Lordy. What's the point of all this? The only way this pays off is if they find a Cena-alike to go under the mask and for it to be one big swerve where "Juan Cena" is somebody the GM hired to crew with Barrett.
I think people would realise fairly quickly that the black guy under the mask was not, in fact, John Cena in disguise. Then again, I'm possibly giving WWE crowds too much credit.

I love the idea. John Cena gets fired, a new wrestler (who is, conveniently, a masked man) is announced as taking all of Cena's bookings, fans get excited because their hero has obviously found a way to circumvent the unfair firing... and then it's really not him.

Us "old" guys look back on those angles fondly now (though time does heal all wounds). I'm willing to take a wait and see approach.
Probably would not have reacted well. Yet funny enough; there's an article on TV Tropes that references this kind of an angle; Click Here (tvtropes.org).
"The trope's named for the particular implementation of the storyline on Jimmy Valiant; after he lost a Loser Leaves Town match, a new wrestler, calling himself Charlie Brown from Outta Town, showed up, wearing a mask, but oddly enough, with Valiant's signature three-foot beard".

As I said before, I'm sure the point is only for house shows, so that there's not false advertising. I'd say there's a less than 10% chance Juan will ever be on camera.

This could lead to some good comedy if they pursue this in the vein of that Simpsons episode where Flanders had his family reunion. One week it's Juan Cena, the next week it's John's long-lost French cousin Jacques Cena, maybe Jonathan Livingston Cena for their next UK tour, etc.

I've wondered how long the WWE is willing to run RAW without Triple H or Cena. Dare they risk the wrath of Sad Children?

The next few weeks will show how much faith they REALLY have in Orton as the company's top face. (Well, assuming Cena's off TV for more than a week.)
It's still wishful thinking on my part that they'd keep Cena off the air for a while, just to at least ATTEMPT to sell the stipulation. And besides that, hasn't the guy EARNED a vacation after all the work he's done?

This skirts fantasy booking, but wouldn't Orton go after Barrett? Miz took advantage of a Nexus plot and has at least some face support. Barrett is bone evil and makes for a better foil for the top face.
Miz doesn't need a feud for an angle. He has the belt. That's his angle. Anyone can step up for a match or two.

Matt, I think I hit the ignore you button by accident, so let me apologize for that on the outset. Orton will go after Miz since Cena being in Philly means he will continue to be a thorn in the side of Nexus. Miz needs a good opponet for his title run, they can't just throw Santino or Zeke in there and hope for the best. They need someone to help polish Miz's title defenses and that is Orton. I do think the coming weeks will be more about can Miz be a good champ then can Orton can carry the company? Of course, I could be wrong. Like I said in the Raw thread, Miz has pissed everyone off including Nexus and Sheamus at times. There a ton of guys for him to fight, but I think it would be good if he went out there with a veteran who has main-evented big matches first before being challenged by people who haven't even main-evented Raw, yet.
Orton beat Wade three times so I think they're done with each other. Orton/Miz, Barrett/Cena (Christmas miracle!), and Edge/Kane. I don't know who gets the table, who gets the ladder, and who gets the chair in those instances. Edge is the go-to ladder match guy, but against Kane, yikes. Miz can be like "I won a ladder match to get MITB so can u?" but I find it tough to imagine Orton and Miz doing a ladder match unless they just do a regular match with occasional ladder shots the way they do with the HIACs. They should just let Bryan and someone or Kaval and Ziggler do the ladder match even if it's not the main event.
Kurt's first title reign wasn't that short. He held it for four and a half months which was probably the longest anyone in the company held it since Shawn Michaels last reign which ended at Wrestlemania 14.
