It's a new record of futility. But rather than post the sad news from the usual ESPN link, let's do something a little different and look at this from the point of view of Cavs blog:

The end of the game went like this: the Mavs played tight, the Cavs got themselves back in the game thanks to Ramon pushing the ball and Jamison making a big three and a big steal, and Jamison and Hickson made horrible decisions early in the clock that kept the Cavs from getting a good chance to tie the game or cut the lead to one. Parker had a chance at a pull-up three to tie it, the Cavs got the rebound, Moon decided his chances of passing to another shooter were better than his chances of draining a contested three, and time ran out. Game over. History made. Until next time. Every game is a chance to make history now, right?

For as much as I'd love for the misery to end for the Cavs, I have to hope we get at least a few more losses to set up for the epic clash between the Wizards (worst road team in decades) and Cavs (worst basketball team, period, in decades), where only one futile streak can survive.

If they hadn't beaten the Knicks in OT in December, it would be mid 30's by this point.

Even worse, without that win against the Knicks in OT, it would mean the Cavs have lost EVERY SINGLE GAME since the night LeBron and the Heat came to town.

Here's the insanely sad thing about this. The supposed silver lining is that the Cavs will at least come out with a top draft pick. Forget the fact that the talent pool isn't all that good this year. Does anyone actually expect any kids to go pro after this year with a lockout imminent? With that in mind, even the prospect of a #1 pick doesn't hold much water at this point.

I really do feel terrible for this team's fanbase.

While I still think Atlanta fans (and then after them, maybe Miami fans) are the least SUPPORTIVE fans in the country, I'm with you on Utah fans. What the hell is wrong with these people?
