Yeah, ten years ago. And then Vince went to her wedding five years ago. How many employee weddings that didn't involve his son and daughter has Vince McMahon attended? I wonder if Vince will go to John Morrison and Melina's wedding?
Morrison shot himself in the foot at the worst possible time. Babyface spot in the Raw world title match opens up the same night the top babyface spot on Smackdown opens up and Morrison is on the outs. :(
I'm slightly confused... Vince won't push him because he let Batista take his woman? What's he supposed to do? Beg for her to stay with him? If he fights him and beats him up, he gets in trouble for hurting a main eventer. If he loses he's a pussy. That's the most bizarre reason I've ever heard for not pushing someone.
Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"
Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"
Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"
Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

Does nobody remember that Trish got her revenge on Vince, like, a month later after this happened? She, Linda and Shane all gave Vince his comeuppance at Wrestlemania 17. It was part of an angle, people.

Yeah, it's not like Vince to be thinking irrationally.
While I can't speak for Vince and that weird brain of his, I don't think he had to physically fight Batista but at the very least stand up to him and Melina and Vince might've had some respect for him.
As a professional he should've have been a dick to Trish regardless of her backstage respect or standing with Vince...especially for Wrestlemania...especially for the match getting all the mainstream celebrity attention.
Wrestlemania is supposed to be a special event. If Trish Stratus, or the Rock--or Steve Austin, or Batista, or Chris Jericho, or any one else who is a legitimate star in the eyes of the fans--is willing and able to wrestle on the show, they absolutely should put that person on, even if he or she has been out of action the rest of the year.
It's not supposed to be for the wrestlers. It's supposed to be--to the extent that it's anything beyond making money--about the fans. You know, the people who pay to see it. Anyone really think that most of the people paying their money would have preferred to see Melina wrestle rather than Trish?

I just got the mental image of Morrison stepping up to Batista, sticking a finger in his face, and angrily reciting the lyrics to his own theme.
I hope Justin, John, and everyone relishes that visual as much as I do. If it helps, imagine he turns on Melina at the "wasting time" part.

Merely based on the version I've heard Morrison came off very weak. He should've confronted Batista and dumped Melina. Kendrick and London's shoot interview just about made it sound like John held both Melina and Batista's hands while they screwed and then took them out for ice cream aftwerwards. At least Matt Hardy still whines and moans about Lita.
So let me get this straight....Vince doesn't respect Morrison because he didn't make a fuss over Batista and Melina, (which some would call keeping personal shit out of the locker room) but got rid of Chyna when HD boyfriend was schtooping his daughter.
I think that might be pretty akin to losing trust in a member of your team for the disruption they're causing in the locker room simply from the gossip. Morrison should have - maybe, really, I'm just assuming a lot without knowing jack - taken that story out of the boys and into his own business, and for that Vince lost respect for him.
That said, dude was the highlight of the Rumble, he has physical talent, etc. Too bad he's stupid enough to bad-mouth Trish Stratus, who is smart enough to diplomatically deflect it.

If Morrison doesn't respect himself, then why should Vince (or anyone)?
By the way - and I swear, this is absolutely the last thing I post about John Morrison (this week) - did everyone see the segment when Edge came through the back and hugged the Superstars and Divas after his farewell on RAW?
First guy next to the gate was Dolph Ziggler, who Edge hugged and said words to. Immediately next to Dolph was John Morrison, who reached out his arm and tried to say something to Edge -- and Edge brushed right by him! Edge hugged Eve, Goldust, the Bellas, Natalya, Tyson Kidd, Yoshi Tatsu, why he even fist bumped the Great Khali, but he blew right by John Morrison - who wanted a hug - without even looking at him! That's one hell of a cold shoulder Edge has.
Incidentally, Trish Stratus was in North Carolina over the weekend at the ActionFest film festival to premiere her new movie Bail Enforcers, and who was there to lend support? Lisa Marie (Victoria/Tara) Varon and... Edge. I guess Toronto-ians stick together.
Originally posted by Amos CochranI don't get why everyone's hung up on the Batista incident. The blowing-off of Trish is obviously what's landed him in hot water.
I think people view the Batista thing is a the cornerstone of Morrison's backstange problems. Even though when MNM first debuted, there was already talk of Melina going diva on the locker room and Morrison being her lap dog. Yet, that is almost every rumor when a diva debuts as a heel and to be fair MNM was so far down the line, it probably didn't register. Batista banging Melina while Morrison stood by is more sensational then it is anything else. You got sex, locker room bullying and a very creepy factor it. Its also the first big backstage story dealing with John, so it somehow becomes this key thing on why he doesn't get pushed even though he had solid wins after the fiasco.
I do agree giving Trish the cold shoulder which is more like being unprofessional then anything else. I do agree just make Morrison/Melina, the Edge/Lita of Raw and play up how they are being kept down, because of backstage politics. It would be an interesting way to go even though its not going to be very PG.
The average WWE fan probably hasn't even heard of the AWA. And the reason I used favors was to give motivation if 1 team has 2 guys that are currently feuding. Why would the heel try to win to put money in the face's pocket (or vice versa)?
