Man this show wasn't too good besides for the Roode stuff. Hogan announced he had a announcement that would rock the very foundation of wrestling and the announcers spent all show yammering about it. The announcement was that Hogan is ''retiring'' so now Hogan is the geezer that cried wolf err retirement and nobody is buying it.I mean besides for one woman in the crowd crying, but she might have been crying because she was at a wrestling show starring Hulk Hogan in 2011. Oh yeah tune in next week for a career retrospective or whatever. Smell the ratings! Gotta love the X Division match where all of the guys are all in the ring without intros like jobbers except for Kendrick. Having a five minutes ladder match for the #1 contender ship is typical Russo in having a gimmick match just to have one. The match was fine and Aries was great on commentary, but it meant nothing and the X Division is still dead. The Knockouts Match was an abomination. The whole story to the Tara-Madison Rayne match was Madison hitting on Hebner and him favoring her just awful. The match could have been good, but Russo needed to put his fingers on it. The less said the better about the Ink Ink-Mexican America feud the better. Hey Crimson is back and nobody cares about him still. Joe and Morgan are clearly more over, but it's Crimson getting the push. I did like Joe's beat down but in the end he's gonna end up jobbing to Crimson anyway.
I liked the opening segment with Sting, Roode, Styles, and Angle. Sting put over Roode very strongly and they told a good story with Styles wanting to get back to the mountain top. The Anderson-Pope match was overbooked with the whole nonsense with Devon's kids and Bully Ray interfeing. The Pope is lost in the shuffle and Anderson is so damn annoying. Roode Vs Styles was a strong match that is worth checking out on you tube. All in all, a pretty bad show and the only good thing was the continued strong push of Roode.

Hogan's retiring? When was the last time he had a match? And stop me if I'm wrong, but isn't he booked to battle Sting at Bound for Glory? (Smell the ratings).

He tagged up with Abyss Vs Flair and Styles back in March of 2010. As far as Sting Vs Hogan I think you mean smell the buyrates.

Didn't watch, but read the spoilers. From what I gather, we're supposed to believe that he's retiring as a means of avoiding said match with Sting.

I really hate Earl Hebner's involvement in the KO division. It just screams creepy old dude fondling younger women. I wish instead of doing this Traci/Karen Knockout law stuff, they would have Traci be a ref. I think they did it once and then dropped it. Anything to get that old fool out of the ring.

They are doing everything right with Bobby which means he is going to job at BFG. I could go on about the Hogan retirement thing, but as River Song says "Spoilers."

I absolutely hate ladder matches thrown out there for number one contenders matches (Feast or Fired - I think ForF is a ladder match, IIRC - or MITB aren't that bad, as they happen like once a year, but a random five minute ladder match where the objective is to get a piece of paper is just stupid.

Just let them have a match and the winner gets a title shot. Is it really worth making ladder matches seem less important/dangerous for a five minute Impact special?

Sadly, though, I agree about Roode. I honestly can't see them pulling the trigger and giving him the belt (if they do, it'll probably make Jack Swagger's reign look like an eternity).

I also agree about Earl Hebner. I hate, hate, hate how he handles every KO's match. Mostly for the reasons you mentioned but also because he takes SO much away from the in-ring action with his ridiculous over-acting and selling.

Oh, and Hogan gave the most insincere "retirement" speech since Ric Flair.

Weirdly, I totally disagree about Roode's chances. The TNA title means so little that I think they'll take a punt on him and give him a decent reign. And Angle loves to do the magnanimous "look how much I put this guy over" thing once in a while.

Angle doesn't mind putting over talent, but then Dixie vetoes any kind of decent rub because she is a mark for "names". He got pissed off when he put Lethal over and they essentially ignored it.

They do the same thing with Sting, who I also don't think minds putting over guys, but Dixie thinks he needs to be the flagship.

Mind boggling how stupid this woman is.

You'd think he'd learn by now, considering his selling is what got him fired from WWE in the first place.

I think because Roode has been pushed so hard and all the wrestlers are saying he'll be the next champion people are skeptical and are watching out for the swerve. I really hope they give him the title and let him hold the title for six months, but can Russo really resist the swerve of Storm turning on Roode? I sure hope so.

What? I thought he was fired for selling WWE merchandise he was getting for free?

Whatever he was fired from, I think that it wouldn't matter since, apparently, you can be on trial for drug possession and be brought back or get arrested for DUI and be made champion.

Something like over-selling won't get you fired, I'd wager ;)

I wonder if any of the Knockouts (tm)/Divas (c) object to certain refs, though. Didn't Li'l Naitch always get the women's matches in WWE?

This was the third week in a row of Impact that I enjoyed.

It was interesting seeing how different Roode's reaction to defeating Styles was compared to Daniels'. AJ tapped earlier than he normally would, however, so I don't consider Roode's win to be entirely legitimate. Daniels' big moment of joy came from defeating AJ on a fluke, so it would be fun to see his feelings as to Roode winning in a relatively more clean manner.

Hogan not having much of an announcement other than "tune in next week" was lame. I am still liking the build to his final clash with Sting, though. Hogan goes through his bag of tricks, and Sting keeps seeing through them.

I am happy to see Kazarian getting a plotline to run with. I wonder if Jarrett will give him a shot at his mexican World Title.

Was this week the first time Pope managed to get revenge on Anderson, after Ken put him out of action last year? I was pleased to see that forgotten comeuppance.

I believe it was, but there was no mention of it, and the match was overbooked to high heaven with the attention all on Devon's kids, and had Bully Ray interfere. Devon and Pope went from arguing about Devon's kids to teaming up all of a sudden to being back to arguing about Devon's kids in a month. What awful storyline. Does anyone even care about Devon's kids?

True, true. The Kane theme done by Method Man was the best song on the album. I wish it had stayed on there.
