Nous ne nous pouvons pas sortir.
Ride the nostalgia wave, baby.

In the spirit of that thread (which didn't even get new posts as part of the 7?) and because I learned of a lot of awesome songs from it and because we (I think) have some current/former workers on the board it's time to revisit this. If you were a pro wrestler and/or an MMA fighter what would be your theme?

Bonus points for listing a face and heel theme or pyro/entrance cues. Super bonus points for not repeating any theme that's been used or ripped off for WWE/WCW/ECW. Sorry, Battle Without Honor or Humanity and Basham fans who aren't the Bashams. Both of you.

Face: "Horseshoes and Hand Grenades" by Green Day. Lights down on the opening drums/marching. BIG explosion and enter on "I'm not fucking around!"

Heel: "The Inevitable Return of the Great White Dope" by the Bloodhound Gang.

Domestic MMA: "Final Boss" by MC Frontalot. Enter when the lyrics start.

Foreign MMA: "Identity" from the anime Shura No Toki.

I reserve the right to post again in this thread when I figure out what theme I'd use as a masked wrestler during a 'fired' angle.

"Another body murdered" by Faith No More & the Booyah tribe.

Depending on the role I play (face, evil heel ,etc) it can be edited. (longer or shorter intro) and of course that song has various different sections so one of the later parts can be used as "post match" music.

There's a few things I look for in a theme:

- Needs to be able to cut off people mid-promo effectively.
- Needs to sound good. Good enough that people would want to listen to it on their iPods.
- Distinctive, when it hits people need to know "ZOMG THAT'S HIM!!!!".

In this sense, there's one song that can fit both heel or face, regardless of swirves'n'turns:

"Here I am, ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE" by Scorpions.

Sadly, the lyrics are not PG. If we had to be PG, I'd go with:

Face: "I Will Go" by Starfield, which would only really work as a Face.

I'll need to get back you you about Heel music.

Freebird in its entirely. I'd be a heel whose goal in life would be sticking it to the "just shut up and wrestle" fans.

Welcome home, men of the 2nd Bn, 127th Infantry, 32d "Red Arrow" Brigade, WI Army National Guard! Job well done in Iraq!

Once I became the ACW commissioner, I actually needed to answer this question for real! :-)

As a face, I used Michael Jackson's "Thriller," naturally.

As a heel, I edited a custom mix. It started off with "Hail to the Chief,", followed by a record scratch and this exchange from this Miller Lite ad:

"The commish is wise."
"AMEN!"

Then an explosion, and we kick into my edit of Living Colour's "Cult of Personality."

I'll have to post the entrance video later. It's Windows Movie Maker-riffic!

I picked this when I was 14, and it would still be my entrance music today:

One and only one right answer to this question: AC/DC 'Hells Bells'.

Well OK, 'Shoot To Thrill' and Daft Punk's 'Robot Rock' are good answers as well. But I always go back to Hells Bells as my default choice. Doesn't matter if I'm a heel or face; I want a song that says "Business just picked up and shit is about to get wrecked".

I woulda gone with this, had Samoa Joe not gone there first. Harumph.

ANYWAYS

Busta Rhymes: "Fire" (youtube.com) as a face, preferably in ROH so the fans can pound the barricades in time with the piano. (Oh, and I'd sing along to the chorus.)

Seafood: "Cloaking" (youtube.com) also as a face, but I wouldn't enter until after the guitars come in. Basically, the bassline would be meant to induce an "oh CRAP" reaction from the fans/foes.

Backyard Babies: "Highlights" (youtube.com) as a decadent, Edge-style heel. Wait to enter until just after the drums come in. (Can't find a video for it, but Christiansen's "Kentucky Goddamn" might serve the same purpose.)

Face #1: Kraftwerk's "Ruckzuck" (youtube.com)

Face #2 Leftfield's "Open Up feat. John Lydon" (youtube.com) It would have to cut to the 2 min mark fast because it's a long intro.

Heel #1: Fear Factory's "Body Hammer" (youtube.com)

Heel #2 KMFDM's "A Drug Against War" (youtube.com)

There is a Green Day B-Side called "Desensitized" that I would use.

As either a face or hell. It's just got that badass riff an you could cut straight to the chorus for post match/shorter entrance.

Alternatively, for something of a different flavor, and definately face..

Then (The W) as now, my answer remains the same: Bad Boy (youtu.be), as performed by The Beatles. Works for both heel and face (well, a face w/attitude) and IMHO meets all three requirements El Nastio spells out in Post #5.

If I had to pick any WWEer's music, I'd go with Christian's "Just Close Your Eyes".

Otherwise, I'd take a page from GOB Bluth and use "The Final Countdown".

You'd get your fucking head kicked in

For wrestling games I always use something from Mega Man. I think my last created guy had the chiptuned remix of Bubbleman's stage.

Is that you, Michael Hayes?

For a Pro Wrestler I'd use GnR's Welcome to the Jungle. The little opening guitar riff would give people a chance to pop, or boo, then it kicks in and is just awesome.

MMA answer would be For Whom the Bell Tolls by Metalica.

This isn't a part of my job, necessarily. Last week, I arrived to find a dead mallard right outside my office door (my office door opens to a courtyard, and 100 feet away is a reflecting pool).
