I think my avatar speaks for itself, and it goes without saying how unhappy I am after seeing this schedule.

Capitals beat the Rangers.
Miller Time begins again, the Sabres pull off the upset.
The Drive for 25 begins NOW as the Habs beat the Bruins.
The Penguins beat the Lightening.

The Canucks, Sharks, and Wings all roll into the second round. The Predators will join them.

You could cancel Versus and pay for NHL Center Ice for two weeks and then bring back Versus if they advance.

Or streams!

MLB Network must owe them a lot of money.

(I have no idea what my point is.)

Frankly I'm shocked...though I appreciate the respect given to them...that people are picking the Wings.

This is a team without Zetterberg at the moment; a team with slow, horrible defense only saved from the basement by arguably the greatest defenseman to ever play; a team with inexperienced, porous goaltending.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Coyotes knock them out - all it takes is for Bryzgalov to get hot. It's happened before, to better Wings teams. And I'll be actually shocked if they get past the second round. You can never count out refs flagging Holmer for breathing on the goalie wrong.

Round 1
Washington over New York
Philadelphia over Buffalo
Boston over Montreal
Tampa Bay over Pittsburgh

Vancouver over Chicago
San Jose over LA
Detroit over Phoenix
Nashville over Anaheim

Here's what I know about PHI/BUF.

Philadelphia: losing a lot
Buffalo: winning a lot
Philadelphia: Bob Rovsky and Boucher in net
Buffalo: Ryan Miller

Philadelphia's getting Pronger back (right? eventually?), who's only probably the best postseason player since the lockout. But that series is looking a little Sabrey.

Can the Capitals win a second playoff series? Can they do it in less than 7 games? Guilty until proven innocent!

3. Boston Bruins in 6

4. Pittsburgh Penguins in 5

West:
1. Vancouver Canucks in 7

. Los Angeles Kings in 7

Who will win the Stanley Cup? Pittsburgh (sticking with my preseason pick)

Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you...

EAST
-----
- Capitals in 5. Rangers are just too beat up to put up much of a fight.
- Sabres in 6. The Flyers are struggling at the wrong time and the Sabres are equipped for the playoffs.
- Canadiens in 6 in the bloodiest series ever. There's no way in hell the winner of this advances past the next round.
- Lightning in 6. At some point, not having Crosby *has* to catch up to the Penguins.

WEST
-----
- Canucks in 7. Vancouver's historical playoff struggles and Chicago's desire to not yield quietly mean this goes the distance.
- Sharks in 5. LA's playoff inexperience puts them at a decided disadvantage.
- Coyotes in 7. I see this one playing out a lot like last year, only this time, Phoenix gets revenge.
- Predators in 7. They're very evenly matched, so I'm going with the heart here.

While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.
