I'm inclined to believe him after the miserable year he's had.

Brett Favre of Minnesota Vikings says he's retiring after 20-year career

Brett Favre says it's time for him to call it a career.

Favre said he was finished after sitting out Minnesota's season-ending loss to Detroit with a concussion. He missed three of his final four games because of injury after starting an NFL record 297 straight games.

"It's been a wonderful experience for me," Favre said after watching the Vikings lose 20-13 to finish in last place in the NFC North. "This year did not work out the way we would have hoped, but that's football. I don't regret coming back. I enjoyed my experience here."

I think this is really it. If Leslie Frazier really is the new head coach now, I don't see him catering to Favre's ego in the offseason the way Chilly did.

Had he retired last year, he could have gone out on one of the best years of his career (ending in an interception, but one of his best years, nonetheless). Instead, he just HAD to give it one more go and now he goes out with his face buried on an icy field in the middle of the University of Minnesota during a game that meant nothing. It's the most fitting way for this egomaniac to go out and I hope he goes away and STAYS away for a long, long time.

Unless, of course, he changes his mind yet again, in which case I'm officially boycotting ESPN for the duration of that story.

Can't say it was a bad year for him. He did get paid 16 million. As long as NFL reporters have to do something during the downtime, Favre will come back rumors will exist.

I'll believe that Favre is done when September 2011 rolls around and, if there is a season, he is not on the field.

I still think he'll get a call this summer from at least one team. Maybe the Cardinals.

So you'll be boycotting ESPN roughly forever?

I'm Charlie Owens, good night, and good luck.

I hate F'n TO, and even I thought that it was most excellent. And what the hell can people complain about? There was no actual nudity, so essentially they're bitching about perceived nudity. Relax, she just had a towel misfunction!!
