From Jesse Neal's twitter- he's talking to his girlfriend Christie Von Eerie

"Yayyyy we qualified for food stamps!!! I can eat now! RT : Things are looking up! Just recieved some good news!!! "

Then he told off someone who thinks it's a joke about how little TNA pays

By the way its not a joke. RT @RowdyRodimus: @TheJesseNeal @CVEvil_138 It's a sad state of the business that you can make a joke about Food Stamps and people wonder if you are serious

Wow. How embarrassing for TNA.

I like to guess who starts threads here when I see tweets from @The_W. Believe it or not, I got this one right, too!

Say, galaxy, do you have some sort of an agenda when you start threads here? It's just....you've started four threads and they're all about TNA, and 9 of your 10 "Pro Wrestling" posts are about TNA. Do no other discussions or topics around here interest you?

They get paid what they deserve in TNA. When they can actually put paying fans into the stands, then they can complain about their pay.

Not putting paying fans in the stands has very little to do with the wrestlers that are not making much. Why should they be the ones to suffer while the guys in charge are making a lot of money?

I have been at the Impact shows in person, they do pack the place, but people come and go as they please too. Also, I doubt every fan in that place was someone who just showed up and didn't pay for the park. Its pretty pathetic regardless that a company on TV can't pay its workers enough not to be on food stamps. Either cut the roster or squeeze Universal or Spike or whoever for more cash.

I never like to hear that someone is struggling financially. However, after reading many wrestling books over the years, or any other “chasing your dream” books, it seems like being dirt poor is par for the course. Jesse is pretty low on the totem pole, and it’s not like TNA is rolling in the dough. I would assume he can also get indy bookings? Either way, I wish the guy well as he has potential, but right now he just seems to be paying his dues.

Did he just post this on twitter to bite the hand that (barely) feeds him? I am not sure that is the best career move. Or maybe he is one of those people who takes a shit and thinks the whole world wants to know what color it was so he tweets about it?

TNA makes enough - or at least can afford - to pay Hogan, Bischoff, Flair and Sting six figures. No excuses for the way they treat lower-card talent.

Forget all the anti-TNA rhetoric and let's assume he really is on food stamps.

Why tweet about it in the first place? What purpose does that serve? If I was on the food stamps program; I sure wouldn't want people to know about it. It's not something I'd be proud of.

Does anyone really think TNA is paying him so little that he can't afford to feed himself and his girlfriend? Please...

Either:

1. He's outright lying.
2. He's really bad at budgeting or in some kind of bad debt in which case he shouldn't be in the wrestling business and needs to find a new, more stable line of work.
3. His girlfriend is going on the food stamps program on her own because she qualifies even though he's making enough money to feed both of them.

Taylor Wilde took a second job working as a cashier at a Sunglasses Hut to make ends meet when she was Knockouts Champion. I have no doubts that TNA pay, which is based around per appearance with a guaranteed downside of zero if I recall correctly, is that bad.

You have to love the logic of TNA. I can see it now

Suit A : we are getting complaints that we aren't paying our wrestlers enough.

Suit B : Oh? well we will be making more money to pay them better soon. Hey did you know we just Signed Hulk Hogan?

Suit A : We did? how are we going to afford him?

Suit B: ...... Take all the money we were paying the Knock Outs and give add it to what we were paying the X division and give all that to Hogan.

Suit A : Ok that makes sense.

Dont say its not worth it, when you can sleep with no fear, that kind of time is worth any thing.- FFX

Who's forcing her to work for TNA? She agreed to the terms she was presented with so she must not have had much of a problem with them.

Besides; I think that supplementing her income with another steady job is a much more responsable way to handle the situation than going on food stamps.

As someone who was on food stamps during college which was awhile ago. They only look at your rent/mortgage and your utility bills. I don't think car or car insurance went with it. So, your bills have to be over I want to say 60% of the income and your income can't be more then say more then $500 to $800 a month. I was working 40 hours getting pad $6 or $7 an hour with a rent of $300. I just qualified and thank god, because it saved my life even though I still don't understand why you can't get warm food with it, but in some states you can get cigarettes.

So, even if he had a lot of CC debt, it wouldn't matter and that is something I can easily seen being racked up for wrestlers who need hotels, rental cars and so on. To me, TNA has to cut the fat paychecks which Foley being gone maybe helps or they need to find other ways to make money.

I think the point being made, is that while working in a prominent on-camera role for a company with the resources of TNA and Panda Energy, that they should be paying you more than the Subway across your street would.

It's not a matter of whether or not they should be getting second jobs, or going on a welfare system. It's that neither option should even be necessary at this stage of their career given that they now work for the #2 largest wrestling organization in North America.

If I'm a wrestler, and TNA isn't paying me enough money to buy food with; I look for work elsewhere (be it in wrestling, or yes; even at McDonalds if I can make more money there or have a more stable job).

I'm not trying to defend what TNA is doing (IE: signing Hogan and Bishoff to large contracts) if the pay really is this bad; but on the other hand, nobody is forcing them to sign with the company and keep working there. There have to be indy feds who would love to have former TNA talent on their rosters, no?

I wonder how TNA would handle a sudden and mass walk-out amongst some of the more disgruntled employees?

There wouldn't be a mass walkout, because as bad as TNA pays and its apparently bad for the low card, its still wrestling on TV. Being on TV means when they go to the indies if they are allowed to, I can't remember, they will make more money there. Raven at one point stated he made more money working in the Indies then he during his WWE run. A smart wrestler would get as much TV exposure they can get for down the road.

What good is being on TV if they're being paid so poorly they can't survive without going on food stamps? What must that be doing to their morale? That's waiting for someone else to notice you when it may never happen.

There are guys who have been in TNA for years and years that the WWE has no interest in whatsoever. On the other hand; they could probably jump to the indies now and do just as well if not better.

If I only worked one day a week I'd probably be on welfare too.

Because that's how every entertainment business on the planet operates. When you go see that big action flick with the main star making millions, do you ever realize that 99 percent of the people in the actual film make almost nothing and are unemployed the moment the movie is over?

If TNA were making money, I would feel be more sympathy toward the low pay of wrestlers. But they don't. And as others have said, they also get paid from the TV time in that indy shows pay more notice to them.
