After MANY seasons of staying away from this show, I have to say, I am fully engrossed in this season. I have not seen all the other seasons - just bits and pieces and hearsay - but this looks/sounds like the best collection of top talent ever. They are down to 9 and I have to say 6-7 of them could actually win this. Last night was real fun to watch. With the exception of Lauren who sang Aretha (her voice was not strong enough for the song) they were all fantastic. usually, someone bombs, but not last night.

I have to say, I do not think he will win, but Paul's version of Johnny Cash's Fulsom County was outstanding. When I heard he was going to sing it, I figured this was going to be the bomb of the night. But he totally changed up the song and rocked it. I was more than a little impressed.

I think the next three to go are most likely Lauren, then Stefano and then Paul. From there, when they are down to James, Casey, Hailey, Jacob, Pia and Scotty, I have no idea who will be cut each week.

If I was a betting man, I would say Pia to win as the safe bet and Casey as the long shot.

If you did not see last night's show, check it out. There were some really, really strong perfomances.

I'm right there with you.

The most shocking thing was closing the show with Paul. I didn't have faith in that, regardless of what song he sang. But I loved his performance, despite how strange it was to see someone sing that song with a blinding white smile.

I cannot stand Scotty's mannerisms, or how he holds a mic. Other than that, he's pretty awesome.

Hard to pick a bottom three. I'm pretty sure Lauren's in it. I want to say Stefano, but he may have gotten a surge in support after last night. So...Lauren, Haley, Jacob.

I loved Paul's performance. And just to be sure, I watched it again and still love it. Along with Casey's version of CCR's Have You Ever Seen the Rain, it was my favorites of the night.

Lauren and Stefano SHOULD be the next two to go. If I had to guess, Stefano since not one guy has been eliminated since the top 13.

I am also not a fan of Scotty's smirk, but out of all of them, he has the chance to be the most successful post Idol. You know Nashville can not WAIT to get their hands on him!

I am a fan of james Durbin and hope he does well. I do not see a solo career in his future, but I do see him fronting a band. He has the IT factor and it is hard to root against him (Asperger's and Tourettes). I hope he makes it to the top 5, but from there, I think Hailey, Scotty, Pia and Casey are stronger. But really, I have no idea how this will end.

Jacob is going home sooner than later. You can't suck AND be unlikable...Jennifer Hudson was unlikable and she came in 7th despite being really good. Jacob is no J-Hud, even if he is black, fat, and half-woman.

The final two are going to be Scotty and Pia.

Yeah, Jacob's paraphrased, "If I end up in the bottom, it's not my fault, it's YOUR fault for not seeing how awesome I am" in his pre-song comments was pretty assholey. I've been tired of him for a while now and hope he at least gets shocked, although Stefano, for me, for you, is the one that seems to scream "Send me home!".

My favorites were James Durbin, Casey and Haley, who gets no love usually but I thought really kicked ass on the Janice Joplin. Pia's gorgeous and has a great voice, but is dead behind the eyes, and Lauren, while likable, just seems desperate sometimes and I think is suffering from almost wanting it too bad and getting caught up in it all.

My bottom 3: Lauren, Jacob, Stefano
Sent Home: Should be Stefano, will probably be Lauren. Girls just have no luck with Idol voters anymore.

Fronting an 80's hair band maybe. That's all I can see when he sings. Very easy for me to root against him. Comes across as fake and I hate the screeching as much now as I did when Lambert spent a whole season doing it. I predict the same level of success for James.

Pia can sing really well, but I don't like her much either. Robotic up there and really boring. Scotty isn't anything super special and that way he holds the mic bothers me, but yeah he could have a career in country music with good writers. I don't see him writing his own stuff, but who knows.

Of them all I could see Paul actually making an album I would listen to, but there's little chance he's going to win this thing.

Stefano seriously needs to get in touch with Disney. With his voice, looks and over-acting on stage, they'd make that boy their next Big Time Rush type star.

It's been a much better season than last year though, where I gave up a couple weeks after the auditions.

The first surprising thing about this season is Jennifer Lopez. I totally expected her to fall on her face at being a judge, but she's given more actual helpful advice than all the judges in all the previous seasons combined.

And for the life of me, I can't figure out why they gush over Hailey every time. She sucks. Her "janice" is so phony and forced. You either "have it" or you don't. Trying to sound like that is like needles in my ear drums.

I love Durbin, and I can see where he isn't everybody's cup of tea, but he has a strong voice, and the difference between his high pitch singing and Adam Lambert's is, he's learned to dial it down and only use it when it makes sense in the song. Lambert never did that.

