Slightly off topic: Has there been a new 'wrestling mind' developed since the end of the Monday Night Wars? All the names mentioned: Russo, Heyman, Cornette, Bischoff, Dirty Dutch are all 90's or even earlier minds (used very loosely to include Russo).

Gabe Sapolsky? He got his start in ECW, but became a bigger name (and got more power) once ROH started after the Wars.
I could argue whoever is running ROH and DragonGate USA, but since a fraction of wrestling fans watch it then probably not. They haven't done anything to set the world on fire plus they are the minor leagues for WWE and TNA. The fact that the McMahons run the WWE with an iron fist really doesn't allow for much creative juices. TNA is just as bad with letting Russo, Bischoff and Hogan book whoever is kissing their ass or best friends. Yet, this is nothing new in wrestling or in business, the more ass you kiss the better the chances you have for a promotion.
The reason we had so many creative people come out of the 80s and 90s is due to a few reasons. Reason one is the territories being bought. Those who were bookers either went bankrupt or sold to the Big Two and most of those people joined either WCW or WWE. Reason two was desperation. When Vince was losing, he lessened the reigns a bit on creative plus he had the steroid trial which was taking a lot of his time. Same applies to Todd Gordon giving the book to Heyman, he needed help so he gave a call to Paul who worked his magic. WCW had a revolving door of people til they landed on Eric. Lastly, internet PR. A lot of these bookers or friends of the booker go online and talk about how great they are or were thus leading to jobs in WWE or WCW or TNA only to either be crushed under the corporate weight or being complete frauds. Yet, they go online blame other people and either get work in the indys or the competion or shill their book online.
dMp, afford is probably the wrong word more like embarrassed if Jeff goes back to WWE just like he did the first time. I also do believe, WWE would get him cleaned in six months, main event him three to four months later and continue the cycle due to how much merchandise he sells as well as being over with WWE fans as long as he is in WWE.
Weirdly, I think that once the dust settles on the last decade of wrestling and change finally rears its head, the booker who will end up being the "great new mind" of wrestling will be HHH.

Interestingly enough, he worked with the announcers on the last overseas trip as the "voice in their heads". He apparently received rave reviews from everyone (announcers included).
After a (very) long hiatus, I have begun to write again. And this time, I'm not alone!

Stephanie McMahon? She's stepped up from being just Vince's daughter to becoming veep for creative writing at WWE.

I think Dave Prazak is probably the best booker in America, and would love to see him be given a bigger stage to work with.
WWE has had their TV writers for long enough that Brian Gewirtz, Christopher DeJoseph, Dave Kapoor, etc. have spent years writing pro wrestling. How good any of them are in and of themselves, it's hard to say. Court Bauer and David Lagana are only ones I can think of who've actually done things outside of WWE.

TNADixie Dixie Carter Best of Mick Foley DVD planned for release in April from TNA Home Video w/ great bonus features from the Hardcore Legend!
Was there even one DVD worthy match?
Wow. This is coming from a company that hasn't put together a dvd for Styles since '04 or '05 and he's had tons and tons of great matches since then. Foley did say he' likely gone after his contract is up some they're trying to get some money off of him before he leaves.

I can see this. HHH seems to have a legit respect for the history of professional wrestling, something the McMahons are ashamed of. He was apparently very vocal in them bringing War Games in shortly after the WCW purchase, but Vince had to put his own touch to it and we got Elimination Chamber instead.
Sapolsky is the only post Monday Night Wars creative mind that has any level of prominence. Rumor has it that Heyman wanted to bring him into TNA had he signed.

Unfortunately, the moment that HHH puts the belt on himself, he becomes Hogan. I wouldn't add Steph to the list either since all the WWE as really tread water after doing Cena's push. Most of their magical moments have sadly become major warnings like Eddie and Benoit. The rest has more to do with people leaving the company then anything else.

You're just mad he got Orlando Jordan hired.
I keed, I keed.
Hogan brought a 4-sided ring and an epiphany that led me to realize I could save about a couple hours a week by not bothering with TNA anymore. I'll watch MCM matches but mostly I check in and realize what a good call I made.

So the WWF said Kaz wanted to go back to Japan to compete? I saw this on the Mighty Observer site: "Kaz Hayashi will be working the NWA Wildside TV tapings on Saturday night in Cornelia, GA which is headlined by A.J. Styles vs.
