This is a team without Zetterberg at the moment; a team with slow, horrible defense only saved from the basement by arguably the greatest defenseman to ever play; a team with inexperienced, porous goaltending.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Coyotes knock them out - all it takes is for Bryzgalov to get hot. It's happened before, to better Wings teams. And I'll be actually shocked if they get past the second round. You can never count out refs flagging Holmer for breathing on the goalie wrong.
Is this going to turn into one of those weird superstitions where you make a post like this before every Red Wings win?

I guess it'd be like posting a banner pick of the Sharks every day during a series. :)

It's a nice club to be in, the shutout club. And I know we shouldn't judge things on one game, but it looks like Kovalev decided to play for a bit.
You know, Price played great this year. If Lars Eller can be a fourth line player for us I consider the deal to the Blues a win. If he doesn't do anything....I'd still consider it a win.
After a (very) long hiatus, I have begun to write again. And this time, I'm not alone!

I think the Sharks are heavily rooting for Luongo tonight. Right now I'd rather face the Predators than the Blackhawks.
In the east only the Capitals did what they were supposed to do, dump the Rangers without (seemingly) too much effort. Most of the games were good & close even though in general the Caps were a better, especially in generating offense.
The Flyers started their annual "let's switch goalies" fest now that they are in trouble. I hope the Sabres can win it And the Bruins seem to have turned things around after those two losses and it looks like they have solved the Canadiens.

If the Canucks win tonight, the Sharks would face the Red Wings, not the Predators. That said, I'd rather see the Blackhawks win so the Red Wings face the Preds and not the Sharks. No more 10:30pm games for me, please.

They were trailing in the 3rd period three times, so I guess you could look at it one of two ways. They're super resilient new Caps, or they struggled with the 8 seed and Boudreau is already in excuse-making unfair refs mode.

If the Sabres had been even halfway competent I could look super smart in this thread! I hope the Flyers dress all 3 tonight.
"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." --- Bart Giamatti, on baseball
I don't know NHL trade rules very well, but unless Nashville somehow trades for Chris Campoli before the start of the next round I don't see any way they don't beat Vancouver.
