John Morrison will be out out of action 4-6 weeks due to a pinched nerve in his neck, WWE.com reported earlier today.
According to the story, Morrison's diagnosis was confirmed by an MRI, and a neurosurgeon conducted minimally invasive surgery to move the bone and the C5 and C6 disks from around the nerve route remove a bone spur and a small fragment of the C5-C6 disc from around the nerve root.
Allegedly, the injury took place during R-Truth's assault on Morrison last week, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was simply the kayfabe explanation.
In any event, my suspicion from watching the attack last week was confirmed, in that Morrison will have to wait to get his revenge against R-Truth. And as well as they've done the storyline so far, that's a match people will pay to watch, I think.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Meltzer says WWE knew there was an injury last Monday but didn't yet know the extent of it, so that was done to write him out if needed. Needed!
Considering all that can go wrong with a neck, 4-6 weeks is pretty good.

Eeeeep!! Poor paraphrasing!!! He'd be in a) deep shit, & b) about 2.5" shorter, if that's what they'd done!
From WWE's article (wwe.com): "... Dr. Maroon created a small incision in the back of Morrison’s neck and removed a bone spur and a small fragment of the C5-C6 disc from around the nerve root."
That is, in the space between the C5 vertebra & the C6 vertebra (in the lower neck area), there was a small piece of misplaced bone material (bone spur), which they removed. And, they trimmed a small bit of the disc material, which forms the cushion between those 2 vertebrae.
The whole spine structure is kinda like a stack of alternating giant LifeSavers (the vertebrae), & squishy donuts (the discs). The spinal cord is the big bundle of nerves that runs down through the middle hole of that stack. Anything that impinges on that nerve bundle is a problem. But this was a couple of little things, which were relatively easy to correct. Yea, spinal orthopaedics!

Yes, I remember it well. It was actually Scott Hall who used his 1337 h4x0r skillz to sabotage the Kurt Angle article, since the header of the "nWo hacked" portion read "Hey yo!" Pity me for having marked out at that.
