TNA doesn't pay half of it's performers diddly, why would you expect Vince to?

Also, I'm sure AJ Styles, er Stylez, would be put to use, as would Samoa "Hey, Remember why the WWE Came Up with Umaga?" Joe.

Where did I say I expected him to do that? Joe was a free agent at the end of last year and from I've read The WWE showed little to no interest and that's why he re-signed with TNA. As far as Styles, I don't think he'd get a chance to be much more than a midcarder in the WWE.

I think you said it next to the spot where I said I wanted wrestlers to be put out of work.

It wouldn't be surprise of the year, but the return of the World X Cup would get me to watch some TNA.

Can anybody explain to me what a SURPRISE is?

Because if you're hyping it, it isn't really going to surprise anybody.

And, in that few minutes I saw why I don't watch TNA.

Jeff Jarret and Kurt Angle? Really is that crap needed?
Who controls TNA? Really? Are there really two people fighting to be the one to blame for this shit?

    D or F level "celebrities"?

Hyping a guy who hasn't been relevant is how many years?

    Matt Morgan and Hernandez?

I keep reading these TNA threads, hoping there might be something that might make me want to tune in and see it, and they never have anything.

Although you asked for an explanation of a surprise, insinuating a noun, I'm going to go with the verb definition since the noun definition basically refers to the verb.

    sur·prise  /sərˈpraɪz
    –verb (used with object)
    1.
to strike or occur to with a sudden feeling of wonder or astonishment, as through unexpectedness: Her beauty surprised me.

Because if you're hyping it, it isn't really going to surprise anybody.

The surprise wasn't that something was going to occur at the end of Impact, the surprise was what it was that occurred. They didn't hype what was occurring, thus what occurred was still a surprise.

And, in that few minutes I saw why I don't watch TNA.

    Yet you watched TNA.

Jeff Jarret and Kurt Angle? Really is that crap needed?

What crap? One wrestler stealing another wrestler's woman? Classic storyline that will always, always draw heat. So yes, I would say that it's probably needed.

Who controls TNA? Really? Are there really two people fighting to be the one to blame for this shit?

But it's the fight that's CAUSING all the problems. Once control is settled, things will get better!

      D or F level "celebrities"?

Without bothering to look, I would guess that the Jersey Shore has probably made more money than all of The Rock's movies combined. The show certainly gets better ratings than wrestling ever has. So it could be argued that even a minor cast member from the Jersey Shore is a bigger celebrity than just about anyone in the history of pro wrestling with the exception of Hulk Hogan.

Hyping a guy who hasn't been relevant is how many years?

Yes, Sting is so irrelevant that dirt sheets and forums were going batshit over the potential of him appearing on WWE TV.

      Matt Morgan and Hernandez?

Matt Morgan is the best big man in wrestling today. The only thing holding him back is TNA.

I keep reading these TNA threads, hoping there might be something that might make me want to tune in and see it, and they never have anything.

Yet you keep reading them. It was supposedly Albert Einstein who once said that the definition of insanity was doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps you should accept that TNA isn't the problem. It's you.

I get it, you love TNA. I'm a rube for expecting something of more quality than what I see every few months when I tune in.

Matt Morgan may be the best big man, but that's almost like the old "if a tree falls in the woods" logic. If he's great, but hardly anybody is watching, does it matter?

and OMG! The IWC was abuzz because Sting might go to WWE! When is the last time Sting had a quality match? We all make fun of TNA because they think Hogan is the answer to anything, but somehow the about equally washed up Sting is something special?

As for the Kurt/Jeff/Karen triangle, how long has that been drawn out?
Seems like forever. Hell, the Hogan/Savage/Elizabeth storyline wrapped up quicker. The difference is, it was HOGAN AND SAVAGE. Two men on the top of the game at the time (at least where WWF was concerned). But Jeff and Angle are how far down the pecking order in TNA?

I can let everything go but this.

You really tried to just say with a straight face that Jersey Shore's Angelina is a bigger celebrity than Dwayne Johnson and hope that would pass.

You really implied that Jersey Shore has made more money than all of Johnson's movies combined. That....wow. That is just UNBELIEVABLY wrong.

"Hey TNA, in this hypothetical scenario, you have the option of inviting on your show either Angelina from Jersey Shore or you could have The Rock. Who would you prefer there?"

