That's assuming this is, say, a back injury and she could've taken bumps, which, maybe not. If this isn't the political kiss of death then they should just start the angle over at step 1 next year and do the whole thing over again. Kelly/Kharma is the female Rock/Cena.
As The Chief pointed out, Kharma's absence seemingly leaves the entire division with no angles. Even if she just lay down backstage and have a Diva stand over her with, I dunno, Austin's net gun. The Diva division revolved around the very successful push of a monster with a somewhat ambiguous agenda (she didn't clobber everyone she could have).
Of course, I advocate having someone future endeavored with a loser-leaves-town match. If someone has to step away, why not use it for the product? They did it with Edge on notice seemingly just as short. In fact, Kharma could still pop up on RAW to put someone over, and it doesn't have to be physical.

How much does this suck for poor Kelly Kelly? Is there anyone who has worse luck getting major angles going than Kelly Kelly? Just this year she had a love storyline with Drew McIntyre that fizzled. It fizzled because she got an even better opportunity with Vickie Guerrero that had her main eventing Smackdown and even defending the World Heavyweight Championship successfully for Edge. But then Snooki entered the picture and Kelly got shafted out of her WrestleMania dream tag team with Trish Stratus. She finds herself at the center of the biggest Diva angle in years with Kharma and now that looks to be kaput. Plus her first Divas Title opportunity on pay per view ends ingloriously at the hands of Twin Magic. Poor Kelly Kelly.
Today's Observer says Kharma "has taken a leave of absence" and isn't expected back until next year. There's no mention of any reason - no talk of any injury or pregnancy.
Well, whatever the reason is, it sucks. She truly was one of the only reasons I was tuning in to Raw the last few weeks, and it was usually the highlight of the night, albeit with little competition. Oddly enough, there was a time when I said the same thing about her on iMPACT. She is/was the rare legitimate female draw.

Ha, no.
But is Kelly Kelly their #1 one Diva? I've been trying to rack my brain and other than LayCool none of them really stick out more than the other.
I was kind of under the impression that they were all about equal, like little league soccer. They just throw a couple of girls together and we give them all a ribbon for being good sports.
I suppose they should have a top girl, but then they would have to give her character some depth and that would mean putting some effort into something that is mostly filler and PG rated spank material.

A guy I know once mentioned on the radio that a co-worker was pregnant, and it was apparently a major faux pas because she hadn't "officially" "announced" that she was pregnant yet. And you don't step on the mother's toes in that regard. Or something.
Could this be an angle while doubtful, what a psycho angle they could build on this if it was an angle.. She could come out next monday, squash a few divas, and say "Ha, ha, I fooled you"....
On the new Observer Radio, Meltzer confirms that Kharma's pregnant. They're going to have some sort of announcement or interview on Monday to write her out, though they may not address the real reason why she's leaving.

Her profile is still up on wwe.com
Hope that she and the baby are both healthy.
I still think they can build a pshyco angle on this and do some build - if they care to invest the time and effort. I'm thinking "female Mankind" kind of disturbed. If she was willing (and able) to do some vignettes over a period of time they could bridge a lot of the gap during her leave.

Rock did a month worth of vignettes and got creamed for it. I doubt Kong would fair better since the word is out she is not going to be around for awhile. Stuff like this could have worked in the 80s or even parts of the 90s, but I don't think in this generation of give me now as well as the amount of TV, it would work.

If and when Kharma returns, she'll be lucky if she doesn't end up as "Black Bertha Faye".
Why do you have to be all negative and what not. What makes you think they won't have her back killing divas left and right like she was doing now?
They rarely change these characters. Take Matt Bourne for example. He was gone for a few months and he came back and is right back to doing what he was doing before he got injured. There is no reason to assume that they'll do anything different with Kharma when she returns.

No he wasn't. One day he was telling off fans and playing hilarious tricks on Crush, then all of a sudden he's palling around with a midget and yukking it up with all the little kiddies at ringside. Blech.

But seriously, folks...
I have given WWE the benefit of the doubt on many occasions and thought "I don't like this, but I bet it's leading to something good" or "I don't understand why they're doing this, but I bet it's leading to something good," and more often than not, my initial skepticism was proven right. Without turning this into a list thread, there are tons of examples of storylines being dropped without explanation, characters behaving in inconsistent ways, and just poor storytelling in general. I still think you should wait and see what they actually do before burying them over something, but I really can't fault anyone for having a pessimistic outlook. WWE earned that treatment.
I have to add my vote for the ECW in WWF, just hearing that old ECW music, and the crowd in Atlanta going batshit about it, I was jumping all over the place.
