Ace makes the Cena/Ryder tag match, and Ryder is taken out by Truth/Miz. Ace then decrees that match will be one-on-two. Cena wins by DQ but takes a beating. Ace berates Miz/Truth and tells them to walk. He then stops them to say his choice for Cena's partner didn't work so he should get a chance to pick his own partner.
That's wrong. The choice was fine. It was Ace's decision to let the match continue as a handicap match that didn't work. And Miz/Truth didn't even win despite the advantage. For Cena's win/loss record, the match worked just fine. But Ryder seemingly doesn't get that main event tag match.
Prepare for weeks of Miz reminding Cena that Rock cost him the belt at Mania, fomenting tension between the tag partners.
That MSG crowd is going to be exhausted cheering for Rock and booing Cena for the entire match.

Originally posted by lotjxRock joining Cena makes no sense. Instead of just having a heel faction for a few weeks taking guys out, we get Cena spitting out Rock's name for no reason. The WWE in their quest to sell out MSG let the cat out of the bag and made what could have been an awesome moment turn into "Yeah, we know" moment.
They weren't even pretending to keep it a secret. I think at some point during the first half hour, Lawler did the promo spot for Survivor Series, which had "Rock returns to action" and "first time in 7 years" plastered all over it.
But yeah, agreed, this was pretty bad in execution. Cena goes from HHH to Ryder to Rock? Just like that? It *almost* seems like Cena's trying to set Rock up.

Seriously. It was *right there*. They have/had at least two ready-made Traditional Survivor Series Match-Ups waiting to be booked. There's time to morph the 2-on-2 to a 5-on-5, but I won't hold my breath.
If you're a fan of Punk, you should be pretty happy that he's getting a solo spotlight in MSG.

I rarely get to watch RAW anymore, just rely on your recaps. While I greatly appreciate the effort, I gotta agree with Cerebus. That was painfully annoying to read.

I have to agree. I was trying to figure out what was going on in the Raw show and my brain couldn't process the switches from wrestling to football and back, especially with two Del Rios. If you do it again, use italics or a different font or something. Please.
So once again, they are blowing off a big event to sell a PPV that hasn't meant anything in over a decade. The Punk angle was hurt in large part to save the SummerSlam buy, and now they are blowing off Rock's return for Survivor Series.
There isn't a "Big Four" anymore. There is the Big Two, Rumble and Mania. So they might as well treat them as such and load up for the big blowoffs.

As been argued before, Mania is gonna sell in the gabillions unless Cena or Rock get hurt.
I agree with putting Rock in MSG for one of the Big Four. That Crowd + That Guy = Imma Buy This PPV.

Personally I have no interest in seeing Rock in a tag match. I'd much rather just see Miami go nuclear for his first appearance back.

Mu guess is that big pop will happen when he comes back no matter what. Assuming you weren’t being sarcastic.

-Where the hell was Barrett's corsage? That epitomized him on NXT.
-Who was the well-endowed hottie Bowtunga was chatting it up with backstage? Does Jennifer know?

-Cena's Bel Air references were lame-ass. Ooooh, he mentioned the hot gal on there. Lame. Ass.
-Vickie is getting skinnier by the week. Cougar, indeed!
-Ziggler is the shit. How long until they FINALLY change his name and give him a chance? I got no problem at all with him having "PERFECTION" on his trunks as Hennig would be proud of him, (et al: drop kicks, selling, everything).

I like to think that, right after he did his "No, I'm OK to walk you guys whoooooooooaaaa (collapse and go rabid)" spot and the cameras went off, he popped back up and yelled "BOOM! See, THAT'S why my wife and father-in-law created a vanity movie production operation around me, and not at all because I was jealous of The Rock like I know you all say behind my back whenever ads for my shitty movies air!"

And it was, like, a three-stage reference, too. What, he couldn't work in a reference to Geoffery and both Aunt Vivs, while he was at it? On the other hand, he did make Punk look like a chump by getting the Skateboardin' Ace reference in before Punk did. Sometimes I'm convinced they two of them have a sidebet going on who can get the most inside references on air during the year.
Otunga was the real star of that segment, managing to get his travel thermos into the shot in his ten seconds of screen time. Hands down, that thing is the Raw MVP these days.

Reminded me of the "video game drop kick". Shades Curt "Mr. Perfect" Henning & Bob "Thurman Sparky Plugg" Holly.

As a huge Ric Flair fan, I, of course picked this up on WWEShop as soon as it was released a while back. I also ordered his book online when it first came out and got the free "To be the Man.. you have to beat the Man! T-Shirt.
