Maybe CM Punk will leave Chicago as the WWE Champion, crash the three-way and win the NWA Champion as well, and go around the country winning everyone's major world title belts, walking out with eight title belts like Ultimo Dragon.
In all seriousness, though... I wasn't aware The Sheik was even still wrestling; that's how little I've paid attention to the NWA World Title as of late. Since the TNA split, y'know... if it's not being televised nationally, it's barely a blip on my radar. (With all due respect-- sorry if that comes off as being an asshole).

Probably not whichever Sheik you're thinking off. It's this one, a indy guy based in Florida.
There's a gossipy backstory to this. Supposedly, this Sheik wanted to buy a NWA title reign, some people in the NWA said no, other people decided they wanted to get the money and those people won out. Adam Pearce, champion at the time, was unsurprisingly not happy with the idea. As fans of NWA Hollywood may know, he lost the belt instead to Colt Cabana, who got to be champion for a while (likely) with the knowledge he'd soon lose to Sheik. He did so, sadly, and Sheik got to be champion for a while.
Judging from the Facebook post, the 'while' was up. Or maybe there's was a disagreement about how long the while lasted. But more I agree that it's the NWA title in 2011 and it doesn't really matter*.
(* - the angry people commenting on that facebook article excepted)
and Dave Marquez wondered why on twitter that I said the NWA title had been "devalued" and a start-up company would be better to be independent than be part of the NWA in 2011.
Considering all the pub Colt Cabana is getting because of Punk, I'm betting the NWA is regretting taking the title off of him right about now. I suspect Pearce will win the title back.

This guy has been going around insisting he has the blessing of the Farhat family to call himself the Sheik. Don't ask the Farhat family about that one. Including Sabu.

If you want to follow all the fall out from what happened on Monday in the NWA The Alliance Wrestling blog specifically reports NWA happenings, news, & promos. Probably better than NWA Wrestling dot-com. Side note, it's a blogspot site with a lot of ads so prepare your eyes. At least no pop ups.

Larry Z is only 51? Even odder, he's trying to make the PGA Champions tour? Good lord, I can see it now. "Zbyszko lining up the putt....Still lining it up....Still lining....Now stepping up to putt....nope, wait, he's backing away again.
