We knew that Nash couldn't wrestle Punk because the insurance company of a film that he was going to do wouldn't clear him if he was wrestling. Looks like this was the film.

I'm still confused as to the legal distinction between working a match and doing a run-in with finishers and bumps.

As am I. It just seems a little dodgy to me he is allowed to go in the ring, do a few moves and then leave. I also don't like the fact HHH not Punk took him out at NOC. Plus, who is casting agent that thought Kevin Nash, Male Stripper.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.
Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.

It's not a legal distinction, it's an insurance distinction and as Lex Luger and Mr. Perfect demonstrated, insurance companies know nothing about wrestling.
Insurance company: "We won't insure Kevin Nash for Magic Mike if he is wrestling"
Nash's Agent: "He isn't wrestling. He will make appearances at wrestling shows (which will help promote the movie) and do run-ins, but he will never be wrestling."
And that is probably the end of the conversation. I doubt that anyone asks about Nash getting hit with a sledgehammer at Night of Champions and if they did Nash's agent probably laughs at them and then explains stunt work to them.
(Also, bump? what bump? Triple H "hit" him with a sledgehammer and he fell down. That constitutes a bump these days?)

Nash probably got the part because he is tall and has acted in a fair number of films. They may also need him for some fight and stunt work and he obviously has the experience for that.

I'm not just talking about the latest PPV, but yeah. He was also decked when HHH fired him on RAW. I'm saying selling a move is a bump. Or is that as hair-fine a distinction as match/run-in?
Anyhow, I shake my head at this in bafflement. Nash is a major player in an angle, and he can't/doesn't/won't/shouldn't work bell-to-bell.

There's always a bigger risk if he has to wrestle an entire match (continuous activity and risk) as opposed to standing around, falling down once or twice. Regardless if it's Kevin Nash or anyone else.

Seriously, you managed to snake in HHHate into an unrelated thread. Somebody should track your IP in the case somebody tries to kill HHH.
In Virginia, wrestling is governed by the VA State Athletic commission, just like boxing (though I'm not sure about MMA). In fact, to wrestle professionally in VA you need the same license as you would to box professionally. By those standards, an insurance company would probably have to do the same seeing as how the infrastructure is already set up like that, even though it is archaic.

Selling a move after getting hit is rolling with the impact of a strike, going limp, and collapsing to the floor. It's under your own control, because you're the one falling down. Watch someone like Dolph Ziggler or Mr. Perfect to see a master at it. Dolph Ziggler is throwing a tantrum or arguing with Vickie, turns around, and BAM! gets kicked RIGHT in the head!! The impact turns him all the way around, his knees buckle and his whole body goes limp, and he falls to the floor knocked unconscious. You know he's out by how his eyes are staring into space, completely unfocused. He's covered, and only kicks out on instinct. He's pretty much blacked out, but the ref's hand slapping the mat wakes him up.
Taking a bump is slamming into the ground, taking all the impact in your back. Kurt Angle takes huge bumps, especially when he first started wrestling. He gets huge air and gets driven right into the mat, making a very loud noise as the crowd goes wild. His body is in terrible pain, but he's completely awake and feels all of it. You can tell it hurts by how he scrunches up his face and squirms around on the floor. When he kicks out, it's by heart and desire. Unless he's really tired, then the move usually knocks him out.
