I had missed that in this interview Hunico said he's the "real Sin Cara"... should have been the biggest hint of all that this thing was gonna go down.

Hunico/Incognito handled the promo on SmackDown a couple weeks ago well. Mistico, not so much.

Throw in ADR who really really feels like an afterthought. They gotta do something with his guy, because he just doesn't feel like he's anywhere near the league of Punk and Cena. Hell, Henry has done more in a week to become a credible champ and contender than Del Rio's entire reign.

Some of the early rumors seem to point to ADR being more than an afterthought. I wouldn't be surprised to see the "conspiracy" come to light at HIAC with ADR recovering the title and that building up to Survivor Series.

I just considered it to be an explanation for the turn -- but the angle doesn't really make any sense yet as I'm not sure what we're supposed to believe about which man was wrestling as Sin Cara, when -- nor can I even begin to speculate as to why, storyline-wise, there are two of these guys, why they have only crossed paths in the last week, etc. And the announce team is not doing us any favors -- they are acting so dumb and whatever-the-opposite-of-curious is that it's maddening to me. There are two guys dressed in the same gear suddenly and all we get is "What's going on? Do you understand this at ALL?" "No, I really don't!" "This is SO weird!" "I know, man, I don't get it!" Seriously? That's all you've got to say? That and guessing at which one is the "real" one? God, if THAT is the scope of your intellectual curiosity about what you're seeing, then that's kind of pathetic. I don't think any of the 5 announcer's who've witnessed the two of them together have even sniffed at the concept of a "how" or a "why". Just a bunch of "Duh, which one is the REAL one, guys"

I'd pay good money for one of the announcers to get all existential and say "But what does it even MEAN to be the 'real Sin Cara'?"

Anyway, it felt like the crowd was quite into the show for the most part. Hugh Jackman was great and pretty much owned, though if I had one critique it would be one or two mugs to the camera too many. But great job, good energy and yeah, you could see his acting talent. Blew Vickie out of the water but nice to see Ziggler at least not look like a complete amateur by comparison.

Enjoyed Punk's subtle interplay with the crowd - both the aforementioned "no" to the Shane O'Mac chants (and that group's giddy reaction at having been recognized) and what appeared to be Punk laughing at and acknowledging the "I (Star of David) Colt" sign when he first walked to the rink.

It is, at the very least, somewhat interesting when they run their two to guys (Punk and Cena) out there and both of them hear their share of boos, and the Cleveland crowd delivered. But I'm still having trouble dealing with a world in which the crowd pops more for HHH than for CM Punk, which was the case in the opening segment. They need to find a way to make more people unsure about Triple H than they are about Punk. Good or bad, Punk's reaction needs to be bigger than his.

Also: I love Cody Rhodes' entrance music. That is all.

Dolph Ziggler reported on his Twitter account earlier that he has a jawline fracture, presumably from Jackman's punch: Link. He goes on to say that he's getting a special mouthpiece so he won't miss any in-ring action.

The punch did look pretty stiff. Jackman's done plenty of fight scenes in movies before. You're telling me he doesn't know how to pull a punch? Or was he just overexcited at getting to hang out with the Brawler backstage?

In other news, I heard Trips call Chad Patton by his first name and Michael Cole actually said 'Charles Robinson' out loud. Does this mean that stupid 'don't mention the refs by name' rule is out?

I'm not sure at what point someone decided to stop gimmicking these tables. There was a stretch of SmackDowns a few months ago where the announce tables just wouldn't break!

I wouldn't be surprised if they just decided to stop gimmicking the tables, because they'd have those occasional spots where the table would break too early and someone would wind up getting hurt, as a result. Well, now it's gone the other way, where someone's getting hurt from the tables NOT being gimmicked. In this case, it's Lawler. They were lucky this didn't happen a few months ago when Christian kept getting driven through an announce table that just wouldn't break!

The easy solution is to just STOP using the "break the announce table" spot, but that would just be too easy.

yea, I think they should just use the traditional tables when they need to, not the announcing table.

I think Miz and R-Truth will form a faction with CM Punk in a few weeks... But the last two factions CM Punk started ended up with his entire team destroyed (New Nexus and Straight society)

Sounds like Lawler might not be ready for TV on Monday, at least that's what the Observer site seems to think:

Mark Henry was super upset that Lawler got hurt being put through the announcer's table last night. The table was supposed to be gimmicked, but somehow – and how does this happen? – they forgot to gimmick it. Lawler suffered a back injury and had to be hospitalized. The belief is he won't be back by TV next week.

Shame about Lawler. I remember one of Mark Henry's first in ring appearances way back in '96 was of him slamming Lawler, too, when it happened. As for the table not being gimmick'd...

...could it be a CONSPIRACY?

As for the sentiments on HHH/Punk and how the whole angle is no good, I say this;

1. To each their own.

2. The storyline is still developing and seems to now be giving Miz and Truth something to do on Mondays as opposed to mixing back with the midcard, which is day by day becoming less and less of a mindless shuffle too. The angle itself is moving slowly, but maybe that's a good thing; they could have hotshotted an ending to it by now and gone back to the status quo.

3. Everybody jobs to HHH, you already knew it, why even bother being annoyed with something foreseen?

4. Cena played Ricky Morton to Punk. Cena never plays Ricky Morton in a tag match.

As for the mention of Russo booking, let's consider the merits of Vince Russo's style of getting everybody involved and rounding out the entire show so the entire setting has more depth. His techniques while employing this strategem have been questionable, indeed, but maybe Crash TV (with a lot less Howard Stern and more in ring action rather than stunts) could do wonders to not only elevate talent, but boost ratings, PPV buyrates, and increase overall revenue.

The fact you are going to bring up the merits of Russo booking almost invalidates your argument. It did work in the 90s, but it didn't lead to this much confusion in the main event. When they did giant run-ins like Foley's title win. The Corporation and DX were on the outside, so you knew what was going to happen. Did weird stuff happen in the mid card, sure, they were throwing shit on the walls and seeing what stuck. Part of the reason, they did that was because they were desperate. That is what it looked like on Sunday, desperation.

HHH shouldn't be burying or beating people. He is a part time wrestler if that and has no business going over Punk. It pisses me off when Taker does it on events not named Mania, but to some degree his character has that built in mystique. HHH doesn't have that mystique and it has added nothing to the storyline other than to create more confusion. Punk would have to turn heel to join Miz and Truth. I don't see that coming, yet if it does then the summer of Punk was nothing. Even before the clustferuck Main Event, the ratings were bad. So, not even the King of Kings can move the needle.

The only thing going for this angle at the moment is that it is giving Miz and Truth something more to do. Someone mentioned a faction of Punk, Miz, and Truth. I would like that a helluva lot more than Nash, Miz and Truth. And it would help all the right guys. Punk, Miz, and Truth are the most entertaining guys in the company right now. It would be interesting to see Truth's rantings become totally validated by there being a real conspiracy.

That sounds an awful lot similar to Sting/Nash vs Hogan/Bischoff from last year. That being said, it certainly would be interesting.

Set against the luminaries of 2009-10, Hugh Jackman would have to be on the short, shortlist of the best guest hosts ever, right? It's down to him, Shaq, Bob Barker, and of course Maria Menounos.
