The demo for Force Unleashed 2 actually discouraged me from getting the game. The graphics look good, and the Star Wars sounds are nice (Vader however sounds like nothing like the movie characters. But the gameplay is pretty repetitive despite having expanded force powers.
The Jedi Mind Trick is a good idea unless you're fighting a crowd. The targeting lock is slippery, and it's difficult to latch onto one enemy among a gang when the computer thinks you're aiming for a cargo container. At best I'll wait until the price goes to half.
The new WWE game, however, is a release-date purchase for me.

The first thing I did was use Best Buy's code to download Bret hart. But I also noticed THQ already has two-add one packs including the NXT material.
In playing the game, I started with the new WWE Universe mode which feels a lot like one of the previous THQ games. The shows are located on a calendar, and you can hop into matches to affect rankings and feuds. After each show, a news feed tells you about alliances and angles. Characters are unlocked after Vince sics them on you.
The controls are a bit different. Grapples seem to work exclusively with the right stick. To pick up an opponent on the ground, you simply move the stick up. The pin control is now one of the four action buttons. Hitting a finisher and signature is much easier. If your opponent is already weakened, you don't need to set him up with a grapple or toe kick. The CAW indeed gives you the ability to max out your wrestler abilities from the get go. The weapon options aren't limited to only hardcore-style wrestlers. The turnbuckle options now includes sitting the opponent up top and then selecting attacks based there.
The physics feel light, and the character gloss seems off. But so far, it's a very easy transition from previous games.

PS2: turned 10 years old yesterday. See: list of developer's favorite games. It was supposed to last 10 years, and they were still putting on new games this week. (Not many, but not many for PSP...)
$$$: Best Buy has a 2 for 1 game deal on right now, but it looks like Target will start the same this Sunday with a larger selection. FIFA for me, FIFA for a friend, ???. (Suggestions welcome.)
item which forbodes nothing good: Sony announces PlayStation Rewards, "a loyalty program." Loyalty is free so far! Avatars, themes, and PS Home stuff I do not care about. They're adding in GAP and Playstation Plus members who "opted-in to marketing as of October 24th", so at least that's clear.

Are these add-ons to the single-player mode in RDR? I saw the commercial for Undead Nightmare and it looked kind of interesting. Are the Legends and Killers and Liars and Cheats ones worth getting?

Undead Nightmare adds a multiplayer survival mode and some storyline missions. A friend of mine and I got through 10 waves at the Blackwater cemetery before we got overrun. If we had a full squad of 4...

I liked the demo quite a bit, except for the Tie Fighter part. That foreshadows a lot of frustration if you need to do more things like that later in the game. At least you're not getting shot at by Stormtroopers while trying to grab the Ties.
I assume Jedi mind tricks are for stealth purposes. I really doubt they'd be useful in a crowd fight. The targeting is still an issue, but I was never a proponent of throwing things around in a fight. There are, of course, points where you have to throw things, but for general combat, I prefer force pushes, lightning, and saber slashes.

Downloaded the Undead Nightmare pack last night. It's completely worth it. The additional story elements are good, the re-imagining of the color scheme as well as the music is a nice touch. All of the original voice actors are back, so it doesn't feel second rate (Heavy Rain DLC). Best of all was that I got all three for 19.99. I'm not a Plus subscriber, so I imagine the deal is out there for those who, like me, never purchased the other two packs.

Anyone play any of these? I tend to buy these just because -- but I've still got 5 unplayed games from the last bundle and a stack of Xbox games. If anything is marginally good I'll pick this up, I guess.