Pia has the strongest voice, and even if she doesn't win, she'll have a strong career. I am sure Dianne Warren already has a song written for her that she can take to number one.

Scotty? Eh, his routine of: Start every song sitting down, holding the mic like a piccalo, then smirking his way through a song is annoying as hell, but 90% of today's country artists are just as annoying, so when he gets the boot, Nashville will eat him up quickly and have an album out within months.

I love Paul's voice, but he's limited to what type of songs he can sing. I'd love to hear him do KISS's "Hard Luck Woman".

And Stefano should have been home weeks ago.

Casey is my favorite, just because he looks like he's actually into the singing, and not just trying to look good on TV.

And what was with Lauren? She said in auditions that "Don't want to miss a thing" was her favorite song, sang part of it for Tyler, then has a chance to do it live, with a full band and turns around and tries to be Aretha Light?

Jacob is okay, but HIS over the top style is more akin to Lambert that James Durban's is.

I see a final with Pia and Scotty. Pia will get the "She has a great voice" votes, and Scotty will get the country votes.

Well, so much for Pia!

I said at the beginning fo the show that I can see them throwing someone like Pia in the bottom three just to scare up votes and to shake everyone up. I never thought she was going to be cut.

I am sticking with my dark horse of Casey. I think his chances just doubled now with Pia gone.

And how many people in the audience even HEARD off Iggy Pop! What the heck was that? That has to be the oddest choice for a singer AI has ever picked. I loved how JLO forced a smile through the whole song and even more loved how Iggy blew off Randy Jackson's high five and left him hanging.

Stefano should play the lottery. No one thought he would get more votes than Pia.

Bet Pia regrets going up-tempo. :-)

We're pretty much at the point now where every elimination is going to be shocking (outside of one or two).

If nothing else, this season has finally convinced people (like myself) to actually vote. I enjoy Casey's performances each week, and think he's going to be in the final three with Scotty and James. Then again, I had thought Pia would probably win Idol, and felt Jacob had a legitimate shot (pre-ultimatum). Stefano is a nice singer, but I felt he wasn't as strong as the other two guys in the wildcard (Jovanny/Robbie).

It's actually kind of interesting that only females have been the bottom vote-getters to this point (Ashthon, Karen, Thia, Naima, and Pia). While I enjoy Lauren far more than Stefano and/or Paul, it totally wouldn't shock me to see Haley and then Lauren voted off before either guy - not that I'd bet money on it, just saying that it would be less of a surprise than seeing Pia go.

Also, I thought this Iggy Pop tidbit was funny:

I don't think I could've done the right job for them on that particular show. I think Steven (Tyler) does a really, really good job of it.

With Pia gone and watching the perfomances tonight, I would have to say the final six will be all male.

Jacob - I like his voice but hate his personality. I can't see him winning but can see him making the top 4.

Scotty - My kids love him. I love him less each week. Again, great voice, but I think he comes up short. Top 3.

James - Just the opposite - like the personality more each week, like the voice a little less. He is a rocker and I beleive will have a decent career, top 3 likely, possibly the finals.

Stefano - when they get down to the six guys, he is the first to go. Generic. Sometimes I forget he is on the show.

Paul - I like Paul more and more, but there is no way he is winning this. Top 5, msaybe a sneaky top4 pick, but no more.

Casey - I picked him to win it all and I think he will. His performance tonight was awesome, as it was last week. The judges ADORE him. I think America is coming around to him. Top 3 for sure, and, in my book, the odds on favorite to win it all.

Great season so far. Really, really enjoying it.

So, did J.Lo's plea to vote for the girls have any effect? I hope so, because Stefano needs to leave, but alas, I think Haley is done. That song was not right for her at all. It was too loud and too fast. When she finally got loud enough to keep up, she was just shouting. I hope I'm wrong.

Agreed. I'm done with him. I loved Jimmy Iovine knocking him down a peg or two.

I would've loved to hear him (and not watch him) sing "Everybody's Talkin'"

He's my fave.

I like Casey, and even if "America didn't get it", he's still probably riding that wave of extra support after his near-fall. But, I didn't like this. Maybe it's just my untrained ear, but it sounded like his voice was all over the place. I couldn't enjoy this.

Not to sound like a broken record, but I also just got caught up in the show over the weekend. I must be the only one interested in the Vegas stripepr's story, as I'm really intrigued by what her actual power will end up being manifested as.
