I think it will be fun to have Booster make ominous comments about the future where Legion is. It will nudge people to buy Legion to figure out what the hell is he talking about. The list really doesn't excite me too much. I might get JLI or Green Arrow, but I may just sit this out til the trades come out. Lee and Johns on Lee is the only dream team, so far on JLA.
Polybags, good lord did they learn nothing from the 90s? Oh wait, Dan Jurgens is writing how many books? Nevermind.

Hey, wow, I don't like the sound of any of this (besides JMS off of Wonder Woman). And this is just me thinkin', but if they're rebooting, which you would think requires looking at everything with a fresh set of eyes in order to clean stuff up, wouldn't the thought occur: "You know, Firestorm and Captain Atom are kind of similar. They're both nuclear men, right? Can manipulate matter, fly and fire energy? Do we need both?"
This line of thinking would also apply to Superman and Captain Marvel, Superman and Supergirl, Power Girl and Supergirl, etc.
Although, when Captain Marvel gets rebooted, I hope this means Billy Batson is Marvel again like he should be and they undo all that Shazam is dead, Batson is the wizard, Freddy Freeman is Shazam crap.
No mention of Superman or Batman, probably wise. DC's taken care not to blow their Major Announcement load all at once.
(edited by John Orquiola on 2.6.11 1050)
They should get rid of some redundancies at the very least. I will always stand by my belief that Superman should be the LAST son of Krypton, so no Supergirl, Power Girl, Superboy, Krypto, etc.
Also employ this rule, "If a 2nd grader can't explain a character in his friend in two sentences, scrap him" So bye bye convoluted crap like the Hawks and Firestorm.
The next reboot hammer falls. The Batman Incorporated concept is indeed biting the dust. Here's what the big changes look to be:
-Bruce Wayne is, once again, the ONLY Batman. -Damian Wayne is Robin. -Barbara Gordon walks again and is back in the Batgirl costume (!) -Batwoman gets her own title, but no word on Renee Montoya. -Catwoman gets her own title. No word on whether she's a hero or villain, but it sounds like she's staying the way she is now. -The Birds of Prey are now Gotham's covert ops team.
So what does this all mean for Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, Cassandra Cain, and Jason Todd? Uh...stay tuned, I guess.
EDIT: Dick Grayson is Nightwing again. Interestingly, the solicitation does make mention of his time as Batman, so make of that what you will.
Jason Todd is also coming back in "Red Hood and the Outlaws", leading a group of "antiheroes", including "Green Arrow's rejected sidekick Arsenal and Starfire, a former prisoner of intergalactic war."
Ok, I can take Jason Todd and I won't even crack about how he just won't let that Red Hood mantle go. But are you seriously telling me that they have a chance with this reboot to fix all the damage done to poor Roy Harper and THEY AREN'T TAKING IT? What are they thinking?

Hold on a second. How old is Bruce Wayne? in the new DCU? If he's father to Damian, then he boned Talia at least 10-11 years ago, presumably as Batman. (Unless they did the Batusi while he was training - does the Batman Begins origin, with augmentations, become canon? I'd like that, actually.) Still, unless Bruce and Talia did it when he was 15-17, he can't be mid-late 20's. I thought DC's characters are supposed to be younger.
Also, WTF? A massive Batman family in Gotham post-relaunch? So much for streamlining.

Dick is going back to Nightwing and getting his own title that much I did see in an early press release. I would expect Robin to get his own title as well. As long as it gets Grant Morrison's shit ideas out of Batman, I am happy, but its a bitter pill to swallow. I loath Damien and as well as re-conning one of the best Batman stories of all time with Babs walking. Someone did theorize, she will still be in the wheel chair and fight crime in the Wayne Matrix. I don't know if that is better or worse. I guess Gail Simson will be writing Batgirl and has asked for wheelchair ideas, so who knows.
The person who is going to get it the worst is going to be Superman. Undoing the marriage, so he can tap Wonder ass is going to piss people off. It will be One More Day instead of a deal with Satan and back to Aunt May's house, Peter will be friends with benefits with Black Cat. You know that is actually better then the Aunt May thing. So, DC maybe ok with this move.
The wife is going to be pissed Gotham Sirens is gone or not after Harley turned on them. I am not sure what to make of all of this. Batman is my guy and no Grant Morrison nonsense is a win, but fucking Damien is right there, looking at me with his shit attitude. Fuck, I have no idea what to do at this point.

