I would say something like, "I never thought I would see the day," but really now, who ever contemplated anything like this EVER happening? As I said in my latest Facebook status update, this is either the pinnacle of achievement in modern dessert innovation or the moment when Ben & Jerry's finally jumped the shark. I tend to think it's the former.
The ice cream itself sounds tasty enough, but it also doesn't sound like anything too outlandish ("vanilla ice cream with a hint of rum and is loaded with fudge covered rum balls and milk chocolate malt balls" according to the NPR article). I think it would have been rather fitting if they added something salty - maybe potato chips like in their Jimmy Fallon-inspired Late Night Snack ice cream. Or maybe that would be taking things too far, heh.
Next up: Chocolate Salty Balls Ice Cream? Eh? Eh?

(P.S. - I may not be the first to say this, but there really should be a food forum here. With all the soda and fast food talk, I think it would make for a nice little section. Anyway...)
Late Night Snack's potato chip pieces are actually chocolate salty balls, which are so amazing that I keep lobying for them to become a snack food unto themselves.

I love the idea, but I'm not a fan of rum chocolate OR malt balls. I'd still be willing to give Schweddy Balls a try just to say I did so, but I don't expect the flavour to be to my liking.
Chris Rock deserves this one, despite the hate that seems to be coming his way in this thread. If you want proof that he's the funniest, watch the HBO special in April. And oh yes, he's the best live stand up comic I've ever seen.
