I'm still on the fence about buying Mortal Kombat. Saw it get a good score on IGN and the fatality videos I have seen look gruesomely amazing. I did hear that there are some frustrations about how cheap the single player mode can be with some bosses, and because that is primarily where I would spend my time, I am conflicted. I will probably play online though, so that could help push me over the top on buying it.
I also heard that Portal 2 is amazing, but I feel that I would be very frustrated with the game.

Mortal Kombat is what it is. Of course the bosses are cheap as hell. (1% more health than Goro? Time for a 60% damage unbreakable combo) But it's not really different than any other version of the game, is it? It's tons of fun, and all the art and gameplay changes just feel right. It's definately worth picking up if you're a fan of the series.
Though I would say that the PS3 version is the one to get if you're only interested in the Arcade mode and you have both systems. The online is sort of bleh on PS3 because Playstation's online service is bleh, but Kratos is actually a pretty cool character to play around with.

I did end up buying it for Xbox because as much as I would have enjoyed playing as Kratos, my PS3 online service is so bleh as you put it that the lag probably would have killed it. I did one run as Raiden playing the 10 match arcade mode on Easy and enjoyed it. It did take a few times to beat Goro and it took many times to beat Shao Khan, but I finally got my cheapness on and just threw the lightning and then went with the jump kick. I would then teleport if he got too close, and then rinse repeat.
I am happy with the purchase so far, and I got a few friends who are happy that I bought it so they can play it as well.

I'm wondering when we'll get a firmware update that will get rid of the Folding@Home option, since it's no longer used or supported. A real shame, if you ask me.
