Not to brag or nothin', but in watching the video I was able to come up with the answer just based on that one letter as well. So, yeah, it's entirely doable.

She claims she had it solved without any letters. Interesting read. I know Jeopardy! has a tough qualification process, but I figured they would use Wheel contestants more for their camera presence and not test them as hard. http://www.esquire.com/blogs/chris-jones/wheel-of-fortune-one-letter

I think she'd probably be remembered more in history if she had just solved the puzzle without spinning at all. Apparently, she could have done it.

Still, it was an impressive moment. I had this episode on while cooking dinner and remember having the same response Pat seemed to when she said she wanted to solve (which was along the lines of 'Wait...what?')"

If she had it solved with no letters, though, why wasn't she smart enough to choose a letter such as "g" or "t" which appeared more than once in the puzzle? Would have been more money for her, no? I'm just saying....

I doubt she cared about the money since this was one of those "prize puzzles" (solve it, win a prize).

carnage's link has her saying that she was so focused on figuring out the 7 letter word, once she realized it was "feeling" she just kind of blurted out "L" because it was in that word. I can see your adrenaline pumping at that point, and can definitely understand her maybe not thinking rationally about it. Isn't there also a time limit to choose a letter?

As was mentioned before, she was just focused in the moment with the spinning and guessing 'L' and thus her actions are understandable, but in a prize puzzle like this, if she knew the answer, it wasn't worth the risk to spin at all - she could have landed on Bankrupt or Lose A Turn.
