Just curious as a newbie, why is there a rule against posting while the show is running? I realize that some people are in different time zones and all, but they can always avoid the threads mentioning any info. So just so I know for the future, what is the reasoning behind the rule?
I think it's because when people comment on the show while it's on, the thread in which they are commenting is really long, and tends to be boring to read the next day. and I recall the phrase "Weinerville is not a chatroom". or something.

but I could be wrong.
i think i remember all that when it went down the first time...
many people complained that we were "spoiling" a live show and the Brothers Zim basically said "Lighten up Francis, it's a LIVE show...you can't spoil something that is live and if you don't want to be spoiled, avoid the forums until raw/smackdown is over"
but already i can see little russoisms right and left...
[EDIT//this is my last comment of the night, i think i'm repeating myself and i want to avoid the Zim's rath]
and, oh yeah, i'm offically embarrased for Raven and Dreamer...listen to that crowd...

I actually had expectations for their match, too, and when I heard the deafening silence they received I just felt awful for the them. It's a shame the WWF hasn't given the fans a chance to really care about them to make one of them leaving actually mean something. And good lord do I not count having Tommy Dreamer eat food off of the floor as making an attempt to get him over.
Geez, cfbg, not one for unbridled enthusiasm, are you?
I dunno, I just get this optimistic feeling about Raw from the show. It really feels like they're trying to start fresh and get new things going. Should be cool.
*GASP* OPTIMISM? On a wrestling message board? Remove that man immediately!
Any else think we've entered the "aggression" era of WWE?
I think that finger from Nash smelled more of Nash than Russo.
Karl: If you had a neck and I had hands I would squeeze your brain which is your body right out of the top of your head which does not exist! Zorak: That's some great hair. Karl: Thanks, it's not real.
I'm not sure what Nash's finger smelled like, but it did seem like Russo had something to do with Raw.
Remember how Russo started his New Blood Era with wcw?
A: All the up and coming wrestlers gathered in the ring while said owner gave inspirational speech.
Now the titles weren't all given up for tournaments but you get my point.
Then there was the one minute match between Bubba Ray and Eddy...Can anybody say crash tv.
Honorable mention goes to the cater to the smarks comments by Vince about Scott Hall.
That's all I can think of now. Maybe I am looking to hard to place Russo behind this ep...maybe not.

I don't see how Vince's comment about Scott Hall was “catering to the smarks”, seeing how it had already been established on WWF television that Hall had been shown the door.
And Vince didn't bring up the real reason, either. If you'll remember, the storyline reason Ric Flair fired Hall is because he kept getting his ass kicked by Austin or something like that. Vince didn't mention the incident on the plane or anything-- he just mentioned that Hall had been fired, which had already been established.
I was just reaching for reasons of why Russo would be there and I was tired. It's just weird to hear Vince talk on national t.v. about people he's fired.

Tonight's RAW wasn't really much different than other RAWs lately. Same type of stuff more or less.
If Russo was booking, good for him, because I didn't leave feeling like I'd just wasted two hours.
I'm with you, Chris. I didn't see anything here that was much different than the last few weeks. There have been lots of short matches lately.
My wife came into the room at one point (see, she's smart and doesn't watch this crap) and said something like "Do they ever actually wrestle on this show?" I could only answer with "um, sometimes."
He's Rolie Polie Olie - and in his world of curves and curls, he's the swellest kid around.
I dont know, I saw a difference in last night's show too. Nothing close to the outrageous stuff Russo did in WCW obviously, but when I was watching it, I too wondered if Russo had anything to do with it. If he did, it looks like they're heading toward some new things and they're taking their time getting there (no hot-shotting). Both of which make me happy.
If he had nothing to do with last night's show, I'm glad the current WWE writing team FINALLY seems to be trying out new stuff and I'm still glad they're not rushing anything.

You know how the phrase "if you don't like what you're seeing, then turn it off" has come up on this board from time to time, particularly in some of the comments about the Jericho situation?
Well, after that Raven/Dreamer match last night, I took that advice to heart.
F**k you, WWE. You have now ruined RAW for me.

Oh no, I had no qualms with tonight's show, and I don't see the OBVIOUS Russo-isms everyone else did.
With Russo, I simply cannot watch his shows. I didn't know who he was when he was booking WWF shows, but I didn't like a whole lot about the attitude era. When he jumped to WCW, I was finally turned off to the whole affair - and I never thought WCW could turn me away.
Bottom line, yes the WWF is greatly insulting alot of the time with things like making fun of Molly's ass, Tommy Dreamer eating vomit, etc. that are the kind of things Russo would find entertaining. But truth be told - if he'd been in the company when they booked said angles, people would be suggesting he booked it without having any idea what he's part of and what he's not.
For all we know, Vince Russo booked the excellent Brock Lesnar vs. Rob Van Dam match last night.
When he gets the book, it will be abundantly clear by the product being put forth. But for now, these apparently obvious signs that his wrath is upon us is simply no different than anything else we've been watching for weeks.
