Since graves9 didnt start a thread on it imma gonna do it. My thoughts he opening promo was fine, minus Hardy, and I greatly enjoyed the Roode family videos, until they overkilled it.
Still don’t give a modicum of a shit about Garett Bischoff or see why they should waste multiple segments a week on his storyline. That Gunner segment was pretty bad. Does the world need to see Garett/Gunner III?
The 3-way tag was kind of meh and sad. The next tag title match is Crimson & Morgan vs. Pope & Devon. I remember when TNA not only had credible, legitimate established teams, but good teams and interesting tag matches.
The Aries/Kash promo was all right, but the division still feels stale and underused. I don’t know about that match. Most recent X matches have suffered due to there being no babyface in there who the audience is behind. Now they’re doing a heel/heel match. The action may be good, but the match may be flat. If not, it’s still a stop gap program and they have no good, over babyface set up to step in and feud with Aries next month. Going back to Kendrick or Sorensen feels very unexciting, and they don’t seem willing to use anyone else which in a sense says all those guys are worthless.I liked the Angle/Storm segment.
After watching RVD/Robbie E, I thought of all the guys like AJ, Joe, Roode & Storm who RVD could have put over even in a screwry fashion yet didn’t. I’m just not into Robbie/Young. I think there are so many better things they could be doing with that title and TV time.
The main event was very good. I’d ask why is Sting handcuffing himself to Karen when the whole point of a cage match is to prevent people from interfering, then I remembered Karen interfered in a cage match where she was banned from ringside. TNA sure knows how to protect their gimmicks sarcasm.

Robert Roode looks fantastic with the title belt. His main-event entrance presents him as a genuine star.

Jeff Hardy also looks healthier these days. Like "he'll be back in the WWE by Summerslam" healthy.

I didn't catch this weeks show because I really hated last weeks show so much that I decided to skip a week. Not a RVD fan at all, but jobbing to Robbie E? Even in screwy fashion? I'd prefer TNA putting the title on someone like Daniels or Bully Ray anyone would be better than Young or Robbie E. RVD would even be a preferable champ, and he and Daniels could feud over the title and give the title some cred.

one more thing the treatment of the knockouts is very awful and degrading . I just hate it. oh gotta ask anyone in the know what up with them refering to impact wrestling like impact wrestling world championship there were rumors that they were gonna change the name of the company but they still call it tna at times, so what the deal? Dixie doesn't wanna change the name of the company?

TNA seems to be getting a more tolerable main event scene, but there is still so much horrible stuff. Karen Jarrett and Bischoff's kid are getting more TV time than the entire X division combined.

The Knockout stuff boggles my mind. They have had good reactions when they've run it as a serious division, yet they insist on going the Divas Eye Candy route. But then, that is how they deal with everything, better to ripoff WWE than attempt striking out in a new direction.

They did change the name of the show and wanted to get rid of the TNA name to start fresh, but Dixie (and others) felt they had invested to much in the TNA name to give it up. I guess they're just using both as if they're they mean the same, which they basically do.

In my heart their name will always be NWA-TNA.

I am happy/amused to hear that Robbie E went over Robbie VD.

Agree on the Knockouts. They were presented as the opposite of the WWE divas and really were pushed as athletes. The division was built on the backs of Kong and Gail, who put on classic matches and were actually ratings draws. The knockouts still draw the highest quarter hour ratings on a mostly weekly basis. The gauntlet match drew a 1.41 rating a few weeks ago and instead of build on that they decided to go the eye candy route.

Agree on the Main Event picture too. I am however worried that Hardy is getting a title shot next month and they might pull the plug on Roode’s title reign. I'm hoping they keep the title on Roode and build to a Roode-Storm match at Lockdown. If done right they can draw a better than usual buyrate if they do that.

While I agree that the Knockouts storyline is horrible and I'd rather see them wrestle, I can see why they're doing what they are. Wrestling is a live action cartoon. The best cartoon storylines are Tom & Jerry, Coyote & Roadrunner, Bugs Bunny & Yosemite Sam. So it makes sense to have Karen be the antagonistic, degrading loudmouth that the Knockouts eventually have to to bring down. We have gotten so used to the horrible, nonsensical, illogical booking that something more drawn out doesn't seem right. I think this is a case where Lagana & Pritchard are trying to take what WWE did in botching the Divas storyline and doing something where the knockouts rebel against KJ and show they can deliver in the ring. At least I hope that's where this is going and it is allowed to be brought to fruition. That being said, Mickie continues to look strong and more determined than ever.
A Double is the greatest man on the planet!
The rest of the show was meh but I have to say the Steiner stuff and the freaks/Abyss aftermath had me rolling.

I just checked out Impact on You Tube and there were things I liked and didn’t really like.

I really liked the videos of Roode’s family and friend talking about how he’s changed since he turned heel and he wasn’t the same guy anymore. It was very old school and very effective. I thought everyone played their parts well and talked about how heartbroken he was after getting cheating out of the title by Angle at BFG and led to Roode turning heel. I also liked Roode’s responses to the video as he explained himself very well. Roode is such a good heel that even the fans in the Impact Zone are booing him and rooting for him to get what’s coming to him and that is rare.

I thought the Main Event was really, really good. I really liked how Roode got Hardy and Styles to turn on each other in a cunning way. As Matt Tracker mentioned Roode carries the title very well and really carries himself as a huge star. The match got around fifteen minutes and told a real good story. Hardy really looked sharp in the match and looks healthy and motivated. We shall see how long he can stay on a straightened arrow.

Steiner’s promo where he talked about getting with his freaks nine days a week was hysterical and a real highlight of the show. I suggest checking it out on You Tube as it was vintage Steiner. I will say I don't like that Ray's becoming comic relief as well as he's a great heel and shouldn't be used to put over Abyss who honestly nobody cares about anymore and has seen his better days gone by.

I thought Aries promo was fine, but as Brian mentioned it’s a heel vs heel match up when he faces off with Kash and that likely will mean a quiet crowd no matter how good the match is. I really wish they’d actually put more of an effort into rebuilding the X Division.

The RVD-Robbie E match was the shits. RVD is mailing it in and has slowed down considerably in the ring and really doesn’t bring anything to the table in 2011. Robbie E and Eric Young bring even less to the table.

The knockouts all look great in bikinis, but having them washing cars in bikinis all show long is a sad ratings ploy. How bout just letting them wrestle? Gail Kim playing second fiddle to Karen Angle sucks too.

While I liked the Main Event I didn’t like the finish where Hardy had Roode beat and Roode needed Jeff Jarrett’s help to beat Hardy. What I liked even less was the end of the show as they’ve put much more build and effort into the Hardy-Jarrett feud and Match at the next PPV then they have to the Roode-Styles match as they haven’t taped into their history or anything.

All in all, this weeks show was much better than last weeks show and for the most part they’re doing a good job with Roode.
