http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/170624/Alex-Shelley-Suffers-Broken-Collarbone.htm Well that sucks. They were gonna break up The MCMG anyway so does Shelley get thrown through the barber shop window? Maybe by the time he comes back they'll decide to reunite them or Sabin might be the X Division champ and have them feud. The Tag team division in TNA is pretty weak right now.

The MCMG breakup reportedly was not meant to be a permanent breakup, but a short term way of fixing the X Division. They'd both would've been singles going for the title for a while with the plan of putting them back together months down the road. Shelley's injury is bad, but actually sort of allows them to do the same thing with Sabin without having to do the split in the first place.

They need to stop pilaging the tag division every time they decide to try and revive the X-Division. What they need are guys that are basically exclusive to that division. Right now the X-Div has three guys: Lethal, Kaz, and Amazing Red. And really, Lethal should have moved on to at least the TV title.

Breaking up the Gunns would be a huge mistake. Does anyone remember Sabin's heel run as X-Champ? Horrible.

True, but Sabin was pretty hot as a face in the X Division at one point and if they were going to break up MCMG I assume one would be face and one heel. Sabin as a face and Shelley as a heel would work.

I hope this means we get a good MCMG reunion when Shelley comes back in a few months, rather than the predictable swerve turn that's bound to happen the minute he returns.

The only thing i can remember from that period is one time when he looked as if he was gonna do an impressive springboard move from the apron, but then just jumped straight down from the top rope to the matt, smiled or winked at the camera, and then dropped a fist. I liked that.

I just think the Gunns are one of those rare teams that are stronger as a unit than apart. Ricky Morton was an awesome worker, but would he have ever had the level of success of the Rock n Roll Express as a singles?

I think Shelley and Sabin are awesome together, but if booked correctly, and given a good push they'd be more than fine apart. Alex Shelley would be a great heel, imo. He has plenty of charisma and is really good on the mic. He would be a great cocky heel. Shelley reminds me of a Young Chris Jericho.

He did have a nice series of matches against Flair for the NWA Title in the summer of '86. Then again, it was Flair in the mid 80's, so it would have been difficult not to have a nice series of matches.

Sucks. They are part of the best thing in TNA. I hope he gets better, I am headed for the Impactzone at the end of March.

Flair had decent singles matches with the Road Warriors that summer. That has to be the best year any wrestler has had in North America.

I missed a week, but I wouldn't miss this one for nuthin'. It's going to be Asuka vs. Nikki Cross in a Last Man Standing match, and it is going to be phenomenal. We've got assorted other nonsense to take care of first, though.