"Well, you know, I don't normally do hypothetcials but oh, MAN, bring us Angelina NOW. Also, if we could have her appear during the hour that iMPACT! is in direct timeslot competition with a new episode of Jersey Shore...well that would be brilliant."

Savage jumping on the patio furniture, coming down and delivering a double ax handle on the grill and then getting on the furniture again to drop the flying elbow is something I'd pay to view.

    Box Office (In Millions)
    Faster $23.2
    The Tooth Fairy $58.6
    Race to Witch Mountain $67.1
    The Game Plan $90.5
    Gridiron Gang $38.4
    Doom $28.0
    Walking Tall $45.9
    The Rundown $47.6
    The Scorpion King $90.3

So a total of $489,600,000. This is not counting his roles in The Other Guys ($119.2), Planet 51 ($42.2), Get Smart ($130.2), and Be Cool ($55.6).

You should really "bother to look" next time.

The Jersey Shore is a very, very popular show. And I doubt that any significant number of their viewers are particularly interested in watching TNA Wrestling, but if I'm wrong when the ratings come back for these shows, then let me know! Cheers had higher ratings than wrestling, too. This is like if someone had booked Paul for a wrestling appearance at the height of that show's popularity.

I don't even like TNA. The last time I watched a complete episode of TNA from beginning to end was the day Hogan debuted.

So are you criticizing Matt Morgan for being in TNA or are you criticizing TNA for putting Matt Morgan on TV? I'm not even sure what the argument is here.

When is the last time Sting had a quality match?

March 27, 1988. When was the last time The Rock had a quality match? HHH? The Undertaker? (Obviously, much more recently than 1988 but not so recent as to refute the point.)

As for the Kurt/Jeff/Karen triangle, how long has that been drawn out?

So the problem is that TNA drags their storylines on for too long? I thought the problem was that they couldn't stick to a storyline to see it through.

Jeff and Angle are how far down the pecking order in TNA?

Let's see. They're both multi-time world champions who were in the second highest billed match on the card last month. I'd say the only way they're going to be any higher up the pecking order is if the world title were involved in the feud and that would just be convoluting things.

I will concede that I was way off about money, now that I've gone through and checked The Rock's box office receipts. I had no clue that The Scorpion King and The Game Plan both made over $100 million in profit. I made the mistake of thinking his box office was closer to The Rundown, Doom & Southland Tales, which lost a combined $20 Million.

I'll also concede that I was slightly off in regards to ratings. While this week's episode of The Jersey Shore did have more viewers than Raw and Impact combined, once you include Smackdown, wrestling wins out slightly. Of course, that's assuming that Raw's, Smackdown's and Impact's viewers were completely different people. In actuality, if you eliminate the people who watched more than one of the three shows, it's likely Jersey Shore had more unique viewers.

But of course you'd rather have The Rock on a wrestling show than anyone from Jersey Shore. But that's irrelevant, as TNA has never hyped Angelina as being on the level of The Rock. They simply announced that she was going to be on the show. Seeing as the show she was on is watched by more people than any wrestling show, it stands to reason that a few new people might tune in to TNA to see her. And it's well within the region of logic to think that people who like The Jersey Shore might also enjoy Vince Russo's writing. So I don't see them doing anything wrong.

Oh, I think there was one more recent than that. Presented for consideration: June 20, 1992 - Sting vs. Cactus Jack Falls Count Anywhere match WCW Beach Blast, which for years was Mick Foley's favorite match.

If there's a more recent great Sting match, I sure as hell didn't see it or don't remember it.

Attention TNA fanboys, I am not a WWE fanboy returning fire across the bow, I am a WCW fanboy who desperately needs you to understand what has been said many times before in this thread:

The majority of us don't care about Sting unless he's in the WWE. Period.

We've seen his song and dance in TNA. There's nothing left for him to do, and even if he went to the WWE his motivation would be suspect let alone wrestling in front of a theme park crowd in the same building every week.

He hasn't been in Titanland. Even if his matches wouldn't be great (we weren't expecting a whole hell of a lot) he's the last big dog from WCW to never appear. It might be too late and the interest might be purely based on the novelty (like if Huey Lewis and Billy Corgan made a rap album together backed by the Talking Heads and They Might Be Giants) alone, that's what we want to see. Sting (more Neon Sting than Crow Sting) throwing down in WWE.

    To reiterate:

The majority of us don't care about Sting unless he's in the WWE. Period.
