According to the full report on ncaa.org, they NCAA concluded that his dad did in fact ask schools for money. But since they couldn't show that Cam knew about it or that money was actually paid, he's clear.
Doesn't this pretty much give a green light to parents of recruits to go ask for whatever they want?

I guess it does until the NCAA changes the rule to say the kid and the school will get nicked in the future whether they knew what the parents/relatives/street agents were doing or not.

I'm pretty sure the rule already says a parent can't ask for money on behalf of a kid. Does Cam not knowing mean it wasn't really on his behalf?
Sportswriters are saying the investigation is not done so this isn't final at all, just that at this point they didn't have enough to rule him out now. But again, them stating his dad asked for money seems like it should be enough to me.
Oh and the other funny note to me about all this is how Vegas knows all. Monday night they took off the line for the SEC championship game. Not many noticed but us college football message board junkies, but we figured it had something to do with Cam. Now we find out he was ruled ineligible by Auburn that day and it makes sense.

I guess my logic is they are saying "Cam didn't know equals he CAN play", but in the future they will amend the policy to say whether he knew or not he can't play. That actually might be an effective deterrent, because you would think most parents wouldn't want to be the reason why their kid gets suspended and has a black mark on them.

Yeah, and in the meantime, Auburn goes to the national championship game to play Oregon, and as a side note, TCU (a non-BCS squad) doesn't get in. They'll really go to any lengths, it seems, to keep those pesky non-BCS-affiliated teams from possibly winning the national championship.

This statement is idiotic. You really think it's "go[ing] to any length" to have Auburn playing for a national championship instead of TCU? As if it was a toss-up between which of the two teams deserved it more and somewhere out there a cabal of secret small school-hating ninjas jumped through some hoops to give the title shot to Auburn? Be reasonable.
I seriously doubt one single person in the entire country agrees with you, not even TCU fans.
