It's official. The Calgary Sun reported this morning as the banner headline that Bret Hart indeed suffered a debilitating stroke this past week. Is it just me, or is this year the absolute shit rock-bottom of wrestling bad news?
-The British Bulldog dies -Big Dick Dudley dies -Austin walks out -Helen Hart dies -Bret Hart suffers a stroke
Next thing you know, the entire wrestling world will cease to exist. Sad, is what it is.
My condolences go out to the Hart Family.

The Hart Foundation had some horrible Karma, Pillman dead, Owen dead, Bulldog dead, Bret in bad shape, Neidhart didn't he get caught sleeping with his brothers sister?
Personally I wouldn't want to be in Hart Foundation V2.0 seeing all the bad stuff that happened to V1.0. Diss the states, fear Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty nailing you with bad Karma.
I don't get it, everyone loves rats, but they don't want to drink the rats milk?
I live in Calgary, and talk to the Hart family members on occation, while some of my friends are really tight with 'em...so here's the skinny:
-Helen Hart dies -Owen Hart dies, wife bitches out entire family -Bret & his wife divorce -Davey Boy & his wife seperate -One of the brothers & his wife seperate -Davey Boy & above guy's wife run off together -Davey Boy dies -one of the sisters publishes book, family disowns -Bret has stroke

Jesus, I hope that wasn't in chronological order... I thought Owen died before Helen? Oh well... Not to steal your thunder or anything Freeway, but I knew all that stuff already, even without living in Calgary.
The only real tragedy I see in this whole thing is the death of Owen.
Apparently it was a mild stroke It happened when he hit his head after a fall off a bike. I suspect that his concussion problems made him vulnerable (thanks Bill).
The radio here in Calgary said he's in stable condition but still has a lot of trouble with loss of sensation on one side of his body.
Any ideas on whether the stroke was somehow partially stemmed from the Goldberg kick, and the accident agrivated it?

.
That's funny how Austin walking out ranks up there with death and strokes. That's like in the Year-end award for "most Disappointing News:" They'll have "Gordon Solie dies" and Hayabusa paralyzed" right next to "Jericho gets depushed."

It seems whenever Undertaker main events a PPV, a Hart family member/Hart Foundation member dies or is injured.
Taker main evented the night Owen died.
The Pay Per View around the time Pillman died.
I _believe_, but am not sure, this No Way Out (where he co-main evented) when Helen Hart died.
Judgement Day, Davey Boy died.
King Of The Ring, Bret lands on his head.
I dunno, I thought it was kinda creepy, myself.

I never thought about it like that...maybe he really is the Prince of Darkness.
January 4th 1999 - The day WCW injected itself with 10 gallons of Liquid Anthrax...AKA...The day Hogan "Defeated" Nash to win the WCW title in front of 40,000.
Since my subscription to the Observer started earlier this year:
- Davey Boy Smith, Big Dick Dudley, Helen Hart, Lou Thesz, and Wahoo McDaniel have all died. - The Rock pretty much left wrestling. - The WWF was forced to change to WWE. - Austin walked out of the WWE. - The domestic abuse charges came to light. - Vince Russo is back in the WWE. - Ratings are dropping fast. - Bret Hart has had a stroke.
Thankfully my subscription is up in three weeks, hopefully the industry can survive until then.
So how many gimmick matches do they have for Bound For Glory now? geez? 1) Women's Gauntlet 2) Tag Team Ultimate X Match 3) Fight for Your Right Match 4) Match with Special Enforcer 5) Tables Match
