Meanwhile, after a wild game 7 last night, and a perfect 0-2 record for yours truly predicting the previous round, the stage was set for the NHL's championship:

STANLEY CUP FINALS

1 VANCOUVER CANUCKS v. 3 BOSTON BRUINS

Game 1: Wed. 8PM @VAN
Game 2: 6/4 8PM @VAN
Game 3: 6/6 8PM @BOS
Game 4: 6/8 8PM @BOS
Game 5: 6/10 8PM @VAN *
Game 6: 6/13 8PM @BOS *
Game 7: 6/15 8PM @VAN *

I can't see the Canucks losing this one, but you know what tremendous luck I've had picking winners lately. I'd love for it to go 7.

Your thoughts:

Vancouver in 7. Good be a great series or a sweep depends on Boston's goalie.

I've never posted in a predictions thread since last year when I jynxed it, but this year I think it's going to happen.

Canucks beat Chicago in seven
They beat Nashville in six
They eliminated the sharts in five

This trend will continue when they sweep the Bruins in four.

Montreal and Calgary both won Stanley Cups the year after their cities hosted the Olympics, so I see no reason why this streak shouldn't continue with Vancouver. Canucks in six.

Uh, also, go Toronto for the 2020 Olympics!

Canucks win. Of course, I could be saying this because I hate the Bruins.

Bruins in 5. But really, considering these are two of the teams I hate the most, I'm rooting for the meteor.

As a NY Rangers fan, I can never truly forgive nor forget the Rick Middleton for Ken Hodge trade nor can I ever get over the emotional burden of Brad Park & Jean Ratelle for Phil Esposito & Carol Vadnais which resulted in Espo ruining the franchise as both a TV announcer & GM. I still hate the Bruins.

As for the Canucks, I will always be grateful for 1994.

I should probably turn in both my Habs fan card and my Canadian passport, but I would prefer to see Boston take this one. The Canucks are pretty when they're flying high, but I thought there was something to other teams' complaints about diving and whining in the earlier rounds. With some exceptions for specific players, I don't think the Canucks have the same grit that Boston does and I think that and goaltending will be the two difference makers in the end.

There's also potential for Boston sports teams to win every major sports championship in a ten-year span. I think that would be pretty cool.

Boston in 6, possibly 7. Expect at least one Canucks blowout win along the way.

Credit Boston goalie Tim Thomas for the awesome move on that A-hole from Vancouver near the end of game. Also great defense.

The Bruins have played the last 2 games like they have been playing the last minute of Game 7 EVERY minute of the game. I can't wait for the puck to drop tonight. I fully expect Vancouver to rally and win in yet another heartbreaking fashion for Bruins fans.
