Real Steel is a rock-em, sock-em robot movie mash up of Rocky and Over The Top aimed squarely at 12 year old boys. But if you are one, or think like one, it's a knockout.

The Lovely Future Mrs. Hegemon--who is a big fan of both onscreen robots and Hugh Jackman--was just complaining the other day that when she mentioned Over The Top in relation to this movie, no one knew what she was talking about. So I suspect you've made her happy. B^)

Forgive me CRZ for replying to this thread when it's probably about to go off.. but!!!
The first thing about this movie is not that it's for little kids, it's that it will make you feel like a little kid.
The movie has a lot of heart, as cheesematic as that may sound, it's not just some bullshit HOW DO WE MAEK MONEY OUT OF FILM ADAPTATION OF ROCKEM SOCKEMS? It's a compelling, emotional piece and worth every penny to go see in theaters.
Spoilers:! When Atom knocks down Zeus, the whole theater burst into applause. Not cause boxing robots are cool (they are) but because this is a movie that just gets you so personally invested in its plot.

I really REALLY hope this doesn't become a plot point. What should happen: Lynn returns and says he got his wallet stolen. All the codes are changed and the card is worthless. What will happen (Because it's 24): Lynn returns.
