http://entertainment.blogs.foxnews.com/2011/07/22/director-nicolas-winding-refn-wants-christina-hendricks-to-be-his-wonder-woman/?test=faces

The Wonder Woman reboot may have failed as a TV show, but if Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn has his way, DC Comics’ All-American heroine will become the subject of a feature film starring “Mad Men” redheaded brick house, Christina Hendricks.

“First of all, she’s an awesome actress,” Refn fawned to New York Magazine. “Second, she’s so beautiful and so sexy and such a powerhouse of a woman that Liv, my wife, said that’s the prototype of a real woman. She has everything a guy would want. And yet she’s everything a girl thinks is the right way to look. So for me, she’s the perfect choice.”

The fact that Hendricks is closer to 40 than 30 doesn’t bother the director of “Drive.” “She’s mature, which I think Wonder Woman has to be, because it’s a very complex character,” he explained. “You know, the whole Wonder Woman concept is ‘What if women were more powerful than men?’ And I certainly can’t come up with a more ideal choice to play that, both consciously because she’s very smart but also because of her sensibility and her physicality … so for me, she’s the perfect choice because she has so much sensibility and sexuality, but it’s true sexuality. And she has a body to die for. I certainly don’t know anybody of both sexes who doesn’t find her extremely attractive.”

Refn is currently working with Ryan Gosling on a remake of “Logan’s Run” for Warner Bros., but sadly for fans of Wonder Woman and Hendricks, the potential summer blockbuster has not been given the green light by Warner Bros.—or anyone else.

But Refn has a diabolical plan to pique the studio’s interest. “All you have to do is say, ‘Warner Brothers has agreed to make Wonder Woman with Nicolas,’” Refn pleaded with the New York magazine writer. “We’ll just write it, and then Warner Brothers will be like, ‘Did we do that? Well, I guess we did it. It says we did it, so I guess we did it!’”

Are you listening, Warner Bros.?

I dont' care if this happens or not, just the THOUGHT of Hendricks in WW's costume makes me happy.

YES.

Right off the bat this is light-years beyond that horrible aborted TV show.

At this point, until I see a trailer, I'm going to stop getting excited about anything Wonder Woman. There have been far too many false starts over the last five years.

Having seen the "horrible, aborted, show" it was not all that bad. I'd probably have given it a season to work out the bugs before deciding whether to drop it. Then again, I was a fan of the idea from day one.

Am I wrong (the clip is a little blurry), or does Wonder Woman hurl an axe right through that guy's windpipe at the end of the clip?

I dunno, that just seems ... out of character.

I beiieve it's just a pipe (as in a hollow metal tube, not the smoking implement).

There will always been some changes that occur with media adaptations, and Wonder Woman has killed in the past. I've always* look at these things as opportunities to get more people interested in the characters, which will keep them around just that much longer. I may not have liked much about Smallville, but other people liked it**.

*well, in the past couple of years
**Would it have killed them to put Welling in the actual suit?

I have no interest in the character, but an older Wonder Woman makes way more sense than a 20-something.

Lloyd: When I met Mary, I got that old fashioned romantic feeling, where I'd do anything to bone her.
Harry: That's a special feeling.

But would never get signed as Warners want a franchise out of this. Casting a near forty year-old as a spandex-wearing sex symbol isn't thinking longterm, as much as I would lovelovelove to see Hendricks in that get-up.

This is a rare instance where a live-action woman will have bigger tits than the equivalent comic book character.

EDIT: No seriously... her breasts are huge. How do you even fit them in the Wonder Woman costume?
