Start taping Kids WB religiously, even though you're getting all the DVDs...Episode #1 and #2 TODAY, and they're running in order....well, 'til they get tired of running them in order. It looks like the next two weeks WILL have the first 20 episodes in order, though...that'd be a single 8 hour tape if I weren't just gonna tape them in my sleep, but I am, so I better spring for two tapes. ;-)
Pokémon airs in most time zones on your WB affiliate at 3pm and again at 4pm! CATCH THEM ALL!
It was a funny episode. Got it on VCD two years ago for Christmas. I was going to fansub it for friends and family last year, but the site that had a translated script went down before I got to save it.
Hey, CRZ. Did you ever see that Japanese episode where James (Koji) gets huge inflatable breasts for a bikini contest? That's entertainment!
Steve
That episode actually aired in America ("Holiday at Auropoco") as a "lost" episode, but alas, I never saw it, so I can't tell you how censored it was. I'm kinda hoping it will resurface in this current run...we'll know in about three weeks I guess.
Incidentally, I've picked up the two remaining "lost" episodes (Legend of Dratini and Electric Soldier Porygon) in Japanese, in RealVideo from a German website - if anybody's interested in them, they're each about 35M but I'd be happy to share. Last I heard was "Legend of Dratini" HAD been dubbed in English...so I'm sure SOME day it will be aired as well. As for the "seizure" episode...well sheesh, can't they just alter those frames? Surely that wouldn't take (team) rocket science!
[Decides that he should simply get all of the stuff from Japan, with English subtitles, and in doing so learn Japanese...]

---=---:---=--- [Look up a line] Wow, that belt looks like crap... I'll take it and carry it around for years and see if people can take it away from me... What? What was that? You mean even THIS belt doesn't matter! What? I'm insulted! Get away from me you... you... defiler!
Yeah, I saw the 4-Kids version. Little was cut other than the obvious James boobage scene. The last time I searched for it, the American version was only shown twice. Hopefully, Kid's WB will show it this go around.
And yes I would love the Porygon episode if it's not a problem. The early Japanese ones are great just for the added nerd bonus of Iron Chef's Takeshi Kaga doing the narration.
If you still need "Holiday at Auropoco", let me know. I'll see if I can rip it after I get back from vacation.
and Mike,
Unfortunately, there seems to be little subtitled Pokemon available. I have a fan-subbed version of the second movie and thus far that's all I've seen.

Ebay had quite a few Japanese "Revelation Lugia" (Pokémon 2000) DVDs out there - supposedly they have English subtitles. I went ahead and bid on one; I'll let you know.
The porygon episode was quite obviously a black eye on the creators of Pokemon. To put it in wrestling terms, if DDP was producing a video of every one of his matches ever, couldn't you find it in your heart to excuse him if he happened to leave the match with Sara out of it?
Pokeman looks so doofy and kid like that I've never even taken the time to watch it... but I suppose lots of people say that about wrestling as well. What is it about Pokeman that sucks a person in. Is it the storyline, or the characters or just the fun, wide eyed, Japanese animation.
It's the pokemon themselves that will draw you in, but it's Team Rocket that keeps you coming back. The slapstick comedy writing, especially for James, is some of the best I've seen.

I got you beat. My WHOLE TOWN is (*used to be) starring Jerry Van Dyke. Yes, Benton, AR, (former) home of Jerry Van Dyke's Royal Theater, Jerry Van Dyke's Antique Shoppe, Jerry Van Dyke's Candy Store, and (still) Jerry Van Dyke's Soda Shoppe.