You never know what this supervillians can do with genetic manipulation and pocket universes and whatever it was that was responsible for Impulse/Kid Flash aging so fast and general hand waving. I bet you're getting your explanation, I bet you're not getting a good one.
Either that IGN article has been modified or you guys missed a bit, as it says that Batman Incorporated will be returning with a new #1 in early 2012 with Morrison at the helm.

Really interesting here is Morrison implying that next year's storyline is going to tie up everything he's done with Batman, which we could speculate means that the relaunch isn't one giant smash of the RESET button.
Nous ne nous pouvons pas sortir. Can someone please tell me (in spoiler tags for the sake of those who don't want to know) what the Flashpoint #2 cliffhanger is? I've seen reviews either praising it or declaring it unintentional comedy, sometimes both, but a googling has turned up nothing of note.

People on wikipedia appear to be updating the Flashpoint article there with the plot. The second paragraph of the plot section was added on June 1st, which was when Flashpoint 2 came out. I didn't read the comic at all, but I'm guessing
Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
the cliffhanger is whether Barry Allen might be dead after he was badly burned because he electrocuted himself to try to regain his powers.

You don't like Jurgens OR Morrison? Is there anything you actually enjoy in life?
Johns, Dini, Widdick, Kevin Smith, Simson, JMS even though his WW and Superman run has been a waste. I also didn't say I don't like Jurgens, I am just shocked to see him back on so many books after getting partially blamed for DC's 90s problems.

I don't care for either of those guys either. I got in trouble years ago for bashing Jurgens. I was invited to a party with friends of mine who worked for Marvel at the time and met a lot of comics industry people. I don't remember how it came about but I started ripping on Jurgens for his Justice League run. (Which I still hate. Bloodwynd?! It was such a pale, pathetic imitation of Giffen and DeMatteis' beloved JLI.) Anyway, I found out in short order Dan Jurgens is a very well-liked, highly regarded person in the comics business, and I, a nobody, sounded like a jackass. (But I still don't like Jurgens' comics.)
My comment was less a critique on those who don't like Jurgens or Morrison (outside of his JLA run I'm actually not a Morrison fan), but more a reference that I mostly see lotjx ripping on nearly everything in such a fashion I was honestly wondering if there was things that he enjoys. But he does enjoy some things, which is good! I'd hate to see someone not enjoy anything.
That was the 90's, this is now. And Jurgen's work on the current Booster Gold series was outstanding.
Speaking of Booster Gold, I wonder how he'll play into this. And Kid Flash, for that matter.

I just hate Morrision and Quesada. I am even over hating on Bendis, because how awesome he was at Baltimore with me. Jurgens, I liked what he did with the Death of Superman stuff, but he really blew return. The thing people remember from Superman coming back is Mongul destroyed Coastal City, home of Green Lantern. Thus sending Hal into an insane rage and having him be Parallax. That is probably not what you want to have happen even as cool as it was. Quesada is the worst editor in chief Marvel has had even though he has made them billions. He has gone from the guy who brought in JMS, Kevin Smith, Bendis and other talented guys to the Judas of the Disney deal. Even before the Disney deal, he pissed me off with all his editorial decisions after Civil War. Now, the hostage situation of killing a character a month til sales go up is just asinine.
Morrison is the worst writer working today. He seems to have good ideas then throws them out the window for his own version of Russo booking. He seems to intentionally write stories with either pages or dialogue missing. Then he spins characters out of control to do things they would never do, this happened mainly in his X-Men run. The worst part of Morrison is this cult that has been growing since fans called him out on how much of a piece of shit RIP and Final Crisis was. It had a verse effect where he became the star of the internet. You go to www.Comicsalliance.com, you say one bad thing about Grant, you get 8 negative points and 4 or 5 replies how shitty of a comic person you are. I have no idea why people like him other than hipster readers who download this shit for free just love someone who older fans think is shit.
