Damn I was kind of hoping to see Triple H vs a Broomstick too. I understand why Vince had to show his political views(Linda is getting some heat again) tonight. Notice he had Lawler state that "Not all change is good". Me hopes Vince calls Hank soon.

When Punk came back after being gone for one single week we were told that supposedly HHH, Vince, and Punk were all working together on a long-term angle.

I don't know what would be more disappointing at this point. That being true, and this is exactly what they wanted to do, or that being false and that somehow this was what they came up with instead.

Either way it has reached the point where apparently the only entertainment anyone can take from the show is oddly conceived joy at other people not liking the show.

You missed it. Michael Cole plugged himself as trending on twitter... again....

I don't like the way the show played out but they did need to remove HHH from that role and JR's role was only temporary on the air, but it was a really stupid angle of firing him, considering Lawler and Cole did the same thing. The angle also allowed Miz and Truth to get back on TV, although it's a mystery if they paid their $250,000 fines or not.

I also don't understand why Johnny Ace is getting such a high profile role, as others have said, he has zero TV personality.

I was just waiting for Vince to say that WWE was Too Big To Fail.

Cole, in his most somber voice of the night, telling us that Cody Rhodes, ladies and gentlemen, put Randy Orton's head in a paper bag, was the funniest thing said or done on this show all year.

Way to stick up for your best friend, Lawler. You asshole. JR getting fired is a much better reason to walk out.

I just have to wonder if all this crap we are getting is the result of Kevin Eck's input as part of creative?

I think this show and angles were changed at the last minute. It was just out of snych the whole night.

And does Cena, Sheamus, and Punk not standing with their fellow wrestlers make them scabs (picket line busters)?

It's their own fault, but the extra PPV squeezed into this part of the calendar is really hamstringing the booking. Hell in a Cell with two weeks lead time barely had 4 matches set to sell it, Vengeance isn't doing much better after last week was largely devoted to the big TV angle.

But you can see the seeds planted for Survivor Series, with the Cena/Punk/H (Rock) Team, Miz and Truth acting for Johnny Ace, the Vicki stable expanding to go against Air Boom/Ryan. Orton vs Rhodes could be intriguing for the booking, if not for the promos - at least the matches should be good.

Laurinaitis is the cardboard, cartoon villain who will be able to take bumps when the time comes for retribution. Which is the one advantage he has over the anonymous GM podium. I was never sold on HHH being the main focus of the angle, but as I've said a few times now - H has been booked as a face all along, the team up with Punk is not entirely without logic.

Also, Punk got a stronger reaction than I expected he would in a place like Oklahoma.

What everyone pointed out about HHH burying almost everyone in the opening promo goes for me too, a thumbs down show to be sure. Interesting to me that Orton wasn't brought out in the opening segment.

And darn that Del Rio for mentioning Vince McMahon in a promo, it totally ruined the surprise return that was planned. I'm sure.

Oddly, that may be the best I remember JR getting treated on a Raw from Oklahoma City. If the plan was to have him back for just a short run on this storyline, I think that's even crueler than turning Michael Cole's obnoxiousness back up to 11 tonight.

Kevin joined the WWE a little over a month ago, so I'm sure he's at the lowest rung of the creative teams totem pole. It is silly to blame the new guy. They hotshotted the Punk stuff a month before Eck started.

The part where the four babyfaces were little kids putting on a play was pretty adorable though.

And then we didn't even get a whole match out of it, before pulling the plug. Wha? Afraid that 4 "little kids putting on a show" (& actually enjoying themselves!) would be more entertaining? I would have loved to see the Cena/Sheamus match, with Punk on commentary!

I know they don't care about anyone but the top four or five guys, but to actually book a show which comes out and admits that....unbelievable. They need to put their heads down, get through Vengeance and look towards Survivor Series.

The frustrating thing is that there's still glimpses of how good they can do it - mainly involving the SmackDown guys. Cody/Orton works, Henry continues to be awesome, even the duelling Sin Caras is preferable to Raw right now. Fucking Mason Ryan as a US title contender? Did they learn nothing from the Zeke experiment?

The best possible scenario for Johnny Ace as RAW GM is for him to get fired in real life and replaced as Executive Vice President of Talent Relations by an anonymous EVP-TR on a laptop. It'll make future endeavoring talent much easier.

