chance to catch on somehow, perhaps as a trending topic on Twitter.

Ha, I've been waiting months for an opportunity to finally post this little gem:

(I didn't know how to insert pictures into posts at the time. In retrospect, I feel that it was worth the wait.)

Poor guy, to be out of action for that long and come back now when there's absolutely nothing for him to do. I mean, what DO you do with him at this point?

Obviously you bring him back in a Nexus T-shirt, have him act like it's still June 2010 and react with utter denial whenever anybody attempts to convince him otherwise.

That's a pretty good idea. I mean, the Nexus really never had a proper ending.

I love it. Reminds me of Scott Steiner in late 2009 with his one man Main Event Mafia.

Was there some kinda copyright problem with The Nexus or something? Seriously! You can't put people in a Nexus T-shirt, or use the Nexus's theme song or TitanTron, in WWE '12. Nor do they mention The Nexus except via allusions on WWE programming.

Love the idea of him coming back in denial.

He should come out to the Meow Mix jingle theme, as that was the most memorable thing about him when John Cena nailed him with that in a promo.

He's a classic bodyguard for a weasel heel. Christian did wonders with Tomko, and new muscle could get him wins over Sheamus.

Otherwise, team him with Claudio. Unless the WWE signed Hero too.

Eh... throw him in Vickie's stable as her new Hercules-type muscle dude. With Ziggles potentially flirting with the main event scene, it's probably only a matter of time before he goes it alone, so Team Guerrero might be needing some fresh blood.

Right off the break put him in the ring with Show or Henry, make him look somewhat credible, but doing the job. Team him up with Ezekiel Jackson (who is also not busy at the moment) so we get a solid power tag team in the WWE, who as we remember, is trying to refresh it's tag team division.

Hmm. Wade Barrett is re-establishing himself in a big way via the Barrett Barrage, Dee-Bryan is showing some newfound aggression, David Otunga has a high-profile role as legal council to John Laurinaitis, the Capetown Werewolf is toiling in obscurity, Heath Slater and Darren Young have both recently come back from suspensions, and now Skip Sheffield has returned from injury. New New Nexus anyone?!
