I like to picture John Orquiola having this thread already typed out since 2009 on an unused internet explorer tab, just waiting for today to hit "Submit thread".

I'd say next Mr. Perfect. Shawn Michaels might be a little too strong, but then again if I watched Michaels in 1992 I wouldn't have thought he would have been "Shawn Michaels" either.

While most project he'll be in the main event, I think the unfortunate truth is that he'll end up as one of those guys that SHOULD be in the main event, but wasn't big enough.

I know Ziggler is the current IWC darling, but comparing him to Perfect is blasphemey. Hennig didn't sound like a 12 year old boy and Ziggler has never done anything that will be remembered as fondly as the original Perfect vignettes (and honestly, I can't see him ever doing anything that good).

But this is not a recent phenomenon. Ziggler has been compared to Perfect before he gained "Internet Darling" status due to his selling ability. Perfect was greater than the sum of those vignettes. Ring work, composure, and developing mic skills make the comparison valid.

We all have our heroes and heaven forbid anyone surpass them, but the fact of the matter is that Ziggler has a large fanbase and he's on the way up. The fact of the matter is that at a payperview that had The Rock on it, the crowd was chanting for Zack Ryder throughout the entire show.

Oh, also I don't want CM Punk in no kind of triple threat at Mania. He should be in a match with Stone Cold, as Stone Cold has said he would wrestle his last match against Punk.

Rock-Cena
Austin-Punk
epic Wrestlemania, as it should be.

No idea why someone would compare Ziggler to a guy he looks and wrestles just like.

1) I think Ziggler is fine for charisma. He's not at Perfect's level, but then again, just about no one will be. He's certainly got enough to hold his own in the company though.

2) This is a different time than it was for Hennig. We have no idea how good Ziggler is at promos compared to Hennig because his are all written for him by tools. If Randy Savage were to time warp from 1985 and try out for the WWE, he would be sent to FCW to learn how to work, then told to get a haircut, then told he was 'too small', then told he just doesn't have what it takes to make it and would be cut. A lot of things are out of wrestlers' hands now, and promos are one of them.

3) I don't judge the quality of a wrestler's work by the name they were given by a senile old man.

But what will become of all those hideous JoMoSapiens t-shirts that were made up?

I can see them being donated to a third-world country and the locals being like, "Uh...No thanks, we're good. We've still got two boxes of Miami Heat 2011 NBA Champions over here"

Holy Cannoli! Look, we all loved Curt Hennig, but aren't some of us in this thread perhaps overstating his greatness just a tad bit? He was a very good worker who benefited from that rare 'perfect' marraige of gimmick and wrestler, and yes, he had a certain physical charisma that Ziggler lacks, but let's not overstate things. 99% of his promos consisted of him saying the word perfect in every single sentence. "When you're the Perfect wrestler, you need the PERFECT mind, the PERFECT manager, and the PERFECT...RECORD!" It wasn't exactly the kind of stuff that packed the fans in to the rafters, which they literally hung from.

When Hennig came to the WWF, didn't he have several years of AWA under his belt? I'm sure his promos weren't as good when he just started.
Ziggler recently has found his voice imo.
The cockiness has been taken to a new level and it really helps him.

To bring it back to Morrison, the fact that he'd go to TNA and feud with Aries is somewhat telling that even TNA realizes he is not the biggest name out there.
Obviously a feud where he can get over on his skills is what's good for him, but it IS telling.

If he can somehow go back to being the shaman of sexy/guru of greatness/etc etc without breaking copyrights he might have a chance.

I wonder if he'd do well in ROH. Promos are less important there and he'd be able to have longer matches, allowing him to do his insane spots.

I think he's in it for the fame rather than love of the game, or he would sign for RoH which, with their current expansion, would no doubt jump at the chance.

It's weird. He's a great worker, and a good asset to any company's midcard. But I've not once rooted for the guy in a match, beyond enjoying him from a workrate standpoint. And he's clearly got attitude problems. He was never going to be "the guy" in the WWE, but he had the tools to be a perennial upper-card presence. I think bringing he AND Melina in is a recipe for disaster, unless they plan on playing up that real-life "whipped boyfriend" stink that's started to follow him.

Touche' and Touche' sirs.

And just so I contribute something relevant to the subject. Morrison has a ton of potential, but he doesn't seem to have the passion it takes to go all the way. If Melina goes with him to TNA, expect drama within 3 months.