Cole: "May I have your attention please! I have received an email from the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations. And I quote: WWE has come to terms on the release of John Morrison (real name John Hennigan)! We wish him well on his future endeavors!"

I watched the opening promo and remembered telling everyone as soon a HHH appeared this summer this would lead to nothing good. Tonight was the culmination of everything I feared. HHH buries the roster, Punk reduced to being HHH's sidekick, another boring heel GM, no logical resolution to anything they are doing and worst of all causing me to watch Jay Cutler play football. I could go into the number of things they did wrong, but what is the point, for all intensive purposes the WWE just got a reboot.

Well, that was close; I almost had to watch a RAW that would have been made up of long wrestling matches. Why would anyone want to see that? Truly, truly awful television. Johny Ace is literally the worst actor I have ever seen. He somehow emotes in a way that lowers the quality of everything he's involved with, like he's somehow acting backwards. I hate him so much. Now I'm just changing the channel every time he's on tv. The matches were bad, the talking segments worse, nothing made any real sense, and as much as I thought he would've learned better by now, HHH really did just bury the whole roster again. Try as I might, I can't think of a single good thing to come out of this show, and I was actually kind of looking forward to it all week.

I watched the first hour of this train-wreck and that was more than enough. One wonder what the morale of the locker-room is after last night. There is nowhere this angle can go that will redeem what happened last night. My guess is this is leading to Foley running the show, but so what? I cannot believe the hefty shit the E just took on their undercard.

Of course, not only that, but the top faces took turns giving Hunter a centre-ring hand-job. Punk should have walked and kept right on going. His credibility is shot.

Besides the show being bad for all the reasons already mentioned, it's a bit curious the political implications of the main program (if I may indulge myself). Considering the current political climate, with the Occupy(x) movement, the current anger at big banks & big corporations, and the middle & lower class feeling like they're being squeezed by those at the top, the company is running an angle where the good guys are main event faces who get all the breaks (i.e. the rich) siding with the COO, while the bad guys are the put-upon mid card/low card guys (i.e. middle & lower class) who feel like they aren't getting a fair shake. They're even called whining losers. All while being pitched to an audience that is predominantly middle & lower class, who are fully behind the privileged main event faces! It'd be like Austin being the heel against Vince McMahon, with the audience backing Vince.

Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Oh, yeah, Michael Cole was HORRIBLE tonight. I mean, he's been p. bad for a while, but at least he's been dialed back lately. But he had it dialed up to 11 last night.

Where are people seeing the undercard being thrown under the bus?

The Vickie stable all got built up as a dominant force with their attack after the Morrison match, the six man tag was good (with a new person, Mason Ryan, being built up), and Cody Rhodes is in a program with Randy Orton.

And the faces that came out with Triple H weren't really standing with him but pointing out that they're not just going to run away with their tail between their legs like the others - they're going to stand up and fight. Triple H didn't "bury" anyone.

And how, exactly, is CM Punk being lost in all of this? He's teaming with Triple H, for heaven's sake - and have you heard the chants?

I don't think so and you are not the only one making this point. The irony to what you are saying is pretty much the playbook of the GOP. Whenever there is a protest they don't like, they go out and call the protesters whiners, hippies and UnAmerican. All points Herman Cain made this week followed up by the rest of the GOP candidates. HHH's promo pretty much was the Herman Cain speech minus the UnAmerican part.

The entire storyline has been a pro-business storyline since HHH entered the picture. Instead of Punk being this generation's Austin, we get HHH, business savior turned into wrongly accused man by his employees. Its almost as if Vince is having a not so insider joke on the talent here and in the past. It does scream, not matter how much of an asshole or who wrong your boss is and HHH has been wrong in this, you should just be thankful you have a job in this economy now bow your heads and keep working for peanuts even though this company is making billions. The fans even though are lower and middle class, they are again falling for the same trap they tend to do which is cheer/voting against their own interests.

Punk, the so-called voice of the voiceless should have lead the walkout or at least not be on HHH's side. I have no idea what Punk is trying to do wit this character unless his tweets are real and that is all about the money. He did a good job of fooling us all that he actually wants change to the company. Punk should have been the one to lead this if anything else to give him something to do besides look out of place with the rest of the faces. If anyone got screwed over by this its the Punk character even though its becoming fairly clear Punk the man doesn't seem to give a shit. Punk is getting cheers, but he was getting that before HHH showed up.
