Orton bores me to tears, but hi IS over. I think Punk is gonna do SOMETHING big. Maybe not Austin, but one of the ideas mentioned in this thread.
Danielson will need a huge build to get the fans to care. It took the megapush of winning the rumble to get Benoit accepted as a legit contender and he'd been there a lot longer than Bryan has. If he ends up in a title match it'll have to be against a big name and I agree that Jericho would be great here.
Miz is probably their hottest full time worker next to Cena/Punk/Orton, and he'll probably turn face by then.
And we STILL haven't touched on the Undertaker match which has become a title match in its own right. A month ago I'd have said a HHH rematch was the odds on favorite, but now I think the Punk situation could change that. Speaking of, if there is ANYONE that should have the streak breaking rub (and I'm not saying it should be broken), it would be Punk.
By Wrestlemania, Punk will either be clearly over as a ME and will no tneed the rub or will be back in the mid card and not deserve it.
Undertaker's last Wrestlemani should be a hard fought and epic battle against Cena where he looks down and out all match only to come back strong and pin Cena and walk off into the sunset.

Hard to argue with that, but we've got Rock/Cena etched in adamantium right now. If this WM is truly the "Last Outlaw's" last roundup, let him beat Kane one more time. I've always thought Taker's last match should involve Kane somehow.
It's also possible Taker is the 'in case of emergency, break glass' option for the WM28 main event in case Cena or Rock get injured between now and April. UT/Cena and UT/Rock are obviously both huge, WM-worthy main events.

The fact that there is this much discussion of Wrestlemania over EIGHT months prior shows how well they are building to this card. That is pretty good considering how the period prior to Summerlam through Survivor Series is traditionally a dead zone.

It is? I thought the dead zone was between SurSer and the Rumble.
Anyone can face Taker. Bryan, for example, could have a face-to-face with him, wanting a match (pre-Rumble). Taker is all like, pssh what have you ever done, boy? He goes out, wins the Rumble, restates his desire to fight Taker. Match set. Is it the best setup or most plausible? No, but its at least on par with two dudes staring at a sign.
What I really want is Punk-Bryan. For the belt. Especially with Punk's focus on the term and craft "wrestling".

Oooooh. I like it. But one of them would have to turn heel.
It would be stupid to turn Punk face, now that he's getting these huge crowd reactions. But Bryan used to be a great heel in ROH, so, why not turn him? He even could bring back his "bet in the world"-gimmick, which would lead to "The best in the world" vs. "The best in the world" at WM. Hell, he could even have Michael Cole as his new manager.
Only problem with this whole scenario: It screws up their whole "honorable cash-in at WM"-storyline.

Bryan cashes in on a face champion, possibly Punk, BEFORE Wrestlemania and wins the belt. He then comes out next week and says "Ha ha, you suckers, you actually thought I'd wait until WM, I fooled you all!" Instant heat

As has been discussed in another thread, I'm wondering why, if Daniel Bryan's so intent on cashing the briefcase in at WrestleMania, he keeps the damn thing in his possession! When Wade Barrett decked him on SmackDown last night, it looked like he was about to make off with the briefcase, but then Bryan put him in the LeBell Lock.
Seriously, put it in a bank vault. It leads you to wonder whether he'll actually be able to cash it in at WM, or whether he really has any intention of doing so.

I don't think ownership of the briefcase/contract is solely based on who physically has it. Like, if Barrett had stolen the briefcase, he wouldn't have been able to cash it in since it wasn't his. It would be like if Barrett stole the world title belt, he wouldn't automatically be champion.

There's two other interesting methods they could go with Bryan at this point, if they wanted to. And both would do a very credible job of building him up for Wrestlemania.
1) Have him lose the briefcase, only to have him win the Rumble and proclaim "I told you I'd main event Wrestlemania!".
2) Everyone is expecting him to lose the briefcase, and because he announced "oh hey, I'm going to MAIN EVENT AT WRESTLEMANIA" he's got a huge target on his back. Who DOESN'T want to main event Wrestlemania?
Daniel Bryan now has ready-made feuds with every single member on Smackdown. All of them. THEY all want what he has, so they all challenge him for it. Daniel Bryan, man of honour, takes them all on and wins every single time leading up to Wrestlemania.
After a (very) long hiatus, I have begun to write again. And this time, I'm not alone!

Now THAT is something I could see working. Very good idea.

Keep in mind though that this is wrestling, where stealing a belt means you get a title match most of the time.
I got the idea that Barrett intends to challenge Bryan for the briefcase/title match. It would be a fun little feud, and the fact that Barrett pointed that not only is it prestigious to be a main event at WM, it also means literal money in the bank, it makes the whole thing even more important.
A Bryan heel turn could also be facilitated by him wagering the briefcase against someone and losing, or losing at WrestleMania and getting made fun of.
Either way I hope he chokes Michael Cole with his own tie, 'cuz if anyone deserves it (especially after that disgraceful performance on commentary on SmackDown), it's him.

TNA gets a consistent 1 rating on cable. If what they pay for a 1 rating is better than what they would pay for a .3 rating with a Charles in Charge/Joanie Loves Chachi block, then they keep TNA.
