LeRoy Butler re-negotiated his contract. He will be playing for the veteran's minimum for the next two years (three if he plays that long).
This is the second consecutive year that he has negotiated down his contract (costing himself over $2 Million). He just wants to finish his career in Green Bay.
I wish more pro athletes would take that approach. One thing I love about football is that individual players are easily associated with teams or cities. In other sports, players move so often that you can't do that.
Mean Gene: "You know, I don't think it's a question - Goldberg, I don't think it's a question of who's next, I think it's a question of who's left?" Goldberg: "No, see, that's where you're wrong. It ain't who's left, it's - WHO'S NEXT?"

Woohoo, Leroy! For a guy drafted by Lindy Infante...he's still kickin' major booty at an advanced age.
Geez, we haven't had that kind of veteran leadership in the secondary since Mark Murphy and Mark Lee. (Although deep down, I'm a Chuck Cecil mark. Reopening old nose scars with your face mask via hard hits=blading=RATINGS, baby.)
Being a Packer fan in Green Bay SO rules.

Great news about Leroy, I'm a big Packer fan. Anyone know any info on the receiver from Florida St, they drafted. Is he any good and how's his attitude.

hayabusa: You must mean Javon Walker, WR, Florida State.
Good news, Packer fans...working at Lambeau for a Green Bay TV station on draft weekend, my reporter and I got to interview Walker...and drag him out into a snowy (naturally) stadium for his First. Snowfall. EVER. So far, he's easily the most respectful NFL player I've ever met. Heck, he even called ME "sir!"
Yeah, he'll be good, but you can't expect too much from most NFL rookies. With Terry Glenn as the #1 guy, I'm hoping Walker will be able to make spot contributions and get a good year under him, without the pressure of being Brett Favre's go-to guy.
Packers.com did a Q&A with him here. His profile's here.
The inaugural NFC North title shall be ours! :-)

Terry Glenn.....#1 Receiver....BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! If Brett can get the Pack past Da Bears with that, he really can turn chicken shit into chicken salad.
Anyone remember the joy of seeing him bash the Undertaker's motorcycle with his sledgemhammer and doing no damage and being all like, "Mjolnir will not break thine cycle? I say thee NAY!" and dumping it off the stage. - Enojado Viento says the funniest thing I've ever read on Wienerville.
Sure, Brett can. We've been led to believe this is an all-new Terry Glenn. Just like Andre Rison reformed himself for the 1996 season.
Heck, Brett beat Da Bears last year, and we got rid of nearly all those receivers. BTW, is the Bears offense still pathetic? Us sideline photographers at that game last year moved north/south on the field a lot more than Jim Miller and those 10 other guys.
I quote that Happy Schnapps Combo polka: "Da Bears still suck!"

Oh, you mean that cute little ball club who got swept by us last year. Awww, what a nice group of kids.

You can tell it's getting to be FOOTBALL season (thanks for the spelling correction, CRZ), what with 210 and spf sharing the love around this here part of Wienerville.
One of the talk show hosts on ESPN Radio this morning noted that the 49'ers-Packers game hasn't sold out yet, which is unheard of. So, if you want to experience Lambeau, go for it. http://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/805947 I'll go with...
